Experts:Below in blue is a crude reprint of a piece of procedure in a RH 11 topic. The numbering is done via multilevel list. What I'd like to do is make a link to step 10i at the end of step 10 c, such that it will appear as "c. Skip to step i". But I can't find how this is done.Note that I have a bookmark at the start of step i. However, when I link to the bookmark in step c, it looks like this:c. Skip to step XREF_13924_g_When_Oracle_11g.I found I can trim the link text so that just the step number "g" is shown. But note that the step number is "g", not "i". This appears to be because the bookmark was created when the step was "g".In short, I want the link text to change dynamically if the step of the link target is renumbered, like the way it works in FrameMaker. How can this be done in RH? Is there a DHTML trick of some kind? Thanks in advance!-Kurt9. Review and optionally change the settings you’ve just entered.10. Hi there,I'm new to this forum so I apologize in advance if this is a repeat question, but I couldn't seem to find any threads that address my exact issue.Issue:When generating Microsoft HTML help, all image files are not showing up. If generated in other outputs, though, they show up fine. They even show up in previews. Any idea why this could be?There are no illegal characters in any of the file names or file paths. Folders or files were never moved, only copied. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or require any more information to help solve this issue. Thanks,Kyle
When I right click over the Baggage File folder, the program locks up.
Hi,I produce webhelp and the customers have requested that printed documentation is also generated from my help project so that they can have an electronic/paper version.I have several hyperlinks in the help project, to PDF/Word files, and have found that in the printed documentation, when you click on the hyperlink, it is trying to find the document in the physical location from which the help project was created. This means that the hyperlinked documents only open on my PC because I own the physical location. Other users, particuarly our customers, end up with an error message because it is trying to find a location they do not have access to.Does anybody know a solution to this please?
I am noticing the roboserver9 application is serving on port 80 folders on a windows server. Is there a way to do a configure change with Roboserver9 to port to 443 for https?
RH11, Create a Review PDFWhen - and however - I create a review PDF, the TOC subtopic links (for example, the head 2s) don't reliably go to the subheads. They often just go to the topic title. (The subtopic links work fine in the Help file.)That is the main problem, but maybe you know a workaround to achieve what I actually want to do, to create a toc of bookmarks that link to specific content to identify bug fixes. Nothing I've tried lets you click a subtopic and go to the heading, paragraph, table, or anything except the topic title. The bug fix specifics are the desired review content, not the whole topic. I could highlight the bug fix and have the reviewer scroll down, but that kind of defeats the purpose. So for example, this is the desired toc:Book A:bug fix 1 (table)bug fix 2 (bullet)Book B:bug fix 3 (paragraph)bug fix 4 (subtopic) I've tried switching webhelp/chm outputs to see if review pdfs differ between them. (no). In the Create PDF for review dialog box, have tried al
Just ran across a scenario today that is slightly puzzling - the situation is a local install of WebHelp created through RH10. The workstation has no IE installed, but has Chrome. They can launch the start page of the WebHelp output from within the application (because it's just a straight launch of the ProjectName.htm page), but when launching a CSH call, nothing is happening. My developers are using the RoboHelp_CSH.js Javascript method of CSH (works fine in an IE environment), so I think it's got something to do with the whcsh_home.htm file not figuring out what to do with Chrome.A variation of this was having both IE and Chrome, with Chrome set to being the default browser. The straight launch correctly starts up the help in Chrome, but the CSH call launches IE - very strange! That result seems to reinforce my suspicion that the whcsh_home.htm page isn't aware of Chrome. Any ideas for tinkering under the hood appreciated
I have Robohelp 10 installed and my WebHelp output files do not open in Chrome 33.0. I have downloaded the whproxy.js file and replaced it in my output folder. This solves my problem. But this is a temporary solution and each time I have to replace the whproxy.js file. Can Adobe provide a permanent solution to this problem as I have to generate a lot of output files.
Using RH10. set background in css to white to accomodate images with white backgrounds. pagetitle font is white and so disappears. trying to change font colour, but css won't apply or save different font colour....am i missing something?
Hi,I had replied to pgcalc's post with this but since it is a different error I am getting, decided to start a new thread.I have:-new Windows 7 machine-Word 2010-RoboHelp for Word 10But when I try to open an .hpj - obviously, these were created in older versions of RoboHelp - I have no idea which version, originally, but the last work on the project was done in RoboHelp 7 or 8 - I get the message "RoboHelp has stopped working." Here's what I have done so far:I noticed that the RoboHelp templates were not installed in the default Word templates folder like they usually are. So I copied all the templates from C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 10\RoboHELP\WordTemp\en_US\Word11 to C:\Users\[yours truly]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates. Still no luck.Any advice?Thank you,SandyMessage was edited by: sdryer
Are there downloadable screen layouts for HTML 5 desktop?
Hi,I used to work with RH version 7 and have just recently upgraded to RH11. I opened up a project created using RH7 in RH11 and regenerated both .chm and webhelp outputs. The .chm output is fine, however the webhelp output does not seem to apply all the css defined formatting. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what could be causing this and how I can resolve it.These are the steps I performed:1. Open an RH project file created in RH7 in a RH11 environment.2. I was prompted to upgrade the project in order to open it in RH11 so I upgraded.3. Generate a .chm output.4. Generate a wbehelp output5. I also tried setting css to apply to all topics (Webhelp Settings) then generate again a webhelp file. When I reviewed the outputs that's when I saw the problem with my webhelp output. In my previous version of RH when I generate the webhelp output i dont get this problem.I am using Windows Server 2012 and RH HTML 11. I tested the outputs in IE8 and 10, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firef
I am trying to create a custom title page with a background picture covering the entire page. Since the image should only show on the title page, I used “Format > Topic Borders and Shading” to add it. The image should cover the entire title page in MS Word and therefore has the same size.(If this is important: I am not using a master page for the title page and the header/footer settings are set to “none” when generating the print output.)When I generate the printed documentation, the background image does not show. When I preview the title page in the Section Layout right before generating the printed documentation, the title page still looks perfect. What am I doing wrong? I’d appreciate any advice. Mr. Fox
When I compiled my help project, using the WebHelp option, RoboHelp 10 generated code with unknow property name, which results in garbled text on one of the pages. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem, or why it happened? Thanks!
Hi all -This is how it started:The sysadmins (unexpectedly) had to reimage my computer a few weeks ago. We were able tor reinstall everything thanks to Carbonite, but since then there have been some issues with RoboHelp. The first time I generated the project after the new install, the ToC was missing and opening the Help in our software caused the program to crash. This morning, I figured out it was the Default Window setting in the HTML Help Options window (Under Single Source Layouts > Microsoft HTML Help, right click & select Properties). For some reason, RH is setting the NewWindow type as the default window type for HTMLHelp output. This is incorrect - if you see in the screenshot below, this window type is for the WebHelp Pro output. RH should have the default type associated to 'main.' HTML is on the left, WebHelp is on the right. I guess what I'm looking for is this: how do I make the 'main' window type the default for HTML Output, aside from changing it in the HTM
I have applied fixes from Adobe for Blank Topic Panes in IE10 and a blank TOC in IE11. The instructions indicate the fixes should be made in folder RoboHTML which I have done with no solution to the problems. I am wondering if I should apply the Adobe fixes to folder RoboHELP since I am using RoboHelp 10 for Word in a Windows 7 environment. The reason for the question is that the data structure appears to be the same under both folders and the RoboHELP folder does not seem to be present in a RoboHelp 8 installation of HTML without Word.
Hi I am using FM11, RH10 as part of TCS 4.0.I am creating a settings file that will be used by team to generate WebHelp outputs. In this, I want to change the default Times New Roman font of breadcrumbs to Arial. While I am aware how to set that during publishing, I don't want to take that approach because I don't want my team to fiddle around too many things during the publishing process. In the RHStyleMapping.css file I used to create the ISF, I saw the breadcrumbs option and changed it to Arial. However, that did not help.Is it possible to achieve what I am trying to achieve? If yes, please advise me how.Thanks.Sreekanth
I'm printing my help document from Robohelp 11 to Word and I'm getting what looks like merge fields in the text, usually in the headings.I think they may be index keywords. How can I get these fields out of my document? They do not delete if I select and press the Ctrl F9 keys.Thanks.
I have been wrestling with generating a word file (or PDF file) from my project. I ended up configuring the Printed Documentation SSL to generate individual documents and create a master document. Finally, my RoboHelp stopped app crashing while I ran it, but now I have this whole laundry list of issues that prevented the process from successfully completing. The first on the list is "Failed to build 'Title Page'...". There are also a bunch of "Failed to save the Word Document after appending a malformed topics:"Can anyone help me understand how to correct either or both of these issues? Thanks -Kerry
Hi. I have RH11 and I'm working with topics that I imported from FM12. I just discovered a lot of phantom classes that start "FM_SC", followed by several numbers, sprinkled throughout the text, as shown just below in the quote. Any idea what these are all about? It seems like they can be safely deleted, but I'm not sure. If safe to delete, are there any tools that can delete them en-mass?The main downside to these classes is that when I click on text that follows one of these items, the highlighted style in the Style tab becomes unselected. Thanks in advance.<p class="FM_Body">The Electronic Program Guide (EPG) provides subscribers with frequently updated scheduling information for each channel the subscriber receives. Hi,My organization is using RH9 for a Webhelp project. My company and our client are restricted to using IE9 for the online help I have created for this project, and our OS environment is Windows 7. When I generate using the Webhelp layout, with the TOC, Index and Search options chosen, my resulting browser window shows two frames. Left for the Contents/Index/Search and right for the content. In the left panel, there are three links at the top for Contents, Index and Search. When I click on the Search link, the only thing I see is the alphabet A-Z (which are links to filter items beginning with these letters (much like the index link) and a list of what I would say is garbage. For example, if I click on H, I see items like "half 1 2 3" or "held" or "honor # 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8", etc. If I run my cursor down this list, I notice that maybe the word honor is a link. If clicked it brings up one of my topic pages. I can also click on the ran
Using:RH Html 11Windows 7I have a 2 part question on the Link Convertor Script:1) I can't get the link converter to run within my project. I can edit/save the script however it won't run. I checked this against a version of RH9 I had installed on the same project and was able to run and replace no problem on RH9, RH11 i'm having issues. Anyone else experience this?2) How do I change the redirect link back to an existing help page within my manual? I have a few thousand links directing to our website that we want to repoint into the imported content page. Can I simply insert the file name in the redirect link? i.e.VAR newlink = 'page.htm'Or do I need to include the path as well? Thank you for the help
I had RoboHelp 10 on my Windows Vista machine, a volume licensed copy that I downloaded and installed locally, and it was running perfectly. Then, per company policy, I had to upgrade to Windows 7. Did my backups, upgraded and now, when I try to install the previous version of RoboHelp 10, it asks me for a license number, which it didn't the last time I installed. So I went back to our repository and downloaded the install of RoboHelp 10 that is there, ran it to install it, it goes all the way through the command window, tells me the install is finished and to press a key to remove the temp files, I press, the window disappears and there is no RoboHelp 10 in the Start menu. I tried rebooting to see if it would appear: it is not there. Ended up trying this twice with the same result.I'm desperate as I have something to turn in shortly so I installed the trial version for 30 days to buy myself some time until I can fix this. Any ideas? Thanks.Helen
Hi all,I need to create an online help system that will run in an old version of Netscape, on an HP-UX machine. I tried generating Webhelp, but it will not load. Is there a Robohelp SSL I can use that is just plain HTML (no Java)? I would prefer to have an online help that has a Contents (navigation) pane on the left and the content in the right, if possible.I can use Technical Communication Suite 3, 4, or 5.Thanks.
We recently installed Robohelp Server and while the admin client recognizes our published project, the searched term reports return 'no data found'. Is there additional configuration that needs to take place? Thanks!
