We are using RoboHelp 2015 and compiling a WebHelp project to be installed locally and called from our application. The help is accessed fine when the user selects the Help menu but when they click F1, they get the following script error. If I click Yes, the help seems to work fine but the error but returns if I close the help window and click F1 on the same or another window. This has worked fine in the past so we are unsure if it is due to a change in RoboHelp with 2015 or something else. Our developers have not changed how they are making the help call.I would appreciate any guidance you could provide.Thank you,Nita

I use RoboSource as a version control system for 3 writers on the same project. RoboHelp 11 is installed on each writer's local PC.  Then we connect to a server that has RoboSource. This worked fine until we hired a new writer in India. The connection speed to the server in the UK is too slow to effectively work.  Therefore, IT recommended that we install RoboHelp on the server in the UK and the writer would remote desktop onto that machine and the connection speed would be quicker.  It would only be one writer who would be accessing the RoboHelp installation on the server.  Is this a breach of licensing rules for Adobe?  I know in older versions, RoboHelp had to be installed locally to comply with the license.  Is that still the case or can I install it on the server and have a writer remote desktop onto the machine to use it?

I suddenly have duplicate breadcrumbs in my output project. However, my master page doesn't show a duplicate. Suggestions?

All Dropdown Content Lost After Upgrading to RH15I have upgraded from RoboHelp 9 to RoboHelp 15, and in the process, I have lost ALL content from ALL expandable dropdowns. Where once there used to be text and images in those dropdowns (expandable in the chm output), now after the upgrade there is nothing left. In my RoboHelp project, all dropdown text editor boxes are now empty. How do I restore the content in the dropdowns? Please help.Thank you,Gabriela

Hi, can you help resolve the following issue:The contents of the h. file for context-sensitive help for one of my RH projects (from a linked FM book)  gets  deleted  every time I open the  project file, select the book,  and click Update All  or Force Update All in order to synchronize content with the source FrameMaker files. This seems to me is a byproduct of the issue of all html topics being deleted upon project first update which is still the case for me with the latest RH patches, 7 months  after the issue was first  reported by me on the forums here  (https://forums.adobe.com/message/8697382)  or other users here https://forums.adobe.com/message/8355109#8355109  and here https://forums.adobe.com/message/8646307#8646307) ( In my project, the topics don’t simply disappear from view, but when  I click Update All, the Recycle bin gets filled with all 1300 + html topics)In other words:Each time I make a content change to my

HelloI've imported an FM book into a RoboHelp 2015 project. Many of the graphics appear (in both the editing pane and after generation) with a black line above them (and sometimes below them too). These lines were not in the original.When I open the graphic in a paint program, crop out the lines, and save the file back to the RH folder, it is not automatically refreshed. Still, when I delete the offending graphic from the topic, go to reinsert it, and browse to its folder, I can see, via its thumbnail, that the line has been removed. But when I re-insert it into the topic, the black line appears again!!!What is going on?RegardsGeoffrey Marnell

HiI have imported  a FM book into RH2015 and mapped FM styles to HTML styles. The text is correctly styled in the RH editor window, but when I generate WebHelp (both varieties), the output is not styled accordingly.When I look at the raw HTML, I can see that the text in question is wrapped correctly. For example, <span class="FM_bold">Status</span> ) is in the code, but the wrapped text does not get bolded. It seems as if the CSS is not being read, even though it is correctly referenced in the meta-tags.Any help?ThanksGeoffrey Marnell

I have been using Robohelp 2015 (of late) to maintain the help files on a VB6 app. I generate a CHM file, the forms in the app have context IDs, and the F1 key "just works" with VB6 in calling up the correct page.We are currently researching the possibility of moving over to a web-based-help solution using something like Responsive HTML5 (or similar - not committed to that particular flavour). I am getting pushback from the developers who are suggesting that VB6 is unable to handle F1 with help formats other than .hlp and .chm - is this true?It is not practical to revisit every form in our app (it's huge). The forms have their context ID and that's all they're ever going to have. I'm not a developer although I have some developement experience. We are willing to write some code to redirect the F1 to the new help as long as it's central; the problem I have at the moment is that the lead developer is saying it can't be done. Has anyone got anything I can go back to the dev team with that

Hi,Is there any way to get a list of all links inside a project?  Full URLs, relative paths, what have you -- basically anything that would start with the <a href=" tag.For various network architecture reasons that I barely understand and cannot influence, we have to change all our links to our merged projects to relative paths. But those links don't appear in the URL section in Project Manager.  I'm looking for a way to see them.Any ideas?Thanks!

What is the best process for upgrading from Rh11 to Rh15 to ensure backwards compatibility with our existing projects?We upgraded from Rh11 to Rh15 for Office 2016 compatibility, but had a number of problems with existing projects. Is it possible to change the background color of ToC pane in case of Responsive HTML output?Can any changes in backend code will help?

Hi. I have upgraded a RH8 project to RH2015. After fixing all issues from the upgrade, the project compiled correctly.However just recently, i noticed that the Master page i use is missing from the Output Setup window. The project compiles correctly but i can no longer edit the Master page (for footer date changes) in RH. The workaround is to open the .htt file in Notepad and edit there. I can't Import the Master page, RH says the file is already in use. So i am stuck with the workaround.Another recent bug in RH caused CHM files to double in size. After much angst, i found that compiling to a folder far, far away fixed the situation.These random bugs are quite annoying, especially when i can't figuring out what is going wrong.Cheers,Sue from Hobart

Using RH 2015, I am trying to edit the CSS sheet for an HTML5 screen layout. I don't know what I did, but before I did "it", the .css file in Output Setup had a Notepad-like icon and I was able to open it in the usual dialogue box. The layout elements looked like this:Then after the unknown event, most of the objects' icons turned into the baggage file icon, including the one for the css:Worse yet, when I double-click the file now, it tries to open SharePoint Designer. I captured the first image in this post from a separate project after I found this problem, so this is not a RoboHelp-wide problem. How do I fix it?

I recently noticed that my HTML5 output wasn't working on iPhone, iPad, and macOS Safari.First I thought something was wrong with my own scripts, but after some digging, I found that it's a bug in the native RH JS files.That means that none of your HTML5 RoboHelp projects will work properly on current iPhones, iPads, and Macs (= devices running iOS 10 or macOS Sierra).This is a major bug that should be addressed as soon as possible. The bug has already been filed by Alexandra Duffy one month ago, but it is still "Unverified": Bug#4192629 - Safari 10 update has caused HTML5 Help from RH to stop working​.Luckily enough, Edward Doris has already posted a bugfix in the above bug report. It seems to solve the problem on all devices. However, implementing the bugfix requires advanced JS knowledge.Please provide an official bugfix as soon as possible.

I just applied the 2015.0.4 update to Robohelp 2015 and I generated my project to test the content filtering... I'm finding that the filtering seems to work fine in topics, but in the Table of Contents it's not working anymore. To be fair, I can't say with certainty that this is an effect of the update, but this was working before in the recent past, and now I find that it is not, so it may or may not be related.Anyone else have any trouble with this?I'll give an example to show how mine is failing:TOC and Topic with tagging:Here it is in the Responsive HTML5 output with a filter applied:Three of those TOC items should be filtered out to only show Windows Server 2008 topics.I found this while trying to test some other new tags and filters, and came back to these that I knew were working before.

Hi,I don't have any source files. I just have the WebHelp folder only. This link Reverse Engineering  did not do much help as i have more than 200 files or topics.And each file has hyperlink and cross-references which are not working.My actual concern is the webhelp that I have is not compatible to IE edge. I found a .js but for that i need to generate the output again. For that I need to open my project file.I saw a good way to open a .chm file in RH and edit it.Can someone please help me out.

Hi All,Today I saw that in my output of HTML5 Help, the filter icon is displayed in the navigation bar, even though I'm not using filters. Previously, this icon wasn't displayed; as far as I can see, it shall be hidden if not used. I know that the filter icon is displayed, if I run into a "too many recursions" error with my merged project (this happens, if my Index gets too large), but then, the index isn't working and the search doesn't stop trying to load. Now, the output is working, even though the filter icon is displayed.As of today (or maybe a couple of days before), the filter icon (empty) is even displayed in the output of a single project, i.e. not large, not merged, nothing the like. Everything still worked fine on October 5th; no filter icon displayed in the merged project. Since then I haven't changed my output settings or anything; just a few minor spelling corrections and index shortenings.The icon is displayed in Google Chrome, Firefox, and IE 11.Does anyone know if ther

Hi, all.I need to download HTML Help project files from a slow server through a slow network connection.Unfortunately, the directory on the server contains every discarded working file, every source file, etc., etc. -- dozens if not hundreds of unnecessary files.There used to be a way to package just the working project files for a help project -- but waas it maybe ForeHelp that provided such a handy feature?Anyway, I need to do this now with RoboHelp 11 so I can download just the files needed for my project.How do I do this?Thanks!

Hi, I have some folders in Project Manager that contain several topics that are not in the Table of Contents, and have been hidden from searching. The topics are therefore not included in the generated output. However an empty folder is created in the output. Is it possible to hide this folder from the output as well? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hoping someone has ran into a similar issue, but afraid this may be too specific to my situation.I generated a project to Responive HTML 5 output and need to move the files onto a server so that the project can be linked to my company's website. But, I can't copy over the template and scripts (whxdata) folders. I can move everything else except these folders and each time I try it, I get an error message that says I need permission to move the folder. I have Admin rights to the server I'm copying to, so I don't know why it's restricting me.Is there a way around this or to fix this? Thank you for any advice/help you can provide.

I have renamed a folder in Project Manager in RoboHelp 11. A folder with the new name has been created, but the original folder still exists in Project Manager but not on disk. It contains a sub folder with an "h" icon, which I suspect is why I cannot delete it. The project is one of three child projects in a parent/child environment. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
