Question - Broadcast

Hello Community,

I have a time-sensitive issue I really need help with. I'm trying to deliver broadcast masters to a broadcaster who requires a different order to the audio tracks than what my masters use.

Specifically, I need to do three things.

One, I need to send or re-route my dialogue tracks (tracks 3-4) to track 11 only. Two, I need to send or re-route my M&E tracks (tracks 11-12) to track 12 only. Three, I need to duplicate the stereo tracks from channels 1-2 to channels 3-4.

My confusion lies primarily with re-routing two tracks to one track. The way I know how to do this, in my mind, will destroy audio information. What I think I can do is make the dialogue tracks mono, pan BOTH to -100, and re-route to 11-12. Then make the M&E tracks mono, pan BOTH to 100, and re-route to 11-12. But I've never re-routed a dual-mono track with both Left and Right panned to the Left. Will this not meld/mixup/erode some of the audio information?

Or is that exactly what I need to do? And do I need to mess with Submixes to accomplish what I'm trying to do here?

Since this is meant for broadcast, the only tracks that goes to air are the stereo and surround tracks. So don't worry about mixing two dialog tracks into one. Not sure why they want only dialog and effects on separate tracks. Might have to do with loudness control. Normally, they'd want sync audio and music on separate tracks too. Then again, it seems they're running out of tracks. 🙂
