When one starts typing in Search a content window appears below with suggestions. When I click on one of topics the window immediately dissapears and then message bar in lower left says Done, but nothing comes up. I even minimized screen to make sure it was not hiding somewhere. Have seen this problem persist for a few days, but have not seen anything in the forum on it.Is it my system, or a bug? Using Vista 32 OS.
Adobe Fourms does not work with Opera too well. I have to use in Opera "Identify as Firefox just to post this message!I also have run into the same junk with Hotmail.Web Design Tip: Always code for Opera and all other browsers will fall in line most of the time.
This is a genuine, well-known quote by Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian spiritual leader and activist:• A customer is the most important visitor on our premises, he is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him.• He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. • He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. • We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so.Employees of any entity, whether in government or in private business, will do well to keep it in mind and at heart. The recent post by Kathy Nguyen, universally well received here, shows that she knows this principle and puts it into practice. However, a few Adobe staff and associates seem somehow to think that Adobe's customers are lowly adversaries in some sort of Internet game or in a newsgroup. Those who manifest that misguided and poisonous attitude in this forum and in their blogs are showing their incompetence and their
I noticed that a particular thread which receives new replies doesn't pass the "new reply" status along to the thread index so that the (Updated) text-flag gets appended to the thread title.5. I have an older version of photoshop. It is CS2 My computer crashed and I am trying to install it onto my new computer. I do not have the 7.0 version anymore does anyone know how I can install it? Thanks Peggy
To restrict searches to posts by particular users, you’re forced to use the Who field of the More Options of search. But the Who field has several serious design flaws, making it likely that many people will have problems using it:1. The Who field requires that you enter a screen name, not first/last name. The accompanying help and search tips don’t tell you that. Most users are going to enter the name they see appearing in the message, but if the poster has set the profile option, her first/last name appears instead (E.g. “Barbara Brundage” instead of “Barbara B.”, “John Ellis” instead of “johnrellis”). This is more likely to occur with frequent contributors. 2. It is very difficult to find the screen name of a member who has chosen to show first/last name. The only reliable way I’ve found to find a member’s screen name is to reply to a message she’s posted and click Quote Previous Message (don’t forget to type a space first). The member’s publ
1. When you click on a thread go to the place you left off reading. Why Jive can't do this makes no sense Webcrossing did it.2. Eliminate the logging out issue when posting or jumping from forum to forum. Webcrossing could do this in fact you only had to login once and you were logged in forever. Both of these things cause this to be a slow forum now. and that has nothing to do with how slow they actually are.
It says : The following translators were not loaded due to errors: spry.htm: has configuration information that is invalid.... Than I cannot INSERT any pictures or INSERT even tables.... The same message appear everytime... Pls help me what should I do to correct ? I have CS3 dramweaver...Thank you very much for your help...
Having great difficulty getting DW CS3 to load on new laptop with Vista 64bit OS. Anyone have any ideas. Everything I have read indicates that Vista supports CS3.
I just spent about a half hour reviewing a design example in the typography forum, offering that user what I thought was valuable advice. I was logged in at the time, but when I hit the post button, the system decided that I was no longer logged in, and told me that I had to go log in. Of course, my lengthy message was gone, and sorry, but I don't intend to spend another 20 minutes re-writing it.If this system is so callous to chew up my hard work in this way, I have no intention of continuing to use it. Today is my last day of posting on the Adobe Forums, after about 10 years.Good bye to all. It was a fun ride, other than the last few months.
The following Post, relating to Photoshop, for some mysterious reason ended up in the Dreamweaver forum:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/186139?tstart=0
Since yesterday emails from my forum subscriptions reverted to sort into clean threads - this cookie turning the emails into singletons is hopefully gone forever. Many thanks to whoever found the plug ...Dirk
I have made a site that uses many SSI's. It all works fine however now the client needs to present the site without an Internet connection. They want to use Dreamweaver and use a local browser to go through the site. All the links are absolutes since that is the way I understand you need to make SSI links. Is there anyway that I can make the links relative and thus be able to do the presentation.http://www.captneli.com/lessons/Thanks,Nancy
I tried the new forum, but the first things that bugged me were the ActiveX controls that are used. There should be no such controls in a forum. They are a serious security issue. I set my browser to prompt for ActiveX controls and I don't want to press 'no' each time I get a page displayed. Adobe please fix this! Marcus
Okay... no wise a$$ ones , i know what 'Updated' means! What i meant was in the listing, some topics have an "(Updated)" and some don't.So why does that happen? Does it imply that a previous post has been edited?JJ
I don't care, but I'm intrigued by some of the weird and 'wonderful' ways of these forums. So I went to a 'Top Participants' box and clicked 'show all participants'. I wonder if I'm the first to bother with this - it really is extraneous fluff.Anyway, rather than all participants, I got the names of the top three only. Followed by a list of posts by a whole range of entirely different people. I'd really love to get rid of these speed-consuming twiddly bits, that don't even work as advertised, and get these forums stripped back to what is quick and useful.
Here's the thread:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/416472?tstart=0Please see kanguyen's responses. If only we had more like 'k', i think half the angst felt in the switchover would have been reduced.John C is, of course, another one.Three cheers for John C & Kanguyen!
Ok, could someone explain to me exactly what determines a "popular" discussion?
Am I missing something? When I go to any given individual forum to look for information, I see the Search Forums box at the top of the page, but it searches ALL the forums. How incredibly useless!!!!!You know, some time back, the Adobe forums worked in Outlook Express, Windows Mail, and most any decent newsgroup reader. It appears that Adobe removed that feature from users... which wouldn't be the end of the world IF the forums actually functioned worth a damn. But ever since Adobe (sort of) took over the implementation and admin of the forums and made them only available through the Adobe website, the forums have crashed and burned.Overall function has gotten worse and worse, the searchability is now ZERO and USELESS which is the whole point of forums.Adobe is WHOLLY supported and is ENTIRELY in existence only because users spend a fortune on their software; and that's perfectly fine of course. But you'd think as much money as Adobe rakes in from loyal us
OK. I've clicked on the "Overview" tab, or whatever it is, and the only result I see is that *sometimes* additional items added to the top of the page. However, if I click on "Overview" again nothing happens. Huh?Does this 'feature' serve any useful purpose?
My mistake, sorry, it's PS CS3 not PS3. I did load the Canon Software for EOS and the Wacom tablet software and that is all I can recall doing on this computer before opening Photoshop. Any suggestions would be great, need to fix this fast so I don't get further behind. Thank you!
I think the bottleneck holding up attachments is fixed: [Yes, straight in. Thanks to whoever sorted that one out]
1) When I go to personalize it I want to add the widget "my discussions" so I can follow mine. It just has popular and recent ones which dont interest me. Plus, if I click on "Your stuff" then choose discussions, its supposssed to be my discussions, but its empty and I have at least one I started and one I replied on.2) I also can't choose the widget legend that has the checkmark and X to communicate if your question has been answered. I think that is a great tool but not sure how to add it. In fact, my post was answered but I couldn't check that.I do like the new forum's direction and hope that when they get to it, these isssues will be resolved.
I'm working on a site that my new employer has files published to a server called webshell, and I'm having trouble connecting to it thru dreamweaver. I'm getting the following error...Can anyone assist me?
In the old forum you could mark your own answer as correct. Now that is not possible, presumably because of the reward system (would be silly if you could reward yourself.) However, it is true that sometimes you solve your own problem and post your findings, and it would be good for reference if you could mark it as the answer.New forums rock BTW. Some of the layout is a bit unfamiliar but the feature set is great.
