I have been using RH 11 for quite some time now. We are creating our manual in Word and link the chapters to RH. A while ago, our manual for which we create an output everyday could not be displayed in Firefox anymore (after an update) so we switched to Google Chrome but since then our cross references have been broken. These cross references only point to figures or sections within the same document, not to any external documents or other chapters. These cross references have been created "normally" in Word and work fine in Word and PDF files. I am grateful for any suggestions/help to solve this problem!!!
Hi,I am using the built in ‘Black’ theme (but I’ve tested some others too and they all behave the same way) to generate Responsive HTML help documentation for an application. The default ‘target’ attribute for the TOC div (when viewing on a small screen so that the TOC is collapsed) it set to “_top” (in Index.html). In this state, when the user clicks on the TOC (or the index or glossary) button, it crashes the application. To avoid this issue, we manually changed the attribute to “_self” and it doesn’t crash anymore. However, we end of with this situation when we click on the TOC button in collapsed mode: Each time the TOC is accessed, it reloads the entire page (including the title bar and the button bar. Is there any way to modify this behaviour without having to change the ‘target’ attribute of these buttons to “_top” or “_blank”? Thanks
I'm having difficulties with the "Insert Link" functionality in RoboHelp 2019. I've attempted to link files on my desktop as well as files on our corporate shared drive and neither file seems to open. Each time I select Local Files, browse for the file, type an appropriate name, and select one of the display in options and click "Link". Then I navigate to the preview screen of the authoring tab and click on the link. Rather than the file itself opening up, the browse files dialog box opens. Not sure what i'm missing here - anyone have guidance they can share?
I currently have two paragraph styles for two different bulleted lists in my css. In the attached graphic, the top bulleted list shows how these paragraphs are wrapping - w/ the text underneath the bullet. As I understand it, to create a bulleted list that has the indentation that I want with the text wrapping underneath itself and not under the bullet (the second list in the attached graphic), I must also have a list style that corresponds to the paragraph style, for example: p.Listing-bullet-1ol.p.Listing-bullet-1 If this is a true understanding, what properties do I define for the paragraph style and what properties do I define for the list style? If I have a completely incorrect understanding and need to set up my styles for bulleted lists differently, I would appreciate the assistance. I have searched the OLH for RH2019 and cannot find the information that I need. Regards, TVB
I'm using RH 2017, latest version. I have a large merged with Help system with a master project and serveral children help projects. I have a local ISS web server (localhost) I set up to test how files look like on a real webserver locally before pushing them up to the public. However, when I view the generated help on the localhost webserver, RoboHelp files look bad, like the screen layout formatting is somehow missing? But when I view the exact same files on the local disk drive itself, it looks fine (it also looks fine on the actual remote web server): Any ideas why and how to resolve this? Thank you in advance.
RH new UI. latest patch.I've put the PDF I want users to download in the assets/docs folder. See screenshot. However, when I generate the Online Help, it is looking for a file in downloads/help.pdfWhile I can get around this by copying/pasting my PDF into the downloads folder, I'd like to know if this is an actual issue or is there a setting somewhere else, eg in the Skin?, that's setting this downloads folder. thanks.
I am trying to install ROBOHelp 2019, but somehow it stucks at 95% only. I have lincense for the same.I tried many times but no use. I installed Adobe Creative Cloud also, but still issue is there. Can anyone please tell me what are the prerequisite for installing ROBOHelp 2019?
When I add keywords in the "Search" section in topic properties and click Apply, I found it not saved. For See also, I cannot edit the links although I've added See ALso Keyword. Am I missing something?
My company has recently migrated from RoboHelp 2017 to RoboHelp 2019. In our .chm files, we have used tables with alternating row shading (white/transparent and light gray). We've added more rows in the middle of a table and I now need to redo that shading. I have been able to add shading to rows but can't seem to remove the pre-existing shading. Has anyone else encountered this?
Hello! Recently I had uninstalled and reinstalled Robohelp 2017. Now when I try to edit an image using "Edit with Roboscreen capture" option, Roboscreen capture does not respond. But when I directly open the application and make changes in it, it does reflect in Robohelp project. How can I fix this?Thank you..
I'm using RoboHelp 2017 (WebHelp as primary output). In one of our project, the Search button does not work in the QA environment, but works fine in Production. We've discovered that the problem lies in IE; everything works fine if we use Chrome. So, my question: Is there some way to address this in RH, i.e., address the issue of browser compatibility? Thanks,Lon
I am using the trial version of RoboHelp 2019 and I'm importing a Word document with topics created for each Heading 2.After import, the topics are listed in Contents alphabetically. I think this has always been the way. The interface provides arrows to move up/down to order the topics the way you want them in the TOC. Doing this process is mildly entertaining when you have a project or two. But when you have many projects, ordering the topics becomes time consuming. Is there a way for the topics to be imported in the order they exist in the Word document?
I am trying to create my list to look like this and can't figure it out. Please help!
Texts in published content are highlighted to identify the content as "new" or change from previous version of the same document. Users need the ability to search for this content and display the topics where the content was highlighted. Is this possible in RoboHelp 2019? Thank you in advance
I work for a company where we are converting a grouping of documents from a siloed division into RoboHelp 2019. I am the Technical Writer and so are in charge of this process. I am running into an issue however where when I import Word Files into RH 2019, I get through the Word Import Settings and all seems okay, however when I go to press Import, it processes for approximately 10 seconds (15 page document only) and then throws this Application Error. Has anyone else seen this beforehand, and if so, is there any suggested solutions?
I have a RH2019 merged project and I have made absolutely sure that the same style sheet is being applied to all the child projects that are contained in the overall merged project. When I apply specific styles to text, however, these styles are not being applied consistently within topics for a single project or across projects. I have attached two screenshots showing this. In the first screenshot titled "Correct Indentation," I show a style named Listing and a style named list-result- bullet. They are being applied at the same level of identation as the numbered list steps in the procedure. In the second screenshot titled "Incorrect Indentation," I show the same styles, but they are NOT being applied at the same level of indentation. I have confirmed ad nauseum that I have the correct coding set up in the CSS for the numbered steps, etc. in each project and there is no difference in the paragraph tag that is assigned to the num
Robohelp 2019.0.9 merged project - how do I specify what is the page that is to be open when a user opens the Online Help? I want the first page in the first child topic listed in the TOC, but right now, it keeps opening to the first page in the second child topic and I cannot figure out how to change this.

We use RH 17 and Robosource Version Control. For one of the user in my team, RH is adding a paragrapgh in bullet list. Also, it is not saving her work. What could be the reason and how can we resolve it? See the attached Bullets.png.
I have been struggling to assist one of my technical writers with a continuing issue with her laptop failing to connect to our SharePoint Online site. Somehow, the connection profile (Team_RoboHelp) on her computer had gotten corrupted. If I go to "Open Connection," it would state (empty), but if I tried to create a new connection, it showed it still existed. To get around that, I uninstalled both RoboHelp 2019 and RoboHelp 2017 from her laptop, then reinstalled RoboHelp 2019. Now, it shows no profiles, and I'm attempting to create a new Connection.Collaborate > New ConnectionName: Team_RoboHelpVersion Control: SharePoint OnlineSharePoint Site URL: https://ourcompanyname.sharepoint.com/sites/Team_RoboHelpHonestly, it doesn't matter if I type the correct SharePoint Site URL or just enter gobbledygook, because the second I click on Login, I receive the generic "Application Error," which requests that we restart the application. It doesn't even TRY to contac
Using RoboHelp 2019 v8, I want to change the Start Page from index.htm to index.html for system configuration reasons. However, when I make the change in the Frameless Output Preset, the change is not saved when I make the change.Where do I make the change in the generated output please?ThanksMichelle
I have successfully created and tested a skinned WebHelp output. However, when I run the chm generated from the RoboHelp script "WebHelp to CHM Converter.jsx" and click in the Search box, it immediately displays an error dialog with the description:Unable to get property 'toUpperCase' of undefined or null reference! The error is thrown from the whutils.js file, line 178.I'm running RoboHelp 2017, v13.0.2.334Your help as always is greatly appreciated.
I'm trying to upgrade a project from 2017 to 2019. In 2017 a style could be set to use thumbnails however 2019 seems to do it on an image by image basis. Is there a way to set all images to Use Thumbnail in 2019?
Hello, Is there any way to make a generated Responsive HTML5 TOC mirror the appearance of a generated Microsoft HTML Help (CHM) TOC? Or, to put it in other words, is there any way to maintain the appearance of the TOC as it is displayed in RoboHelp's Table of Contents pod (small font, collapsible purple books, question mark icons for topics, etc.) when generating a Responsive HTML5 output? Thank you for any tips/help that you may have to share. Best wishes,Cameo
Hi all, We've been using Perforce for version control for our Robohelp projects for the last year or so with no problems. The P4SCC plugin from Perforce made it smooth and you could check in and check out and add new files and all that from Robohelp. Then sometime in the last year, Perforce got rid of the P4SCC plugin in favor of something called P4VS, which apparently is something you open through Visual Studio. Unfortunately, we're all writers and don't know anything about Visual Studio. We discovered this when we hired a new writer and I tried to install Perforce on her machine. Anyway, I know this is a Perforce thing, but that tool (and that tool's help) is written by devs for devs, and there's no clue how to make this new plugin work. The support people I talked to had no idea and suggested just checking in and out from Perforce itself. I thought I would ask here in case any of you have walked this path before and found gold at the end If not, th
