I am beaten… I have been grappling withe a video which keeps exporting blank. After doing more tests than I can name. I have got to the problem being the caption file i am importing. if I export with no captions it exports fine. If i import an SRT file with no bot or with bot the video renders and publishes blank, splendid audio though. The project is important and I have exhausted all i can think of. I have to say, I have never known such a difficult video to publish. Doe any one have any ideas?

I have tried hardware encode and software encode, all the same.

    Dear all, I just am not able to get this to work. I cant send in any of my material as it is sensitive. Every time.  I format the subs with background etc, it defaults to a black screen and it is hit and miss for just plain text.  I am using handbrake to burn my captions in to the finished product. I am going to try and get the software reinstalled and see if that fixes it.

    Got it. Try a new test project with a video you can share. Does it happen there?

    > I format the subs with background etc, it defaults to a black screen

    We need more information about what you are actually doing.

    Did you try resetting preferences?

    Hi @defaultdxgy7pg2j08x - Can you send the project with the SRT file (no media) to jamiec@adobe.com I will take a look.

    Can you also answer the questions in this link Please see, How do I write a bug report?

    Thank you for the reply Jamie. I have used a work around after I had a flash of inspiration. I needed to compress the video so have used handbrake to burn the subs in to the video. Worked superbly.

    Video renders Blank after importing captions file | Community has been asked previously by me. I have gone through this step by step with tests. I had a new file and have re done all my captions on a 1 hr and 16 minute long video. The video is still publishing with a blank screen, The captions were from PP transcribe, which I have sat all day correcting. I did a short test yesterday , which worked.

    When I try to export with burned in captions, it will not have a picture, just sound. I am now publishing/exporting with SRT as a side file and this time it is publishing. I can not for the life of me work out why?  I have done this many times before with no problem, even on a long video. What am I doing wrong?

    I had problems with apple source video, export blank ( raised on this forum)

    On that issue it was the added sound, no captions. I exported to an MP4, used this to add my sound, works fine until I add captions.

    Used this video to add captions - blank screen!

    To be honest I have lost so much time on this project, but something is going wrong at some point in the process and I can’t work out why.

    @defaultdxgy7pg2j08x,

    I think you mean with or without “BOM.” The usual issues here are whether the SRT will import correctly. And the preferred encoding may vary with operating system and caption language. I don’t recall an issue with the video not exporting.

    What version of PR are you using?

    Can you provide a link to the SRT? I can test. (You can send the link via private message.)

    yes, sorry i mean BOM which was something co pilot suggested. the format of my SRT is like this, (text is a bit of the script)

     3
    00:00:04,933 --> 00:00:06,533
    Thank you so much for coming

    I think I am going to have to re-transcribe, I was hoping to save some work in the correcting of the miss hears. the whole video is about 90 minutes long :-(. I have lost more time than if I had just started again)

    best wishes

    @defaultdxgy7pg2j08x,

    I hear you. Sometimes re-doing is best.

    Your sample caption looks correct, and it is hard for me to understand how any of that could create the problem you are seeing.
