Hi everyone... My organization is running RH 2017 right now. I know we can export our RH files as a .pdf through RH itself, but is there a way for a user to export the RH files from the application that are being used in from the UI? If you try and do that now through, say, IE or Chrome, it will only create a .pdf for the page the user happens to be looking at in the UI. Thanks in advance.
Such a beginner question!I created a new Topic just as an experiment, named changelist. My intention is to use this internally only for my own reference, so I do not want it included in my output.Output is Microsoft HTML Help (CHM) and there are no Condition Expression's configured. My new Topic is NOT present in the output, which is what I want - but I don't know why not! It has Status 'Draft' so that could be why, but I can't find any information on what Status are included in the Outputs and which are not.Can anyone help please?!Thanks
Good afternoon, For RH2017, is there a way to have the search feature to only look for search words within topic titles and not within the body of the topic? OR to be able to keep the dropdown text from auto collapsing when a word is found from the search results?
Hi, is it possible to integrate Robohelp 11 with Azure DevOps server for version control? Thanks, Anne
OK,So, working on a merged help project in RH2019. As we all know, there's very little that you can do in RH2019 at the parent project level for propagating files down through the projects - I set up variables in one of my merged projects and add or edit variables, I have to copy the updated variables folder over to all the other projects With 20 merged projects, this is tedious and mind-numbing and prone to errors. Rick Quatro, who is a script developer extraordinaire (some of you might know him through Framemaker) has developed a script that lets me automate such a process and it has saved my time and sanity. You can copy files/folders w/ this script, rename files, replace files . . . It has allowed me to keep all my projects in sync w/ minimal overhead. I have included a screen capture of the very easy and intuitive UI for the script. If you're interested in this script, you can contact him at https://www.frameexpert.com/. And if I have broken any rules on this forum
I upgraded from 2019.0.9 to 2019.0.11 last night fix an issue. After the upgrade, my 1540px x 1004px image (a png from a Visio diagram) is shrinking to fit my page width in the editor. It previously did not shrink to fit. The existing image map hot spots remain where they are, so don't align in the image map editor. However, in HTML5 output, they align correctly. They also look correct comparing coordinates with the coordinates of the zones in the image. When I've published, the links are correct. If I create a new page with the same image and add an image map, when I publish, the link is in the wrong place (because I drew it on the shrunken image). This is a problem because if I want to add a new hotspot to my image map, I can't. Well, I can, by hand-coding it in HTML. a) is this a known bug on track to be fixed?b) is there a way to set/override the page size in the editor so that it's large enough for the image not to shrink to fi
I need to add a link to a specific heading in a topic. What I know is that Bookmarks should do that, but when I bookmark a text and try to insert a bookmark in another topic, I don't have the option to choose from the bookmarks I've added. Any advice?
Does the "Click here to see this page in full context" link still exist in the Responsive HTML5 outputs for RH 2019? This is the link that would appear at the top of a page when you follow a direct link.I'm publishing a project with the Azure_Blue HTML5 output. I've done a bit of customizing with colors, but nothing major. I can't seem to find any options for turning this link on or off. I also looked in Project Settings.I'm using RH 2019, not RH 2019 Classic.Thoughts?
Hello, I'm managing a merged chm project. After every modification in a subproject, I have to manually copy the resulting chm file in the asset directory of the main projectI was just wondering if it was a good idee to use the asset directory of the main project as the output location of the subprojects. In that case I do not have to copy manually the chm files after every compilation.best regards, Olivier
Hello, I'm maintaining long time existing chm files. They migrated through several earlier version of robohelp and finally in RH2019. The local experience in RH is not available, so I have to rely on this fantastic forum!I'm confronted with a behaviour that is maybe normal but in my case not wanted.I'm working with a main microsoft html help, consisting of seperately compiled html help files. So every chapter in my main project is a separate project in RH. I don't know why it is like this, but that's it.in the subprojects there is an output property 'default window'. This window should be in fact the window of the separate main project. But it does not appear in the dialog as name, and I cannot populate/change the available names. How can I designate a window from another project in my output properties or how can I determine what the default window should be.best regardsOlivier
Hi, I am just starting to dive into RoboHelp. I have the need for end users to be able to add like a favorite list topersonalize thier view, or be able to add highlights. Is that something RoboHelp can do, or does anyone have ideas ? Our document is a procedures manual, around 1800 documents and some workers only use certain sections. Thank you Tori
Hello,Just wondering how I can make sure that no window is opened on double click in a topic from the toc. I want the topic to be shown in the existing windowI've looked in several places, but nowhere found the property to set this.I'm guessing it is in output tool pane, windows settings, but then...what property has to be checked or unchecked to prevent opening a new window?best regardsOlivier
In previous versions of RoboHelp, there was a way to print a single topic (File > Print Design). In RH 2019, however, that's gone, and I can't find any way to quickly print a topic to PDF for review. Is there any way to print just a topic or two without generating the whole project?

Hi, I have an issue with Japanese (and other Asiatic language like Chinese etc...), the TOC has not well formatted characters. After a lots of debugging I found that the whtdat*.js are corrupted characters.Altought I selected the Encoding "Japanese" in the WebHelp interfece, the whtdat*.js are produced in UTF-8 format and so they are illegibile. What I have to do to see the right characters in the TOC section for Asiatic Languages? Thanks
Which RH file stores the settings for conditional tags on the content (.htm pages) and conditional tags applied to the project files? Background story: sorry, it is quite long.My ex-coworker has been using RH2019. I am still using RH2019 Classic. Due to an upcoming release I haven't switched to RH2019 yet. When I open his .rhpj file in RH2019, I can see that he has conditions applied to the project files, the content (.htm files), and the TOC. However, I can't generate the files (in RH2019). I'm not sure what the cause is. For one he has a lot of broken links. I also added his project to TFS (not sure why he never did). I was successful in saving a profile, but I keep getting prompted that the TF file is missing. I honestly, do not have time to learn RH2019 right now due to the deadline fast approaching, but I do need to generate his files as there are changes that are needed by the customer. My work around was to create a new project in RH2019 Classic, and I
Can RoboHelp be used to import and export different RoboHelp projects?I'm looking to create seperate RoboHelp projects for different modules of the system that I am documenting. I then want to be able to add or remove these as necessary for different configurations of the system. For example,Project AProject BProject CProject DOne system may only use information from Project A and D, whereas another system may use A, C, and D.Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone can point me in the direction of some useful information about this. Thank you.
Hello all, I recently noticed that I have missing pages in the TOC. I am not sure what is going on. I have deleted those pages from the TOC and then created and linked them again several times by different ways. I republished and cleared my cache, but still not resolved. I have also notice I can't search my project containing that information either when published to the web, but if I have a direct link I can see the information. If anyone has feedback that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rachel
the tabel of content is composed of subprojects of the chm type. The names shown in the toc editor are the name of the chm files. Once compiled and run the toc entry name is different. It is that name I want to change...I suppose it is in the respective chm project. But where....thx for the help
hello, I'm confronted with a strange issue. I'm not a RH wizard, just beginning to grasp it.A collegue misplaced two projects in a other project. If I move them via explorer and try to upgrade them, I have an immediate error msg, with no details. If I open them where they are, with the classic version, adapt an error in the used css. (thanks for that) and save it, I can upgrade to the modern RH version. I suspect paths are kept somewhere. How can I move these two projects and upgrade withoud errors?best regardsOlivier
Hi,I have some quick questions around latest SEO friendly Robohelp 2019.1. Can we insert something like this in every htm pages and take user inputs. If yes, where this data will get stored. How can I view that data provided by user. 2. Can we insert something like this in every htm pages. If yes, from where this data will come. 3. Can we add footer in robohelp. If yes, how?
I am using Robohelp 2019, and the thumbnail feature works great as long as the topic page is still inside of the frame. If I right-click a topic and open it in a new window, the thumbnails no longer work. Is there a setting I need to check somewhere? The images ARE checked for "Use Thumbnail" and my Output Presets have "Create thumbnail for images" checked as well.

The same error re-appears. This happens with all my Robohelp projects, but only for CHM output. Other output is fine. Can anyone help please? ThanksLaura
