Premiere v 26.3 and Premiere (Beta) v 26.5 not opening

    Good news — Premiere Pro 26.5 fixed the launch issue on my system.

    I can now confirm that Premiere Pro 26.5 launches and works correctly on the same machine where versions 26.3 and 26.3.2 would not launch at all.

    My system:

    Windows 10 64-bit
    AMD Ryzen 9 9900X
    MSI PRO X870E-P WIFI
    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16 GB
    Adobe Creative Cloud 2026

    Previously tested:

    Premiere Pro 26.2.2 — launched and worked correctly
    Premiere Pro 26.3 — would not launch
    Premiere Pro 26.3.2 — would not launch
    Premiere Pro 26.5 — launches and works correctly

    Nothing significant has changed in my hardware or Windows configuration. Updating Premiere Pro and Media Encoder to 26.5 resolved the problem.

    Adobe has also now listed the “Premiere fails to launch” issue affecting Premiere 26.3 as resolved in version 26.5.

    So, for anyone who had the same problem and stayed on 26.2.2: 26.5 is worth trying.

    Thanks to the Adobe team for fixing it, and thanks to everyone in this thread who shared their test results and system configurations.

      I am having the same problem. I have never been able to open any 26.3 or newer version of Premiere Pro on my computer. It will simply show up as “Suspended” in Task Manager, but the program will never actually start. I have ensured my drivers are up to date, Windows Magnifier has never been on, and I’ve set it to open with my Nvidia GPU, but nothing even opens until I revert back to 26.2.2. 

      • Intel(R) UHD Graphics driver 32.0.101.7085, DirectX version 12 (FL 12.1)
      • NVIDIA RTX 3500 Ada Generation Laptop GPU, Driver version 32.0.15.9672, DirectX version 12 (FL 12.2)

      I have created a dump file from the suspended Premiere Pro in Task Manager, but it is over 500 MB and can’t be uploaded here.

      I can confirm that the issue is still present in Premiere Pro 26.3.2 on my system.

      System configuration:

      • Windows 10 64-bit

      • AMD Ryzen 9 9900X

      • MSI PRO X870E-P WIFI motherboard

      • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16 GB

      • NVIDIA driver 610.62

      • Adobe Creative Cloud 2026

      Premiere Pro versions tested:

      • Premiere Pro 26.2.2 — launches and works correctly

      • Premiere Pro 26.3 — does not launch

      • Premiere Pro 26.3.2 — does not launch either

      I installed 26.3.2 specifically to check whether the launch problem introduced in 26.3 had been fixed, but the behavior remained unchanged.

      After reinstalling Premiere Pro 26.2.2, the application launched normally again on the same computer, with the same Windows installation, graphics driver, hardware configuration, and third-party software.

      Based on this comparison, the problem appears to be a regression introduced in the Premiere Pro 26.3 branch rather than a general hardware, Windows, or NVIDIA RTX 5080 compatibility issue.

      At the moment, Premiere Pro 26.2.2 is the latest version that works reliably on my system.

        I tried everything I found on internet...my Nvidia RTX PRO 5000 Driver is up to date, no magnifier “on”...  preferences have been reset, cache..etc. Still not working...one month later still back on 26.2.2

          Same issue after updating to 26.3...had to uninstall and back to 26.2.2

            I am experiencing the same issue with Premiere Pro 26.3.0.93. Premiere never opens, although the process appears in Task Manager and Creative Cloud reports it as running. After Effects and Media Encoder launch normally.

            Environment:

            • Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2 (22631.7219)
            • Intel Graphics
            • Intel driver 32.0.101.8508

            Event Viewer:

            • Event ID 1000
            • Faulting module: ntdll.dll
            • Exception code: 0xc0000374

            Troubleshooting already performed:

            • Removed Premiere Beta
            • Reinstalled Premiere Pro
            • Reset Premiere preferences
            • Tried Shift-launch
            • Tried launching without opening a project

            Is Adobe aware of any issues in 26.3 related to Intel Graphics drivers or Windows 11 23H2?

              Thank you for these additional details. Can you please specify if you are using a Windows or macOS, along with the version? 

              If your operating system is Windows, please let us know your video card driver version. We recommend updating to the most recent version; for NVIDIA users, we strongly recommend the Studio version of the driver.

                Since updating Premiere to version 26.3, the application no longer opens properly.

                • When I attempt to launch Premiere Pro (either directly or by opening a project file), nothing appears on screen.
                • However, the application does start in the background, as it is visible in Task Manager.
                • Despite showing as running, no application window opens, and I cannot interact with it.

                This behavior occurs consistently, regardless of whether I:

                • Launch Premiere Pro from the desktop/start menu, or
                • Open an existing project file

                Before the update, the application was functioning normally.

                  Thank you for your patience. Please check your system to see if you have the Windows Magnifier feature turned on (Win + '+', or Settings > Accessibility > Magnifier).

                  • If so, disable that feature and try to relaunch Premiere.
