I'm working in RH HTML 9 and am working on a project where there will be at least 2 versions of help documentation. One version for basic functionality, to be used by a novice user and another for advanced functionality, to be used by a advanced user. The basic functionality needs to viewable by both the novice and the advanced users with the advanced user being able to find help on a few more windows/fields/options. The programmer asked if an existing topic can be imported to another topic. I am already using conditional tags to exclude certain topic from the novice user version. Another way I could do this is to provide a link from the advanced user page to the novice user page.Thank you,dpeterson8022
I am working with the robohelp_csh.js file from Robohelp 10 and it appears to be very old last copywrite is in 2008 and contains no reference to firefox or IE versions greater then 5. Is there a newer version of this file or an alternative?
I'm generating a WebHelp files and it's generating and giving me all kinds of funky characters through the Help file --> example, Elizabeth’. Our standard browser is IE 8 and if I right click in the browser and switch the Encoding to Unicode UTF-8 it translates the word perfectly. Unfortunately, it's always generating as Western which is creating these funky characters. Is there an option to change so it will generate the Help as Unicode UTF-8? I've read and tried everything. Help please.
I need to install the RH10 demo with captivate on a machine with RH9. Will that create any problems?
I am using RoboHelp 7 and have an existing project created with over 2000 topics. All these topics get updated regularly. My question is that if I have to update say 4 or 5 existing topics plus create new topics, in order for this to reflect correctly when our DBA's roll this out to our clients on the online help, they have to copy the entire directory, which is massive. Isnt there a way of just updating those 4 or 5 topics or any new topics, and only rolling out those topics. We have clients all over the world and it is so time consuming with line speed etc, especially Africa lines.I have also been told the following (see below) and have tried this, but it doesnt work, i.e. pictures and icons dont appear. What you need to copy is any new / changed help files, e.g., f301.htm, and the index.hhk and toc.hhc files. These are the index and table of contents files. Those are only really needed if there have been new index or table of contents entries, i.e. for
I'm using RH10 and outputting to WebHelp. My company requires that I archive project source files to our CVS via Eclipse. I am not using RoboSource_Control and must use the company's development resources for archiving. Since archiving the initial project, I have been uploading only source files with modified dates. However, I have discovered that the files I thought were storing user variables and build tags are not the correct files to archive. Since I am uploading all files with a newer date and that's not working, I need to know the user variable source file name and the build tag source file name that stores the currently defined variables and build tags. I have already tried the WebHelp forum and was directed to this forum to pose the question because I'm looking for source file information instead of output file information. Thanks for your help!karen
Robohelp10 is working good with SP2013 so far. And I am using SP2013 for Version control in RH. If SP is disconnected and if I hit the Generate-->Primary Layout then RH is giving the following error a thousand times, once is enough right? with so many message boxed and clicking OKs I cannot work or do any thing. The remote name could not be resolved: '<servername>'Is there any solution or workaround for this?
Hi, So I have these hotspots working just fine on the project. The clickable portion has a hover dhtml effect on it. I managed to publish the htm file of the topic onto my website and now the hotspot doesn't work. It just has the expanded contents sitting underneath the hovering title. Any ideas on how to get these hotspots to work on IE?
using RH 8 for HTML. i was using Webhelp as single source layout, but the options are gone but for Webhelp pro. I think this is affecting my help files as the output is going to the wrong folder now and other things are not working correctly, e.g., auto size pop-ups don't work. i tried to add layouts, but the only option is WebHelp Pro.
Hi, I just noticed all of this code being generated in new files in RH10 that I haven't see before in my RH9 files, what's up? Can I stop it? This is the code for 1 bullet and repeats for every bullet point.<li><p><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">S</span><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">elect the document and click </span><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; font-weight: bold;">View</span><span style="mso-ansi-langu

Our testers noticed this problem in the breadcrumbs in a help generated from a localized RH project:Notice that the "Home" text in the breadcrumbs is always in English. I hoped if I specified the non-English language in the RH's project settings, it would automatically localize these, but this doesn't happen. Is there a way to expose these strings, so that our translators can localize "Home" into the equivalent non-English text? I know you can change the breadcrumb format and type in new text that way, but our translators don't have RH and so can't access it that way. Is there a text file somewhere that contains these strings?
Has anyone seen this issue I'm having where you start to type in a search term and the webhelp initiates the search before you're done typing and also adds a space? For example, if I start typing "anonymous" into the search, I get to about "anon" and then the search starts and a space is added at the end so now the search field shows "anon ". Also, when this happens if you don't let it finish searching before you hit backspace and try to finish typing the word, I get the "Failed to load XML" error and you have to refresh the browser to proceed.NOTE: This only happens in IE and Firefox. Chrome functions perfectly.I'm on RH10.
I'm using RH10 Webhelp and am required to upload source files to CVS via eclipse. I have been uploading files with changed dates to maintain a current version on CVS.However, I have discovered that the files in the main project folder that I thought were storing user variables and build tags and have new dates after I've made changes, are not the correct files. Please tell me which files store the updated variables and build tags so that I can include them in my upload.thanks, karen
I'm testing the integration of RoboHelp Projects with SVN (with PushOk plugin).Everything has worked well until now apart from renaming files. The following error occurs: COM.SvnClient.Error, HRESULT=0x80020009Path '...' is not a directoryThere is a similar discussion from 2010 in the forum: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3005946#3005946The suggestion is to duplicate the topic into a new name. But this is not a workaround for us. What about hyperlinks referencing the topic?I can't see this beeing the only way to rename files. Isn't there another solution?
The images in my HTML5 output are being stretched vertically when viewed in Internet Explorer 8. I know there are HTML5 issues in general with IE, especially older versions, but is there a quick fix for this? I've attached an example below. The first image is supposed to be the search icon (magnifying glass) and the second is a little printer icon. Both are stretched vertically.
Is there a way in RoboHelp9 to allow print PDF option for topics in a published WebHelp? My need is for a context sensitive help embedded in the application. Thank you.
I am using RH 10.0.1.292. I am able to add most of the widgets to screen layouts for a phone screen, but there are a few that are grayed out. When using the Screen Layout Editor in Design mode, the widgets that are not available from the toolbar are: - Search Results Area and Search Results Area (Small Screens) - Topic - All the Browse Sequence widgetsWhat step am I missing to have these enabled?
I have several hundred topics in my project. I just opened the project and all of my topics are showing as broken links. There are no topics listed either in the topics pod or the HTML files (topics) section in the project manager. How can I get them back without linking each file manually? I tried deleting the .cpd file but still the same.
I don't get it. I have a new computer. More RAM, faster processors etc, yet doing something as simple as clicking on a menu, RH takes around two-three seconds before showing the menu!On the Customize dialog box for the menu, on Options, I have this:I thought setting Menu animations to None would fix this, but there's no visible difference. Any ideas on how to fix this? It's just happening in RH.I have RH 9.02.271Windows 7 Ulitmate OS, 64-bit system
Does RoboHelp 10 work with SharePoint 2013. If not is it planned to support SharePoint 2013 in near feature? When? Is there any road map?
Hello,We aare using Robohelp 10 to develop and generate our WebHelp system. This output is being integrated into our browser-based application that has been developed using Python, and the the user interface is rendered as .dtm files. Now, the issue is that when after integration on the Webhelp, the help container is displayed with the context sensitivity, but without the left-pane (having the search and index tabs). We looked into the RoboHelp api, and understood that if the left-pane is to appear by default, then the context sensitivity will be lost and the default help topic is displayed always. Is this correct? Can someone please help us ?Thank YouVinay
It's Magic!...or something.I am using TCS 4 (FM11, RH10).This is a screenshot from FM. It is a graphic (PNG) with a text line or text frame (I've tried both) over it. The text is "Duration".After importing into RH, this is what it looks like. What happened to the text? It took each letter in "Duration" and added 3 places to it: D becomes G (D ef G), u becomes x (u vw x), and so on.WTF? (or ZWI in this case). It also appears to have merged the text with the graphic into a single image in RH.Can someone explain this? Has anyone seen it before? And how do I fix it? I mean, besides changing the word to "Aro^qflk" (which does work, btw).Help.
When I generate output as an eBook, the results do not use the correct fonts. I assume I need to embed the fonts somehow, but I have not been able to find a way to do this. The font names are listed in the .css file, so I don't think that's the problem. I'm using RoboHelp 10, and using EPUB3 as the eBook format.
Hello all,Has anyone been able to generate an epub output that includes nest lists that are aligned properly?I have been trying to get nested lists to behave properly for a long time, with Multilevel lists, HTML lists, converting autonumbering to text, but to no avail.I have tried generated epub 2.0 output (using the script) and epub 3 output (using the SSL) to no avail. I am able to generate Webhelp with no problem.the epub 2.0 output using multilevel lists looks a bit better than the epub 3, but still not perfect. It looks fine in Robohelp, but not in the output as displayed on an ipad.epub 3 output seems to be a problem because the custom rh-list definitions are ignored completely. If anyone has figure out how to define nested lists (ordered and unordered) for output to epub, please let me what method you are using.I've attached some photos. In Robohelp it looks fine:In ibooks at small font, it looks all right, but there are a few small alignment issues:In ibooks at large font, the is
