I'd like to think the forum is a repository where answers to one person's questions can end up helping others in the future.But that kind of goes to hell in a hurry if the forum loses supporting image information...Exhibit A:   A forum thread with a now missing image (see response #1), which was uploaded just a few days ago:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/842318I happen to still have the image around, if it's at all helpful in restoring that thread to its former vigor.  Here it is:-Noel

From time to time things seem to work a little differently.  Subtly so, but definitely so as well.It would be comforting to know that this isn't a figment of my imagination, or unexpected/unknown things changing on the computer here.I know the forum is a hugely complex thing, but can you confirm or deny that from time to time changes are being made to the forum software?It's just idle curiosity, but I'm kind of hoping the answer is "yes, occasionally we're rolling out minor modifications"...  It would help explain things.-Noel

Adobe-Admin noted that work was ongoing in the forums, and allowed as how a node might be out of sync (in another thread), so this could be part of the "work," or maybe it's been around for awhile, but I never encountered it.Background: I've been getting the "An Unexpected Error Has Occurred" message all afternoon (Tuesday, May 10), but if I go Back, then Cancel for my Reply, it is in fact posted.Just did that, but missed Cancel and hit Post again. It was then that I got another error message: "You are not allowed to post more than once per 9 sec." or similar syntax. Could this be a new anti-spam measure?Hunt

Frankly, this business of reporting spam here and hoping an Admin will follow-up seems a bit silly.I really feel for the Adobe Admins who must continually track the spam thread here and go actively delete posts based on the reports.Here's an idea...What if when someone reported a post as spam using the existing [Report Abuse] button it was immediately removed from display and put on a list for Admin review?Then, even if no Admin ever followed-up, the spam would just be off the forum as quickly as possible.The forum software could even track the number of reports and suspend an account automatically if a member hit a spam count threshold.You would then essentially have the members who care about the quality of the forums ALL actively fighting spam at once.About the only downside I can think of is that someone could report perfectly legitimate posts as spam, thus abusing the [Report Abuse] system.  The Admin could just ban such members (or simply remove their ability to squelch spam

My forum identity has created a new identity:  eddiem100-ZSI21j.  It is simply eddiem100.  It has now created the second identity while zeroing out all my posts.  I tried the steps in the Forums FAQ of logging out, logging back in, unchecking remember me, logging out again and then logging in newly.Still not resolved.  Help!

Hi,when I write messages here on this forum, I like to format my text and I can see all those wonderful toolsto do just that (this THAT I wrote in BIIIG letters and they were RED when writing this message...Same goes for styles etc....But as soon as I hit "Post Message" - all that formation has been discarded.... I wonder if you are open to the idea of registering this fourm on the Tapatalk network. It would be nice to be able to use the nice interface on the tapatalk android app. I'm not sure if the Jive clearspace software of this forum is supported or not, but it seems they have apis that offer different ways of integrating forums with their network.http://www.tapatalk.com/plugin.phpIf not, what are the chances of a dedicated Adobe forums app? It seems the editor now (and possibly for the past several days) wants to insert extra blank lines.  Not the ones you normally get while typing, but extra ones between typing and when the post shows up in the thread.When it does it, I have found I can even edit the post and remove the extra blank lines, only to have them reinserted after the post is updated again (or maybe that's just the "sometimes the edit doesn't take" bug rearing its head).A minor annoyance, to be sure, but just one more little thing wrong, raising the blood pressure incrementally...-Noel

I haven't run across it, but does this forum support the ability to have one user just not show posts from another particular user?  Sometimes some folks just don't want to hear from specific others, and that would be a handy way to make life more pleasant...-Noel

Is the CSS on the site messed up? I'm not getting bolded text for unread threads plus "updated" isn't listed on threads that have been updated.But some of the ones I've already visited are a little lighter blue than the others.

The search function on this site doesn't seem to work properly. If I try to do a search on a specific forum via the 'Only this forum" function on the right side of the page (which doesn't seem to appear on every forum) or by selecting 'More options' from the search page, I get 0 results. Example - If I search the 'Photoshop' forums specifically, and enter 'Photoshop' into the search criteria, there are no results. I get the same results entering 'Acrobat' into the Acrobat forum, and on any other forum I have tried. It doesn't matter what I type into the criteria, I get 0 results. This happens both on a mac running Safari, as well as on my PC running IE.

I was in the Reader forum and needed to take a look at arecent post. For this, I had to go to the second page of the list. In both, the list of Top Participants looked its normal:I opnened the wrong message on page 2, and tried to go back to the list of topics using the "Back to Reader Discussions" button, which worked. But the list of Top Participants had changed to this:And it went back to "normal" on reentering the Reader forum using my bookmark.Addition: I have tested in other forums and I get the same expansion of the list on going back. Started 9AM West Coast USA - several "false" logouts.I had a message all ready to go, and between composing and clicking post... I was logged out.I have been a member of the Adobe forums since Premiere 6x days, to learn and help when I can.Now, due to either a lack of resources provided by Adobe... or the Jive software... the forums are part of the problem, instead of being the solution.It is really frustrating to take 30+ seconds to get to a forum, or a message inside a forum... and then find out I have been logged out when the screen finally opens.This problem has been here for several weeks, off and on, and it seems nobody is able to fix this problem... not a good public face for Adobe

Hi everyone,This problem has been bugging me and I've tried to change the settings a million different ways but it just doesn't work. Please help!I've been trying to open a Fillable PDF file that connects to a online server (to obtain information) using Adobe Acrobat X Pro, and every time this error message shows up:Network ErrorNetworkError: 0operation: getOrganismPartTypesUnable to establish network connectionBut I can go online no problem so I know it's not my internet.I can open regular PDF files no problem.  I tried to change the security settings and add the server and the file onto the safe list but it doesn't help.Anybody can help me out?  Please advise.Thanks so much!M

I've been uploading images as part of forum posts successfully for weeks using IE9 64 bit, set for Compatibility View.Suddenly, starting yesterday, using the little camera icon with IE9 64 bit, when I hit the [Browse] button, the entire IE window just disappears, losing the response in progress!Doing the exact same thing in IE9 32 bit works, and brings up the dialog with which to select a file.  So now the workaround is that I must use the 32 bit IE to access this site.Nothing is changing on this end.  No new Add-ons, no config changes.  Cache has been cleared to no avail.  Nothing appears in the Windows event logs.Can you folks please try a little harder to settle this forum software down?  It's getting rather frustrating to have features just keep dropping out like this.-Noel

There is this option Search this Forum Only. So i type in a word, in this case mp3.This is what i get when i hit OK.If i click on one of the links i am back where i started. More Options does not help either.Is it me or do i not understand how this search workes.I also would like to find all (not just the last 25 or so) the posts of one Person. How do i do that.Thanks

I wouldn't have noticed this, but for the fact that I decided to try out FireFox 4...When trying to upload an image in Internet Explorer, there is no way to type in a filename in the Upload Image: field, shown below.  The insertion point cursor can be put in there, but nothing can be typed.  The [Browse...] button, of course, works fine.Just because I needed to check some web work I happened to have FireFox 4 open, and I don't know why I tried, but lo and behold I could actually type something in there.  After the first character FireFox just popped up a file selection dialog, where I finished typing the filename.The field is even grayed-out in IE, whereas it's white in FireFox.Is this forum software particularly well optimized for FireFox then?-Noel

Good day I am interested in some Adobe product. I am an elected parent sitting on a High School Governing Board and school rep. on the School Board committee. I am not paid by the school/school board but part of a 20 members committee making decision about budget, school affairs, etc. My purchase is a personnal purchase. Do I fall under the "Student/Teacher" or the "Education" pricing? The "Education" section seems to imply that the purchase must be for the organization which is not the case. Please clarify for me. Yesterday morning I spend upwards of an hour catching up on the forums here that I visit, posting responses, etc. until I felt I had found everything I wanted to look at.  Today, by contrast, though (from where I sit) the response time is definitely a few seconds slower for each individual operation with Read Tracking enabled, I got through all the new posts in about 10 minutes.  And it was FAR more pleasant to do. It's not intutively obvious that this one little feature could be so important, but rest assured that it is.  This is a penny foolish and pound wise change.  It's good to know those can still occasionally happen.Thank you for re-enabling Read Tracking!If you do have future problems with it, please try harder to fix the problems rather than disabling the feature.-Noel

Okay, so what's new that the following is now intermittently happening with the web interface?1.  Hit Reply.2.  Post Reply to...  page opens.3.  Editor pane fails to open, it just stops with a minimal window showing and nowhere to type...This is intermittent, but seems to be dependent on something external...  Some days it almost never happens, sometimes it happens almost every time.Just hitting refresh, after the above occurs, will virtually always lead to a fully functioning reply window, including editor pane - so it's not a huge deal, but it's just another irritation.-Noel

Hi guys,My appologies for a basic questions but I am a new photographer and Lightroom 3 user and I would like to turn the setting on within development that allows you to view in red the amount of over or under exposure applies in the photo I am viewing once imported into lightroom. In my old software, when viewing an imaage, the photo displayed in red the level of under or over exposure, so I could easly adjust. How do I get this red exposure indicator in Lightroom 3.Any help would be very much appreciated.Thanks Biscuits

In the long series of things we all live with and tend to overlook...Not only does the editor insert newlines and force the cursor to the end of the line once in most messages, but sometimes it loses edits.For example, make a post, see a typo, go back to edit, make the change very quickly, then repost. If you're quick about it, the change is likely lost.  The more coffee, the more likely.I think it may be that you have to edit a post for a certain amount of time before the edit is accepted, but I'm not completely sure.  Maybe this is the same amount of time that normally elapses before the newline/end-of-line thing.  Maybe this is some kind of misguided security feature or protection against double posting - I don't know, but it's damned irritating to have to do things twice!-Noel
