Question

table of contents font is incorrect in printed documentation

I compiled the Printed Documentation in my RH project this morning, but the font in the Table of Contents came up as a Times Roman-type of font, rather than Arial, which is specified in the .css file. I am using RH 2017.

I tried re-starting my computer, but that accomplished nothing. Any ideas? I have to load this to Production tomorrow.

Thank you!

Can you share the project? If you can, then see the Contact page on my site and send the project as instructed there. Do make sure you include a link to this thread and please do not email the project direct.

Okay so you've checked in your stylesheet that the body tag and the Normal style have the correct font selected.

One more thought. Check the font for the Hyperlink style.

And the Normal style also displays the font you selected? And you don't use a Word template (.dot, or dotx) in the Output SSL dialog box?

I'm about out of ideas, if so.

Yes, the Normal style is satisfactorily in use throughout the document; only the ToC is affected.

No, no templates; only the .css file.

The p tag is the "Normal" style in the stylesheet (under Paragraphs). You'll find the body tag in your stylesheet listed under Other > Background + Text (BODY). (I normally set my most used font here, and then set exceptions for the relevant style such as headings.)

Again, I thank you for your suggestion, but something is still amiss. I went to the .css file, to Other . Background + Text (BODY) and selected Calibri, 11 point, but the ToC is still producing Times Roman.

    Anything else?

@Amebr Goodness knows what I was thinking.

@LonTheWriter Amber is pointing you the right way.

While I'm not Peter, I think he misread that you were having a problem with content in a table, rather than the table of contents. 🙂

In the last step of the generate dialog box do you normally select a Word template or a css file? If you normally choose a word template, perhaps the TOC1-9 styles have been accidentally updated to use Times New Roman. If you normally choose a css file, it should take the font from the body, or from the p tag if that's set separately, so you could check that both of them are set as you expect.

    Hi, Ameber!

Thanks for responding ... I just generated a project I haven't worked on in months, and it also came up with the wrong font (Times Roman, when I specified Calibri).

I do use a .css file, but I'm not clear on what a "p tag" is ... where would I find that?

This sounds like a problem I faced about ten years back! Create a backup of your project in case this is not the answer.

Create a style in RoboHelp and call it anything but tabletext, tabletext_rh would be OK. Create the same style in your Word template. Style both as required and map accordingly.

See if that works and let us know.

Obviously apply that style to the table contents.

Due to a number of projects requiring my attention, I had to put this on hold for a while, although I have been working on it intermittently. I did try your suggestion, Peter, but I may not have fully understood the procedures. I formatted my Word template, created a new style in the css file ... as far as "mapping" goes, I'm not clear on that; how do I map one to the other?
