Translated text isn't shown after imported translated XLF files

Hello,

 

I'm using RoboHelp 2022.2.22

 

Our RoboHelp files are in U.S. English and we have a need to have them translated to French Canadian.  I've successfully exported the content to XLIFF (.xlf) files.  

As a test, we manually translated just one file, then I imported the xlf files and synced them.  They files all show as In Sync.  However, when I go to view the page that was translated, it all still shows in U.S. English.  I've attached a picture of the manually translated xlf file and broke up the code lines a bit, to make it more easily readable.

After importing and syncing the files, when I load the page in RoboHelp that this file is for, everything still shows as U.S. English.  What am I missing or doing incorrectly?

    I had the same issue.  When you add a translation, it creates a whole other RoboHelp project folder with a new .rhpj file for the translation.  This file is linked to your main project, but it is easy to get these confused. 

    From your main project, click on the three dots next to your translation and choose "Open translation project."  This opens another RoboHelp window that looks near identical to your main project, but you have actually just opened the translation project.  From this newly opened project, you can then go to your Output screen and go through your normal process.

    Extra Tip -  A quick way to tell whether you are in your original Robohelp project vs. your Translated project is to select the Translation option in the Author tab.  If you see all the translations listed that you have created, you are in your original Robohelp project and you are seeing all the linked translated project you created.  The translated RoboHelp project will not have any translations listed.

    I don't do translations, but until someone with more knowledge comes along, have you looked at Peter's site to make sure things are set up as he describes? There's also a webinar at the bottom which might show the process?

    Yes, these are the steps I've followed, but it still shows as English and not French when I import the translated xlf file.
