I'm about a 3-4 months new to the forums.How come there is no Illustrator forum?thanks

Long user names such as the one shown below create havoc with the display of a page.  Take a look at the Lightroom forum to see what I mean.So, my request:  Enforce the use of shorter user names or truncate the name when displayed on a forum page.And the name is (nothing personal intended):[email address deleted by host]

I am awfully sorry to post this here but does anyone know if there is a Test Forum somewhere where people can test something out?I want to test posting something from my email account using yahoo, AOL, and/or gmail so that I don't have to rely on these slow forums.  I have tried using Hotmail but it is clearly failing and I have already posted the error message yesterday.  I must get this sorted out before the new week starts.I have searched everywhere but to no avail.Thanks you.

I asked DWILCOX01 to start a new thread when he asked about the forum email interface in All threads show up as read.I'm not sure why he didn't, but I am going to answer him here.The irony is the addressee is : "forums@adobe.com" and I can't see how this can get to the right forums!  There is absolutely nothing else to distinguish the message apart from the message itself.The Jive Clearspace software sets the Reply-To: header on email messages. Hi,The current forum software is awkward, unpractical and slow. The Search feature never worked correctly and now, the Read Tracking feature has disappeared, which makes the beast even more difficult to use.Why not use a standard forum software ? There are a lot of very good forum applications around that are quick, easy to use and that allow making effective searches. A non working search feature in these forums means more work for the support dpt. It seems that Adobe didn't understand this. So I'm wondering why they insist using this very strange thing.Not made in-house rejection syndrome?--Patrick

Virturally every time I quote someone I get gibberish at the top of the quote.  I'll demonstrate by responding to myself...I use Internet Explorer to access the forum.  As far as I know, there are no problems with it, though I'm pretty stingy about letting any sites run active content.  I'm not getting messages that an Add-on failed to run here, though.-Noel

I created a new thread, then went back to edit it to add an image.  Instead of success I got this highly descriptive error message:Clearly I have the ability to upload images, but apparently just not when editing the first post in a new thread.  I have been able to add pictures to response posts while editing them. I didn't notice until I tried to go find one of my old threads. O patient adobe_admin, can you fix my account again? I've tried all of the logging-out and cookie-removal techniques a number of times.Also, maybe it's time for an account-fixing megathread? I see plenty of threads like mine and it would make some sense to me if we could keep 'em all in once place.

On March 16  the forum software trashed my Photoshop Windows forum  profile.  Attempts to restablish my profile & history were unsuccessful following the process spelled out in the FAQ.In my case the account name stayed the same "Paulo Skylar" , no suffixes were added, but I have no history, no avatar, no photo,.....ADMINS :  I need someone to restablish my account on the above mentioned forum.Thanks,Paulo

When I logged in these forums earlier today, I experienced what I think may be a curious variant of the split personality syndrome. In Firefox 3.6.15 under Mac OS 10.6.6 I used my bookmark to this particular forum. When I came in, the "Welcome Claudio González" next to my new avatar was there as usual below the Forums title. But in the list of threads, there was a recent one initiated by me, in which my avatar was fine, but my name had some garbage added at the end. I therefore opened the thread, and there I appeared with my new avatar, the correct number of my posts and and my correct registration date, but with the same wrong name. I then opened my profile and, to my surprise, there was no photo, no history, no avatar, no recent activity, nothing. Everything was blank.Suspecting a possible Firefox problem, I closed Firefox without attempting to correct the problem, and moved to my Win 7 machine. Why Does Adobe have such terrible customer service? I am so suprised and disappointed to learn this. I have submit several requests for someone to call me back , via their customer service page. Nobody ever calls me back. I try calling them EVERY SINGLE DAY- Nobody answers the phone... not even after 30 minutes of waiting ! I purchased the teacher version of the CS5 package and submit my identification as requested. They keep sending me emails to inform they will cancel my order if they dont receive the ID. But i have already submit it ! So i am trying to get through to someone so i can give them the case number and ask them to verify that i have submit the ID ! Surely , this is not the job of the customer. Surely , for software as expensive as Adobe' packages , they should have a decent customer service support line where you are guaranteed to get through to a person who can help???? Several months ago I upgraded my Windows 98 Ed2 operating system to XP (Now have V3).  The Adobe Reader version 4.0 was brought over from the old system to the new and I cannot now uninstall this old version.  The problem is that a new version will not replace the older one as well.  When I attempt to uninstall the old version it tells me that all of the elements could not be removed and that they need to be done in another manner (I presume by manually removing them off the hard drive).  This same thing happend with the Norton Anti-virus program I did not uninstall prior to the operating system conversion.  In that instance I contacted Norton support and they went into the computer from there location using an exe. driver and successfully removed it without any problem.  I contacted Adobe support in a similar manner (chatroom) and the only thing that "Malahov" could offer was to consult the forum "since the reader download was free."  Here I am, can

I just noticed this morning that my acct said I've had 2 posts (now it will probably say a couple more).   I've  had more than that and under Your Stuff it only  shows today's posts.   I've gone to History>Show Entire History and  it has only today's posts. Also, I noticed I now have some numbers and letters after my screen name.I posted a question about this in this DW forum and was told to post this here and someone would fix it.Thank you.

My old Windows XP PC crashed (please don't laugh).  My version of Illustrator did not work on Windows 7 so I had to upgrade it. Now I'm trying to install my fonts.  I have the Bickham Script MM.  I've searched this board and the internet to get the install instructions.  My old pc was backed up, and I have the .mmm .pfb and .pfm files.  When I right click on the .pfm file and choose install, I get an error message: "the file <file name> does not appear to be a valid font".  I close this dialog box then a box pops up that says it's installing the font with a progress bar.  Looks like it's doing something, but when I go to the fonts folder, it's not there.  I am trying to do wedding invitations and I urgently need this font, as the bride has approved them from designs on my old PC.  Any ideas?
