Is it possible in RH to but a conditional section into an HTM file?We need to put a little table containing some info for the authors into out HTML files such that it doesn't get into the final HTML content when thehelp is being built. There are these conditional build tags to exclude whole files from being included but it would be useful to allow certain portions of the file contents being turned off.--Christoph
All of a sudden, there are no fonts available from the drop-down list on the toolbar; just Times New Roman is available.
Hello all,Re: Linking Between and Among Merged Responsive HTML5 Projects:I am outputting to Responsive HTML5.I need to:1) Create a Master Project and Child Projects, and;2) Create links between Child Projects under a single Master, or;3) Create links from Child Projects to topics that reside natively in a Master ProjectI have to build an (effectively infinite) online resource manual for a government division.I'm at the beginning of this, building the master architecture. There will be a great number of child projects, but they will need to point to (link to) certain pieces of information that they have in common across the board, such as:a) Screenshots of a computer system used by gov workersb) Descriptions of various pieces of legislation, etcc) Code tables that workers have to refer tod) Other "appendix"-type thingse) Descriptions of various gov-issued mailings, etc.f) Variables and snippets and modular, reusable content that must
Hello All, I have been using Robohelp for some time now going all the way back to RH7. Currently using RoboHelp 10. I just created a RH10 Flashhelp project and I am having problems with the search results. Here is what I get. After Producing FlashHelp and opening localling to test search I get the followingIE 9: Search works correctllyFirefox 26.0: Search returns no results immediately, no long progress of searching almost instant return of no results.Chrome: same as Firefox.Hosting on IIS 6 Windows 2003 server R2 with Service Pack 2IE9: No search resultsChorme: No search resultsFirefox: No search resultsDoes anyone know of possible browser or RoboHelp generation settings that may cause this.Thank You,Anthony Padgett
I have upgraded to RoboHELP 2015 and have installed all 3 updates. When I generate a flash help and then run in IE11, the search function does not display any results. It looks like it's working (displaying Searching) but never displays any results. I see the full data text search in the pod and I see many .xml files generated. If I generate a webhelp, the search feature works but of course I don't have that sexy flash gui that my customer likes. Anyone else having this issue? Is this a bug? Can anyone suggest a workaround or a fix?
Hi!I have generated a chm project using the webhelp to chm converter. My first test was okay:hh.exe chm-file opens the welcome page with the tripane of the webhelp inside. My problem appears when opening a specific theme (hh.exe -mapid chm-file) which is the normal user case:It's only the content without header or Toc (1). You have to scroll up (2), find the "Show" button and click on it.Then you get the entire frame (3)(To scroll (2) is obviously not part of my display problem 😉How can I change this behaviour? I want to have the entire frame (including Toc and Header) immediately when opening hh.exe with a -mapid option.
I imported a Word doc into RoboHelp. The Word doc had its own style sheet, which was imported as well, but I created my own style sheet for the Help project and applied it to all topics.I'm having two problems with my CSS:Having added a new style to my custom style sheet and applied the new style to a sentence or image, when I go back to see if the correct style is highlighted in the Style pod, it's not. It has always defaulted back to either "Normal" or "None." I created a style for a numbered list and a bulleted list, but although the style is set up to have little spacing between each number or bullet, the list always ends up with 14pt spacing. When I right-click on the text and look at the paragraph settings, I see that the Before: setting is 14pt. My style is not set up that way, so it seems that this other setting is overriding my style. Many thanks for your help,Maura
Hi,I have a requirement where, I need to replace my Robohelp search button or add a new feedback button. When a user click this button he or she will be directed to a google feedback sheet. Is it possible to link a button with google sheet in robohelp 11. If so what is the process to do so.
I haven't' found much in the way of discussion regarding RoboHelp 2017. We need to purchase RoboHelp 2017 to be compatible with both Office 2016 and with Windows 10. We are currently running RoboHelp 11. Will my project open in RoboHelp 2017 and will I encounter any issues?
If I add a link to an external stylesheet to a topic, and save the topic, the link works fine. However, the next time I edit the topic, RoboHelp 2015 removes the link to the external stylesheet. I am required to use this external stylesheet for this type of topic because the stylesheet is used by a number of other authors and it refers to externally hosted image files. How do I either get RoboHelp to stop removing the link to the external stylesheet or to allow me to reference an external stylesheet in the topic properties?
Hi,While generating the primary layout (.chm file), I am facing this error: "Fatal Error: Unexpected error from Microsoft HTML compiler.Finished compiling HTMLHELP in 9 sec(s)Compilation complete."Please help me to come out of this. Suggest me what should I do to resolve this. Thanks,Khushboo Kaushal
Hi allI'm using Robohelp 2015 and am wondering if there is any way to change the default search and replace location. The default "Look in:" is "Current Window" which I would like to change to "Current Project".Does anyone know how to do this? Many thanksLaura
I am using RoboHelp 2015. I am trying to delete a specific conditional tag from the Conditional Tab pane and am getting the following message: "Encountered an improper argument". I can delete other tags, but not this specific one.
I've been asked to add some content to the CSS I use for our online Help content. This content relates to a livechat pop-up mechanism. One of the lines in the CSS code I've been given reads "background: #fff url("/dist/img/livechat_question.gif") no-repeat -5px -5px;"However, when I generate HTML5 output from RH, the resulting CSS does not include this URL - it gets stripped from the CSS, and we're left with "background:#fff no-repeat -5px -5px;"Any ideas?
RH11 webhelpPlease help me correct our CSS code to indent the bullets. This is how the list looks:* item one* item twoThis is how it should look (the bullets line up, they are not multilevel): * item one. * item two. This is our CSS code. :}.bulletname} list-style-type: outside disc; margin-top: 2px; margin-bottom: 4px; margin-left: 18px; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial;A friend indented them in HTML with div. Why does OneNote automatically insert an 'Open Notebook' file (file type MS OneNote Table of Contents) into my RoboHelp 11 projects? I track projects using OneNote but do not link between ON and RH.
For starters: I am using RoboHelp 2015, Multiscreen HTML5 output, creating exclusively for IE11 (since that's what my coworkers are forced to use on their work computers). Now to my question:I would love to be able to use the yellow fade technique to make it easier for my readers to see exactly where a link had jumped down to from the mini Table of Contents generated by RoboHelp. The problem I've run into is that when RoboHelp generates the link between the miniTOC and the headers, it adds an anchor tag in the form of:<a name="MiniTOCBookMark1"></a>I've discussed this before in a previous question. The yellow fade technique is easy and I think would work seamlessly in RoboHelp if the anchor link had an ID instead of a name, but the CSS ":target" selector doesn't respond to the "name" attribute.Has anyone found a workaround that allowed them to use this technique? I've been wracking my brain for something that would be easy to implement through the CSS without having to edit al
Hello,It seems a few people have asked questions similar to this but I haven't found a good answer. We create videos in Camtasia as MP4 files. We would like to insert the videos into RoboHelp 10. The output we are using is WebHelp and I need the videos to work in Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. I'm not HTML savvy, however one of the developers here helped me and we inserted this into the HTML:<video width="320" height="240" controls=""> <source src="VIDEO_FILEPATH" type="video/mp4">Your browser does not support the video tag.</video> And removed: <object data="VIDEO_FILEPATH.mp4" classid="CLSID:02bf25d5-8c17-4b23-bc80-d3488abddc6b" codebase="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab" type="video/quicktime" style="border: none;"><param name="src" value="Images/ConfiguringArcGISDesktopConnections.mp4" /><param name="autoplay" value="false" /><param name="autostart" value="false" /><
I have found that installing the Windows 10 anniversary edition update stops the Responsive HTML 5 output working when using the Microsoft Edge browser. I am using RoboHelp version 11. The problem is that the table of Contents is not displayed. The problem is caused by Active X content being blocked in the Edge browser. The content is displayed correctly in Internet Explorer. Has anyone else seen this problem please? Could you also let me know if this problem exists in RoboHelp version 2015? Thanks for any advice.
I pasted a small icon-sized image into my RoboHelp project, and the image is on the same line as my text, however the image is raised up a bit from the text. I want the image to be nicely centered after the line of text. I've used the HTML editor and added IMG Align=middle, but this does nothing. I don't know how to do this in a style sheet, if that's the fix. Here's what it looks like. I've also made it a hyperlink because it's a step in a process.I appreciate any advice you can provide.Thank you!
Greetings!I'm using RoboHelp 2015 and I want to output to the Webhelp format. I want to customize a few features in the Webhelp (like displaying a logo on the right side of the navbar), so I accessed the Output Setup, created a New Skin, selected Clean_Tangerine, made a couple of changes, and saved it under a new name. However, the new skin didn't appear in the Output Setup > Skins folder. I found the .skn file I created (in the !SkinSubFolder!) and tried to import the skin, but no dice: it still refuses to appear in the Skins folder and I cannot select it as a skin In the WebHelp Settings > Navigation panel. What am I doing wrong? How can I customize a WebHelp skin for my project?Note: I am NOT using Source Control (Sharepoint).Note2: Okay... I closed the project and re-opened it. I can now select the new Webhelp skin from the WebHelp Settings > Navigation panel, but it still doesn't appear in the Skins folder, which means the only way I can edit it is via HTML.--JD Hickeywww.d
I added an MP4 to a topic in my RoboHelp project using Multimedia on the Insert tab; however, when I generated the Responsive layout, a prompt saying an error occurred inside a plug-in contained on this page. Any suggestions?
We recently upgraded from RH 10 to RH 2015. We know one dhtml drop-down text issue existed before the upgrade, and the upgrade did not resolve it. We have another more serious issue now. We are not certain it began with the upgrade, but we detected it after having converted our projects to RH 2015 and republishing them. I'm listing both of them here in case they are connected. The known issue: The multilevel list styles work at the main topic level and inside the first-level dhtml drop-down text box. However, if we add a drop-down text box within a drop-down text box and apply a multilevel list style to text within the embedded dhtml drop-down text box, the topic appears fine on the design tab but loses the outline numbers and/or bullets in the preview and in the published version. Any idea what would cause the list not to display properly or how to get the multilevel list styles to work in this situation? (Yes, we know we can use list styles in
Is there any way to set default image properties? Every image I'm using in a project needs to have a width of 600 px, a 10pt bounding margin, and a 1 pt black single-line border. I have approximately 600 images to add in this project, and don't really want to subject myself to carpal tunnel by single-clicking through each of these settings in the Image Properties dialog for every single image.I'd be fine just setting default margins/borders and resizing each image manually, but I don't even see a way to create default settings for those. I suppose I could create the settings for one image and then cut and paste the HTML for the rest, but that seems an inelegant solution for as robust a tool as RoboHelp is.Does anybody have any tricks or hints for a more workable work-around?
I am trying to compile a WebHelp project using the RHCL command. I have RoboHelp HTML 9.0.2.271, running on Windows 7, and the project compiles fine from within the GUI. However, although the first part of the compilation (processing, updating, etc.) works using RHCL, the part where the WebHelp 5.50 template is applied is full of errors. For example:Template Error: can not resolve macro: WH_LNG_LoadingData..Template Error: can not resolve macro: WH_LNG_MergeError1Template Error: can not resolve macro: WH_LNG_MergeError2Template Error: can not resolve macro: WH_LNG_JS_alert_ProjectLoadingFail..Template Error: can not resolve macro: WH_LNG_PreTooltip in D:\CUACV9\Administrator WebHelp\!SSL!\WebHelp\whtopic.jsTemplate Error: can not resolve macro: WH_LNG_NextTooltip in D:\CUACV9\Administrator WebHelp\!SSL!\WebHelp\whtopic.jsTemplate Error: can not resolve macro: WH_LNG_Show_Navigation_Component in D:\CUACV9\Administrator WebHelp\!SSL!\WebHelp\whtopic.jsTemplate Error: can not resolve macr
