In RobHelp 10, the Style and Font boxes in my project keep flashing and changing. How do I fix that?
Question:The IE11 and Chrome fixes on Adobe's web site instruct you to put their new files in the RoboHTML templates_stock folder. However, I need these fixes for RoboHelp for Word. Is there such a fix? Background:I am using RoboHelp 10 for Word, generating WebHelp.I'm trying to fix the issues regarding TOC, Index, and Search either not appearing or not being completely functional in IE11 or Chrome, both of which many of our customers use. I have found a couple of workarounds that my boss does not like.In IE11, if the end-user adds the web site to the Compatibility View list, they all appear and work correctly, but my boss is adamant about not wanting the end-user to have to do anything to fix the issue. In Chrome, I can get a TOC and a non-functional search to appear if the end-user disables JavaScript for the site, but this solution also breaks the See Also lists in the help. Again, my boss does not want the end-user to have to do that. Her solution is just to generate it using the Pure
I am completely new to Robohelp and very confused.I need to find every line in the .xpj that uses the 'Letter1' or 'Letter2' style and change it to the 'Normal' style. Is there a way to do some kind of Ctrl+F search for lines that use a specific style? Or is there an easier way to do this rather than manually go through every page and topic and check every line? Thanks.
We use RoboHelp 10 and create WebHelp which we post on a webserver. The TOC Index, Search / navigation panes do not display any content. If we generate a version with the "Pure HTML" option instead of the "DHTML" option the navigation panes do show the content, but we would rather not take this route because other functions still don't work properly. It happens regardless of the contents of the helpfile. No relevant JavaScript errors show in the console. We found various tricks that claim to solve this issue but at least for RoboHelp 10 they don't work.
Opened existing project the master page isn't applied after generate & pulblish, eventhough it showes its applied to all topics.
We are moving to newer browsers and I looked over the supported browers but trying to find a concrete answer if I can continue using my Webhelp SSL once we move to newer browsers.Gene
Hello! Here's my problem: When a topic is open in the design editor, pressing the "View Item" button on the Edit ribbon doesn't do anything. No new window is launched, nothing!I'm completely new to RoboHelp software and my superior is stumped. Has anyone else experienced this problem or know a solution? Thanks!
In a project I just upgraded to RH 11, I have only 1 glossary entry. The v7 project had a large number of entries. Any thoughts on if the conversion could have "lost" entries or if it's some other issue? FWIW, the only entry in the new project happens to be what was the first entry in the old project. Thanks for any thoughts.Diane
I am running Robohelp 11 and every time I try to save and preview a response layout I am recieving a script error. Any ideas what may be causing this?Gene
Hello!Could anyone tell me what these pink lines mean? Thanks!
I am having trouble inserting an image. I open the Insert Image dialogue box while in a Topic, and my cursor is on the Image Name field. I then click on the Open File folder icon to browse my PC for the saved image. After I click on the Open File icon, my PC is stuck. I can't do anything except to go to Task Manager and end the application. Help!
I'm working with a client who still uses RH 7. They are interested in upgrading to the latest version of RH (is it 2015?) But before doing so they want to know if the WebHelp projects created with RH 7 can be opened and maintained in the newest version. Are there any known issues...in fact can it be done at all?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Diane
Has anyone tried this yet? What worked in RH 11 for the publish dialog box dos not work in RH2015. I get a message "Failed to create directory blah" although I know directory blah is there and doesn't need to be createdThe user guide seems to skip over publishing in anything but WebHelp and FlashHelp unless I am reading it wrong
I'm using Robohelp 10 and when I try to load my project file, I get the following message:"Open project was cancelled or the application was unable to load database for ....it then gives the path to my help folder and the .cpd file"I deleted the.cpd file and the system regenerated another one, but I keep getting the same message.Any thoughts.
I will provide a lot of information in hopes someone has a solution (other than rebuild the project). The problem: When I generate a Printed Documentation SSL the topic header (from the master page) is missing.I am part of a team that maintains over 120 RH9 and RH11 projects, we are in the middle of converting RH9 to RH11. All of the projects have been working fine post conversion until now.One project, the RH11 version, won't generate the topic header or footer to the Word doc. I have not seen this behavior before so did a lot of reading on Peter's site as well as others about generating printed documentation. Unfortunately, I could not find an answer. My RH environment:We use a mater page that has a header with the Topic title field in it and a footer with a date field and Copyright statement. That master page is applied to the topics. We have a Style Sheet applied to the Master page and thus applied to each topic using the master page. What I have tried so far:I have built a clean topi
Is anyone else having issues opening a project in Robosource 3.1 from Robohelp on a Windows 8.1 machine?Message was edited by: Rick Stone - clarified thread title
I recently took over a large RH project and discovered that 600 of the 800 topic files in the source folder are actually webhelp files. I checked backups going back over a year, and found that the webhelp is in the backups as well. And yes, the topics do display red boxes at the top and bottom in Robohelp HTML. I've seen the RoboWizard instructions for cleaning up this situation, but those instructions were written in 2004. I’m wondering if there’s a newer or easier way to clean the scripts and other extraneous coding from the topic files. By the way, I'm using RH 11.Thanks.
Hi,Have a project just converted to RH 11 from 7 and when I generate WebHelp, the Search button and input field are not displaying. The skin used (Default.skin) has both options selected. What must I do to get them to display in my WebHelp? Thanks for any help.Diane
I have a release notes that must be delivered in a pdf format. But, the entire help guide for the product is given as a chm file. So, there arises a problem where you want to have a link of a chm file topic in the pdf. It is possible to have the links in .doc or docx formats, but I want to know if this can be achieved in pdf.
After years of using RoboHelp 8, I find that all of a sudden I cannot do the following in existing projects:If I select New>Topic then instead of a new, blank topic page being generated, the 'bell' sounds and nothing happens. If I right click on a topic in the Project Manager and select 'Properties', again the 'bell' sounds and the Properties dialogue does not show.In both cases, hitting the Escape key 'gets me out' of these conditions. As an aside, when I start Robohelp I get a message from UAC saying that the Internet Explorer Add-On Installer is trying to run. Given that I have NOT requested automatic updates I decline. This has been going on for a few weeks, and other than the annoyance of getting this, Robohelp continues to work after cancelling the update.Oddly, today there was a similar message about installing a Flash Plug-in (I think - I've only seen the message once). Again I declined as in both cases I'm worried that installing either of these will mess up Robohelp as Roboh
My state of information:a) RCHL cannot process .jsx scripts from the commandline.b) RoboHTML cannot export like RCHL from .jsx scriptsBut I need to process a .jsx script before I can export to CHM or whatever else format. Why I cannot e.g. export via an .jsx from RoboHTML like RCHL is doing?
I've searched the forums but didn't find anything on this. I'm running RoboHelp 11. I was looking into using a Responsive HTML5 layout instead of my current WebHelp layout. I like how the desktop version looks when I choose Theme3_Black and edit:However, when I compile and preview, I see only the tablet version:Any idea why the desktop version isn't displaying? It does it within RoboHelp and when I choose to preview in a browser.
Running RoboHelp 10.0.1.292. Creating a Desktop layout.Using the Screen Layout Editor, I set the "Overflow" attribute to "Scroll" for the Topic content and the Tabbed content. When I generate and review in either Chrome or IE10, the horizontal bar is working. The vertical bar, which is visible, does not have a "scroll thumb" in the track. Thanks - Dan
When generating the WebHelp file folder contents isn't structured. I made the topics in structure inside a folder. But i cant do that for images, styles, whdata, whgdata and whxdata folder. How can i put inside a folder in a structured manner. If i changes these manually then nothing works. Please help me on this. When i looked into project manager i can see images, stylesheets etc. But i cant move these things to a folder and no contents appear inside these.Basically i need a structure like thisContent -- topic 1 -- topic 2Data -- whdata -- whxdata -- whgdata -- css -- imagesThanks for helping
Hi,I'm using Zoom search with my documentation and when viewing the docs using Firefox, Firefox hangs (forever) until I stop it when I click on a search result. I do not have this problem in IE or Chrome. All search result links work and display correctly on IE or Chrome.I ran the debugger thing on Firefox and saw this error message in whproxy.js file:Error: Permission denied to access property "whname" line 10 column 8 which is if (typeof (wCurrent.parent.whname) == "string" && "wh_stub" == wCurrent.parent.whname)This is repeatable. In fact, I have a link on my search page (created outside RH, but added after documentation is generated) to a "search tips" which links to a file within the project and that does the same thing - same hang and same error. I can access this "search tips" file while viewing in IE and Chrome.I followed Peter's tips on Zoom Search and use the process where I run zoom on output files as my start directory and put the results in
