Please, please, please - break the forums down more (more 'folders'). The infinite list of all discussions makes finding anything relevant almost impossible. At minimum break things down by version, when having an issue with CS4 I don't need to search through things about CS2. As it stands the only way to find an issue is with the brute force of a forum search, there's no just looking through to see if there is an active discussion - the signal to noise ratio is too high. Take a current a discussion, "CS3 and printing to an Epson 7800 (Mac OS10.5)", it's path looks like: i Support:User to User Forums:Adobe Product Forums:Adobe Photoshop:Photoshop Macintosh I'd like it to be: i Support:User to User Forums:Adobe Product Forums:Adobe Photoshop:Photoshop Macintosh:Version CS3:Technical Issues:Printing:Printer Setups Or something like that - you get the idea. And while we are at it, the search only needs to return one hit for any given discussion - pages of hits from the same discussi
When you post a question and include an attachment like a DXDIAG.TXT, is it NORMAL to have to wait MORE than 6 hours for it to become available? This is ludicrous. You can better send attachments by snail-mail than posting here on the forum.
Since the switch over it seems that less people are coming to these forums or at least less questions are getting asked. Has anyone else noticed this too?
This threadhttp://forums.adobe.com/message/1921550contains references to UNC paths. In the web forum, these get translated to links with href=#, and when the post arrives as an email, all the message contains is the '#' and not the '\ \server \ share' I would have expected to see. Could someone please ask the powers that be to rectify this?Noel
...continued from the discussion in the "Spam" thread after John C added the "URL", "Bio" and "Products/SysInfo" fields, here:http://forums.adobe.com/message/1930765#1930765"Edit Profile should now show places for a URL, a brief (1 line or so) bio, and a list of products you use."I know what follows is merely an academic observation, but it's still kind of indicative of the attention to detail paid by the Jive programmers. Thi post is meant to act as a heads-up for users editing their profiles, and as something that should be passed along to our good pals on the Jive team.I was concerned about the "...brief (1 line or so)..." limit for the "Bio" field. I wanted to test the character limit. I entered the following string, but WITHOUT the spaces (for a total of 521 characters):a123456789 b1234567890 c123456789 d123456789 e123456789 f123456789 g123456789 h123456789 i123456789 j123456789 k123456789 l123456789 m123456789 n123456789 o123456789 p123456789 q123456789 r123456789 s123456789 t123
Here's some more problems:1) Sending text like this: " [ No Parargraph ] style " causes the "No Paragraph" to become a false link2) I'm getting a lot of "& nbsp:" at the beginning of lines of code when I enclose code in [ code ][ /code ] blocks (copied and pasted from BBEdit).
John,I would like to pose a problem I have:I joined the webx Forums as pjonesCET under my email address (starts as pjones1@) and my name Phillip Jones. My Adobe Store Account is PjonesCET, with the same Name. Before the webX system died I changed my USER ID to PjonesCET with the same name.If I sign in under my email address now. It comes up Properly as PjonesCET /Phillip JonesHowever; If I sign in under ther USER ID PjonesCET It shows up as:Pjones, CET/ name is PHILLIP JONESThis was the Use rname I had when I joined the Macromedia Newsgroups Related to Studio8/DreamWeaver.Is there any possible way that both these can be merged under the PjonesCET ID I now user and do away the other. I don't care whether the post count I had with the other account carries over or not.I just want to use my USER ID PjonesCET and be signed in as PjonesCET as I currently am.
I can't find him in the people list - anybody seen him around or know if he joined the new forums?
(http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.xxxxxxxx/ etc)Will the new forums eventually redirect old-style forums urls? For instance, http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b5c4e8/ should redirect to http://forums.adobe.com/community/lightroom/lightroom_sdk (etc). My bookmarked threads, links within old threads, google search results (haha) are becoming largely useless...
Hi all,I cannot start any of the adobe softwares in cs4 with non-administrator account in my client machine. I already have full control rights for all the folder and harddisk, however I still cannot start any of the softwares. When I tried to start photoshop or any cs4 software, there will be an error prompt saying that the licensing for adobe product has stopped working and asked me to restart the com. I tried restarting, but it doesn't work at all.I tried calling the adobe support and the service person said that cs4 softwares can only work with administrative account. I cannot have everyone in my work environment to have administrator account, is there any other solution to this problem. I think this is a major security flaw in cs4. Adobe cannot expect everyone to have administrator right in an enterprise environment. Please help. Thanks
...it kills the "Full Text Editor" from loading. And since the link for composing a message in HTML is wrapped in the Javascripted F.T.E., I can't access it, either.I just had the fleeting idea to try disabling Java, and then Javascript (and then both) in my browser (Firefox 3.0.x on Mac OS X 10.4.11) to see what would happen.SUMMON-A-MITCH!!! The pages load almost as fast as they used to in the WebX forums.Too bad it kills my ability to also participate.
I'm currently appearing as having joined the forums this April, but I've been around since around 2005 in my previous incarnation. Anyone know how I could get that updated?
Selecting a specific forum from the list of all forums is a little difficult. The list box is small, so you can only see a few at a time as you scroll through a list that contains many dozens of subforums. Also, the order that the forums are listed in that list box is hard to understand (seems arbitrary?). I had to scroll through the entire list line by line carefully reading each one because I had no way of knowing when to expect the entry I was looking for. Also, just accessing the "advanced search" (or whatever you want to call the ability to search only within one or more specific forums) is a little more difficult than it used to be. I would prefer it if a link to that page was part of the standard forums-browsing UI, say a second button next to the "Search Forums" text-entry field.
Hi Adobe Forum,I have participated in Indesign Scripting forum, I have answered Exporting to INX question, they have accepted my answer, but i didn't receive points.Regards,Sudar
In crummy IE 8.That's right, at the bottom of a multi-page post, you can't even click to the last page (or any page) because the links are OVERWRITTEN by that other link.Come on, that's terrible, Testing 101 for dummies would have caught that! "Jive clearspace" sucks.
Another little niggle - I'm set to 30 (tried others but they don't stick). But a 16 post thread goes on to 2 pages.
I can't imagine that the executives who make the real decisions about what resources, and how much, to channel toward these forums aren't already aware—to some degree—of the concepts outlined in the article I'll paste below. But it sure wouldn't hurt for them to read this story from the NYTimes (via Slashdot) about the enormous value—both in a goodwill sense and in a financial sense—that peer-driven support sites such as this one adds to a company. According to the article, they figure "...a vibrant community can easily save a company MILLIONS OF DOLLARS PER YEAR.[emphasis mine. Phos....]"That said, it seems to me that it sure would make a lot of sense to pay VERY close attention to the suggestions and complaints of the so-called "super-users." This type of regular contributor should not be made to feel like an annoyance for complaining or making suggestions; indeed they should be made to feel as if they are valuable. Because that's EXACTLY what they are, and in a very real financ
hi,I am facing a problem in the alerts.I am just dragging a text from the linkbar (<mx:LinkBar>). That time I am just throwing an alert.' Do u want to remove the text? 'In the alert box for both OK and CANCEL its displaying as null null.below is my posted code.Alert.show("Dragged item '"+draggedLinkButton.label +"' will be removed from Favourite List.\n" + "Do you want want to continue?", "Alert", Alert.OK | Alert.CANCEL, this, favouritesRemoveHandler, null, Alert.OK);Also Iam attaching the images. Also Im using super panel opening as a pop up to display some contents. If Iam opening the super panel and after that if I drag any text from the linkbar, now the Ok and CANCEL button gets appear. It would be greatful if any one can point where im wrongThanks a lot .selva.
The old links refered to in threads before the change over do not work. Is this just another example of poor design of a deadend street, or is there a work around?
I replied to this off topic message by Sooty1234:http://forums.adobe.com/message/1920588#1920588and, as you can see, I received a message from jiseguerrero, who hadn't been in that thread at all, saying that s/he had received my reply to Sooty1234!I have my doubts that such a thing can happen. Anyone else has seen something like this, or heard of it happening?
I've seen a couple of threads that seem to have been started in the wrong forum and later moved to the correct one - a brief note from whoever does that would be welcome to clarify. Thank you.
Is there any possible way to get a copy of the syntrillian wind chimes program? It was the best chime program and it's a shame that it's not available.

Obviously, the number of posts and the starting date are unrelated. As far as I can see, the number of posts is the number of posts during the last year, more or less, of the fair forums, with the addition of new posts in the present forums, and possibly a number of posts in the old MM forums within a certain, possibly much longer, period. My number of posts corresponds fairly well with the actual number which could be found through a simple name search; some posters have quite large numbers, such as more than 9,000 and 16,000. How is it exactly? Some of us have a rather late starting date, much later than our fist postings; for a number of us, it is round 1st August 2006. Is that because of some forum restart that somehow only affected some members, or is it a coincidence? As far as I remember, I only registered online long after starting on the applications and posting in the forums, and I have reregistered a number of times after that in connexion with reinstalling on new hard disks; p
I just submitted a test of the "Report Abuse" form, using John Joslin's post here:http://forums.adobe.com/message/1920282#1920282I assure you I picked it merely for the sake of convenience. The reason for doing this was just to obtain a screen shot of an error. The error I'm speaking of happened every other time I tried to submit an abuse report (3 or 4 times) where I had entered text into the "Additional Comments?" field. The comments in all cases was no more than a couple sentences long, and had no so-called "bad" language (unless there are "secretly bad" words like "b u c k e t' which would cause problems). The text I added to the test report indicated that it was ONLY A TEST. So, if a host looks at it, and my text comes through, they will see wording to that effect. But wouldn't you know it, this time the report went through. (Sorry, J.J.!) So I couldn't get a screen shot of the error.I don't know if the problem has been fixed overall, or if it just so happened that this time it work
