Is it possible to view SWF videos created using Camtasia in Robohelp 10?I imported the video files into my Baggage folder but the video is still not viewable, even after publishing the project. I assume this has something to do with the additional files Camtasia generates?I've seen earlier posts indicating that Camtasia created flash videos didn't work in previous versions of Robohelp. I'm hoping this isn't the case anymore. If anyone knows of a way to make it work, I'd appreciate the help.
Hi all. I'd be grateful for experts' comments on these questions:Is there a way an end-user (a reader of the WebHelp) can specify keywords in the search query (something perhaps like "kwd:installation"), such that only topics with the keyword "installation" are returned? Is there a way to search across all topics that have NO keyword (eg, "kwd:"")?Is there a way to configure RH such that when an author creates a new topic, a default keyword, or set of keywords, is added automatically to the search Keyword field for the topic? Thanks in advance-Kurt
I imported word doc into my robohelp project and there is a lot of span tag junk i want to get rid of. Is there an expression i can build in the "find and replace" tool that will find any span tag and its contents? In the following example I want to delete the whole string including the brackets: <span style="letter-spacing: .05pt;">I'm thinking possibly a wildcard like: <span ***>I don't see a wildcard option in robohelp help related to building find expressions.
I want to change the style of Table of Contents Page Title for Printed Documentation. I would like it to be left justified.I have added the style to the CSS using the CSS Editor - no luck. First, the Table of Contents Page Title style does not even appear in the CSS Editor. So, I added a style called "TOC" and then changed the existing "Table of Contents Page Title" style to "TOC" in the Style Mapping.dot file. Tried to re-generate the printed doc and it still inserts the original "Table of Contents Page Title" style and does not apply the "TOC" style to the page title.I simply want the table of contents title to be left-justified, but I cannot seem to get it to recognize this style change. Any suggestions? Ready to tear my hair out! We have about 50 guides to generate and I would rather not have to manually fix in each Word doc.
I'm receiving an error when attempting to upgrade a RoboHelp 10 project with seven content folders to RoboHelp 11. The error includes the first folder name but all the files in that folder appear in the RH 11 project (as do the files from the 7th content folder). I was contracted to train someone to maintain this and other help projects, and to get this project back in shape, but I'm stumped by the upgrade failure. RH Support suggested that I create a new project and copy files from the RH10 version. I'd rather not deal with all the broken links that would result. Does anyone have a better solution? Some background: This project was originally created with RH7 for Word and I understand it was upgraded from RH7 to RH10 with painful results. I'm pretty sure the developer did not upgrade from RH7 one version at a time. The last person assigned to maintain the project had no RH experience (the old "admin could do this" attitude, I suspect). Thanks for any help you can off
I have added a Conditional build tag to a snippet text in a certain topic. However, when I edited the snippet the Conditional build tag was removed from that topic. Luckily I noticed it was missing, but know I wonder: is there anything I can do to prevent that from happening again? Thanks in advance.
Tried using drag/drop between 2 open projects so I can split a large project into two.Either it doesn't work or I'm not doing something right (hopefully the latter!)Thanks Bill
I upgraded Robohelp9 WebHelp projects to Robohelp10 successfully but the Search % bar is not working when a search is requested. Can anyone offer a reason why or a fix for that? Thanks for looking,Mike
RoboHelp HTML 11.Note: I'm posting here because I'm not sure which forum to post to, considering that this post covers RH11, WebHelp, WebHelp Pro, and RH Server. Sorry if there's a better place to post this issuue. For the first two releases of our Touchstone application, we generated WebHelp Pro. It is integrated with our Touchstone application.I inherited the WebHelp Pro approach, which we continued to use even though we were not using RoboHelp Server. Our intention was to move to RoboHelp Server one day.The day came when we started to explore use of RoboHelp Server. However, after discussing deployment to an RH Server with an IT person, we were were told that we did not need to use RH Server and that it would be preferable for us to use a homegrown solution that is being used elsewhere in the company. He has now prototyped deployment of the current WebHelp Pro Help to a company-hosted web server with a Google Analytics script embedded on each page for reporting purposes. The current W
Hello,We are using Adobe RoboHelp 11. After compiling the HTML files to *.chm format, topics are listed twice (tab search). If one of the both topis contains German umlauts, they are interpreted false. See attached image:Is there a possibility to clean or build new the search index?Thank you!J. KammererSoftweaver GmbH
I am using RH 10 file in RH 11 by upgrading it. But search functionality is not working for pages created in RH 11, search functionality is fine with pages created in RH 10. I am trying to insert a captivate 7 HTML 5 output in Robohelp 10. I tried the steps specified by adding an adobe captivate demo. I linked it to both the swf file and the index.html file. However I am getting an error, that the index.htm file is not valid. Can you please let me know the solution to this.
I have RH 11. .chm extensions obviously were rendered useless remotely. Cannot undo the security thigns via the registry hacks that have bounded around the last 8+ years.Has Adobe ever addressed this and fixed the vulnerability?Do any of the other extensions get around this problem? I heard that web help was a bear.
I am using RH 9 and JPEG images. When I open a WebHelp file to make edits, it will not allow me to insert images. When I select the image and try to insert it, I get the following message:Then whether I hit Yes or No, the following message appears:I have not changed the naming convention of any of my images, and they are all JPEGS. Any help appreciated.
I have removed all topics from a folder in RoboHelp 9. I want to now delete the folder but there is a .gif that is under the folder. I right clicked on the image but Delete is not available. How do I delete the .gif so I can then delete the folder?Thank you,Michele
I am using the Responsive HTML5 layout in Robohelp 11. When using the Index search, the index re-loads after a user selects an index term. This deletes the search term just entered and refreshes the index back to it's default (starting at 'A'). My users have complained about this change from RH 9 Webhelp, because if they accidentally click the wrong term, they have to re-enter their search term. In RH 9 Webhelp, the search term just entered would stay in the index search field after a term was clicked, so that a user could easily click an adjacent term if they mis-clicked.Is there a way to stop the index from re-loading/refreshing after an index term is clicked in Responsive HTML5?
I have created project as output .chm file & then that chm file using alchemy catalyst converting to other language & from that files when i am replacing back with existing project files while building .chm file getting some images missing any solution?..
We are using RoboHelp 9 to generate our online document library in webhelp format, and are trying to get this searchable from 3rd party search engines (Google CSE or Swiftype) . However, we found that the webcrawlers can't get any pages back from our site, and this seems to be related to the frames used in the webhelp html. I've seen comments from people who think that non-frame based HTML 5 would solve our problems and have been evaluating both Flare 10 and RoboHelp 11, and generating output in Responsive HTML5, to see if this works. So far we've had no luck with this. We've even tried generating a sitemap.xml, which in theory solves all our problems but web-crawlers don't pick up anything from this either. Anybody been down this route and got any ideas ?
Hello:Is it possible to delete folders that contain topics? I have been trying to do this with Project Manager but the delete option is dimmed.I can delete folders that do not contain topics. The project is on a network. The Clear Project Cache (cpd) option is selected. I also cannot delete folders with topics from a sample project. Thanks for any advice.Juliette
I have the help files but not the project... and I am just wondering if I can somehow import those help files into RoboHelp?
In RoboHelp 11, I have multi-level lists and normal lists. The multi-level list will continue numbering after a break in the list, like so:1. step one2. step twobreak3. step threeIf I want step three to start a new list, I go to the HTML and manually add a start="1" attribute. The normal list will start over at 1 after each break, and if I want it to continue I need to add a start attribute for wherever I left off. What I want is what I use in FrameMaker: a list style for Number1 that I can add when I want to restart lists, and a Number/Number_next for continuing where I left off, without having to manually alter the HTML. I feel like I'm missing something because I can't find an option to create a list like this in the CSS editor, and I can't figure out what to add manually to the CSS file in a text editor that makes RoboHelp recognize what I want it to do. But obviously the option exists because the multi-level list and the normal list exhibit both behaviors that I want.
I use Robohelp 10. I have created a large Merged Webhelp project and I have set out the project master with nothing in it other than merged projects place markers. This is the layout of the generated projects etc.Generate Master.htm Redirect.htm (Home page is a redirect to Project 1 Home Page - not in TOC)mergedProjects Project1 Home Page.htm Project2 Redirect.htm (Home page is a redirect to Project 1 Home Page - not in TOC) Project3 etc.
Hi,I’m using RH11 to make Responsive HTML5 output in 4 different help projects, with the Theme2-_Government layout (in Dutch and French). All projects start correctly with the TOC pane open and the whole indexfile displayed. Even my first indexsearch is OK.However, no respons with the second index search, because the program keeps loading, and loading… the index-entrys.All 4 projects have the same problem. What's going on? Thanks for your help!Paul
Hey all,I'm experiencing an issue in Chrome where ToC books don't expand when clicked. I did a little research on the topic and found that similar issues have cropped-up before (see link below). The solutions discussed in that thread did not solve the problem.Re: WebHelp in RoboHelp 10 - Books are not opening in the published filesI'm using RoboHelp 10 and the latest version of Google Chrome (Version 37.0.2062.120 m). Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
