Hi,I'm creating something for a client, and he needs the Winsoft Pro hebrew font.I have it since I bought CS4.What I wanted to ask is: Can I make a commercial use? I can't find the terms...Thanks a lot!
Hi,I have the Adobe Type Basics T1 Postscript font package and I want to use it with my LaTeX editor. When using latex-dvi2ps-ps2pdf(with Distiller) I don't have any problem because I already installed on Windows the .pfm files. The problem appears when I want to compile the documents with PDFLaTeX, which is necessary for beamer slide presentations. I have added the .pfb files in a root directory of my MiKTeX distribution, and have changed the updmap file in order to embed those T1 fonts (I don't want to use Nimbus...). When I try to compile there appears an error, namely: !pdfTeX error: pdflatex.exe (file C:/myfonts/fonts/type1/adobe/tib_____.pfb): 38084 bytes more than expectedIt seems to be some problem with the .pfb files. I know this is not a LaTeX forum, but I think this is a good place to ask this question, probably some of you use this language to create documents.Thank you for your help.
So here's the issue, in common with many other publishers we maintain a 'reprints' dept. Traditionally publishers made minor changes to 'standing pages' such that the pages did not require re make up, for some publishers usually producing works of reference this is where the real profit is made.Replacing a T1 font with an OT or TT version is not always possible as there are often 'minor' changes to the font metrics that cause reflow. The standing pages are held in 'old' versions of applications - both InDesign and Quark have at some stage revised the H&J engines. Both InDesign and Quark have also at times made changes to graphic (object) handling which can cause line and page reflow. So I have to maintain 'old' versions of both the applications and operating systems. Now a possible solution to the reprints issue has been suggested, apply the minor corrections and updates, create PDF's of the sections/pages/titles then make them available to subscribers as print-on-demand addendums. As I
Okay guys,So I am in the process of designing a logo for my band. The logo will be used for T-shirts, our website, and other merch (stickers, business cards, etc.). I need some assistance as far as licencing rights go. I want to use the font Eccentric Std. for the logo and I was wondering if this font could be used for that purpose. I read that it fell under print and preview, but I wasn't sure if that meant that it could only be used on a website. Also, I saw that the font has been used on birthday cards like the Rose brand that Walmart carriess, so I'm assuming that there is some way that it should be okay,Thanks,Branon
Hello,I've been using Creative Cloud for a few months and the Typekit for about a month, didn't have any major issues until now. Typekit seems to have stopped working (or at least the syncing of fonts has). I added some fonts from Typekit that were working fine until today, now I get 'font not found on the system' dialogue when I open any Illustrator or Indesign docs. There's still a record on my Creative Cloud panel that confirms I added the fonts (23 days ago), yet the Fonts tab on Creative Cloud has reverted back to the previous 'teaser' ad for Typekit saying 'Coming Soon':Has anyone else experienced this, or are there any 'known issues'?Working on a major project with pretty tight deadlines so need to sort this out ASAPMany thanks in advance...
I am planning to download Avant Garde from http://store1.adobe.com/ for use online. Does my purchace fee include the licence to use the font online or are there restrictions? I have a typekit account but this font is not available through there.I have looked through these forums and through the documentation on the Adobe store site but I can't find the answer to this question.Mant thanks.
Hi all,I have a Feng Shui website at 风水. How to extra Chinese Simplified Fonts to Photoshop? Many thanks in advance.
I am creating a book for print not the web. I read that some of the typefaces do not export in the packaged pdf going to the professional printer. Is there someone that has some information on this? I need it quick because the book is in process now and don't want to get to the end only to find out I selected the wrong typface? Does it make a difference if I buy the typeface? Why wouldn't all the typefaces in the typekit be available for export to the printer?Thank you,LBR
Hello,I use a mac at work but a Windows 7 64-bit machine at home. I'm taking some work with me and I'm looking at the font files that I'll need and I see a bunch of PostScript Type 1 files and one .scr file. I was looking up how to install PostScript Type 1 fonts on Windows 7 and read that you need both the .pfm and .pfb files, but I don't see these here. First, what is the .scr file, and second, will I still be able to download these fonts on to my PC?Thanks in advance!Tom
I've tried support chat and calling support and everytime they say I should be talking to another department...so I hope the forums can help me out.I have a personal Adobe ID(id-A) that I've had for a long time. I also have a Typekit account under the same email address. My boss at work purchased Adobe CS6 for me using his Adobe ID(id-B) and there is also a typekit account setup under the same email address. I use his Typekit account for client websites at work. I want to sync Typekit fonts to my desktop on my work computer. But, when installing the CS6 he purchased on my computer I used my Adobe ID(id-A) and I am logged into Creative Cloud using that Adobe ID. Now I'm trying to setup Typekit desktop font syncing. I want to use my boss's Typekit account to sync the files to my computer since that is what I use for client websites.- First, on my work computer, should I be signed into Adobe CS6 and Creative Cloud using my Boss's Adobe ID(id-B) instead of my old Adobe ID(id-A)?
LOVE the idea of TypeKit integration into Adobe CC. Having so many quality fonts at hand is great. Downside is that having so many quality fonts is a BEAR to browse through.I'd suggest adding the ability to sort by popularity/usage. This allows for crowd-sourcing the best fonts and one of the reasons I love Google's web font directory because it saves me having to wade through countless fonts that aren't very popular.Thoughts?
Tyepkit does not render properly in IE 8. My client is on a government network which requires the use of IE 8. I submitted an email to support@typekit.com on July 5th; only to receive an autoresponder that the ENTIRE support Team is on vacation from July 1-5th. I'm glad we the people, can pay for all of Adobe's team to take off an American holiday when most of their support comes from India?I submitted another email on the 8th; no response and today is the 9th. As I am under a deadline, support is NOT RESPONDING at all. I called the Abobe support number 1-800-642-3623 The wait time stated 4-6 minutes. After waiting on hold for over 2 hours the call was NEVER Answered. I am NOW attempting a second time; which now I am told the wait time will be over 1 hour. What has happened to Adobe customer service? This is an abhorrent way to treat any paying customer. I'm not used to being treated like I live in 3rd world country. I have an Adobe Cloud subscription and upgraded my account on A
Hi everyone,Hope you don't mind me asking this question, and sorry if it's been asked before. I'm developing a site and since it has a dark background I decided to use Verdana as body text since it's clean and readable and has plenty of space. My question now is what font to use to go with for titles etc. I have to say that I'm going round in circles, as I've read lots of conflicting advice; some say to contrast with a different looking font and you shouldn't have two similar ones together, others say the opposite! At the moment I'm considering Gill Sans Std Light, Lora, Georgia, Avenir Std Light, Sabon and Scala. Do you think these would be suitable, or should I be looking to use something else? Many thanks!
I create a lot if Indesign templates for my clients. Many of them for design purposes use all lower case for some things.i.e. A name would appear as JOHN smithI am able to caps lock JOHN so that no matter what name I type in there from the template it stays all caps. But I cannot figure out a way to lock the last name so that no matter what I type it's always lower case. This is important so that if someone is covering for me they don't accidentally add a capitol letter to things that shouldn't have them. Thanks!
Please don't cruify me for the following, but I need help identifying this hideous font. Client is adamant on it, out of my hands. I could swear I've seen it before, I think it may be some PC font. Looks like Curlz MT, but not quite. Thanks
Hello,The ePub format supports - as you may know - the CSS2 @11220649-face, but Adobe's fonts aren't directly embeddable that rule.At the moment, there are not FAQs or license terms specifically written for ePub (or other kind of ebook formats) so I'm going to refer to the currently available documents I found on the web. A Typblography blog post (http://blogs.adobe.com/typblography/2010/10/web-font-licensing.html) clearly describes the difference Adobe sets between "embedding" and "serving" a font. Epub format - unfortunately - lies in a sort of no man's land, because it is a zipped container of browsable documents (xhtml files, stylesheets, images, fonts), so it can be considered a self-contained and portable document, but at the same time, it doesn't protect the fonts from unauthorized use. Also the Adobe Font Licensing FAQs (http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/antipiracy/ff_faq.html) partially clarify the field
Hello everyone,Sorry for my english, as it is not my native language.I need to create labels with Bar Codes on Word, and save them as PDF. I use a font : EAN13.ttf , which is installed in my windows fonts folder. I use Windows 7.I create a Word document with my bar code written in EAN13 font, and it works very well as I see my bar code which is printable and high quality. But when I convert it to PDF thanks to Acrobat Pro 9, the bar code disapears, there are unidentified characters instead, as if the font wasn't installed.I already tried the following actions:- I installed the Ean13.ttf font in the FONTS folder of ACROBAT under ADOBE folder. Still, it won't work.- I went into Acrobat's preferences / advanced settings / fonts and I selected "always incorporate font: EAN13". It still won't work...I don't know what to do! On windows, the Font is installed and works very well on Microsoft Word... Do you know how I can have Adobe recognize my font?Thank you so much in advance,Greetings from
New subscriber to Adobe Creative Cloud. My InDesignCC does not have Candara font, which came with earlier disc versions on ID (Goodies). How can I download more fonts?Thank you,Frank DiMarco
I have CC applications and all apps have the same issue. When I try to select a Font type the preview of many are in an Asian or South-West Asian language. However, if I select one the type appears in English. Since I am not fluent in whatever languages these fonts are previewing, makes it very difficult to get an idea what the will look like unless I enter type for every one.I looked at the "AdobeFnt_CMaps.lst" and saw under "Ordering:Japan1". I don't know if this is a clue, but I would like to know how to sync an English preview to the English type. The fonts I am using are Native Windows 7 and Native Adobe. I can pull-up the "Font panel" in Win 7 and, for instance, Adobe Devanagari appears to be in Devangari (if so a Language exists) but types in English. I realize the Font names certainly sound like an Asian or Mid-Eastern language, maybe, they are intended to not be an English font, if that is the case I would like to know so I can disable them.1
I have purchased Adobe Font Folio v 11.1. I went to the Adobe licensing site and downloaded the software but i do not see an install file and need help to determine what is needed to install this software.
I own the font Myriad Pro Light on my PC. I have bought a Mac (OS Mountain Lion) and want to copy the font onto the Mac for a book I am designing. Is this legal? And, if so, how do I do it? Many thanks
Does anyone know if there is a tutorial somewhere online for using Helvetica Fractions? I am trying to typeset long fractions as stacked or "nut" fractions. Example is 1/1000 where the 1 is centered above the 1000 with a horizontal line between them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello all,Just spent far too much of my life with tech support getting nowhere. My task shouldn't be this hard!I purchased a font online, downloaded it, received a zip file. Highlighted the file, clicked extract. Selected C drive/WINDOWS/fonts to extract to. Clicked extract. Received a screen showing all of my fonts in that file and it is not there. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. I tried this same procedure using both Chrome and IE. No luck. Many thanks. Sy.
My team produces catalogs using InDesign that include measurements which I would dearly love to display as case fractions. We have tried to implement a GREP script that does this, but it only seems to work with fonts with PRO in their name. Is this coincidence, or is this part of what earns these fonts the "pro" designation?
