I find that text/pictures are incompete in output format. If I need the complete text or picture to be visible in the output for all for all inputs that I insert within the frame, where in RoboHelp 11 should I change these settings? Message was edited by: sriraml
When I try to upgrade an older RH project to RH 9 (regular version) or RH11 (trial version), I get the "Error in reading RHFrameStyleMappings.apj file" error and the other error that follows it. I tried the solution posted on the forum, which was to create a new blank project and then copy the newly created RHFrameStyleMappings.apj file into the old project. This doesn't work for me. When I create a new blank project, I don't get an RHFrameStyleMappings.apj file. To the best of my knowledge, the project I'm trying to upgrade was created with RH8, but it's possible that it's even older because it's been quite a while since I've had to update it. Does anyone have a solution other than the one that's posted? I would really like to avoid having to re-create the entire project.
Offering this info for anyone else who might run into a similar situation. When reviewing the browse sequence for an RH 10 project, I noticed one topic (page) displaying where a TOC book should have been. The topic being displayed was the topic associated with the book, but the book's subtopics were not being displayed. The topic being displayed for the book included a link to a subtopic listed for the book in the RH project, but the link was dead. The link for the topic worked fine when using the CTRL+W to view the topic from RH. To resolve the issue, I tried deleting and re-adding the book. Recompiled. No change. I repositioned the book (it happened to begin with the same few words as the two previously listed books, and I wanted to eliminate the possibilty of an issue based on beginning multiple books with the same text). No change. Deleted .cpd file (it was over 5MB), opened the project to recreate .cpd file, and then reco
Hi All,I want to generate CHM help file from the DOC file. So, what I have already done:Remove all useless images and text in DOC (document covers, headings and footers, etc.)Verify that headings are applied correctly to the DOC topics (H1, H2, H3...).Create new project in RoboHelp 9 and import this DOC file. Results: Entire DOC file is imported to a single RoboHelp topic.... It was not divided into separate topics, regarding headings set in DOC.The only thing I can do now is to create topics manually, and copy-paste the text into these topics.. As far as I remember some previous RoboHelp version allowed to set option like this: create separate topics in accordance with heading applied in Word or import the DOC into single topic..Please, help me Thanks,Olga
I have a RoboHelp project that is linked to a FrameMaker book. I have been having problems with the linking - I make changes to the FM files and update the RoboHelp project but the changes don't always take effect - so I shut down both programs. I opened both programs along with the FM book and the RH project to find that my RH project files are totally in a different order than they were and then the FM files. I have closed and reopened RH but the files are still out of order. What would cause this to happen and how do I fix it? Do I have to delete the linked book and re-add it to fix the ordering of the files? Please help - very frustrated with this tool...
Hi. I have an issue whereby when I import an unstructured FM (v12) document into RH (v11) project, autonumbered lists in the FM files don't have correct numbering after the import. I have been able to get by using the old RoboHelp 5 to author/maintain my company's help system. I'm afraid RoboHelp 5 won't install on my new Windows 7 machine. I'm seeking advice re: which version of RoboHelp, installable on Windows 7, will allow me to somewhat seamlessly continue maintaining this help system. Is there a painful conversion process?
I was just issued a new desktop PC (Windows 7 SP1, 64 bit) at work. I have had to reload all of my software including AdobeTCS 3.5. After installing TCS 3.5, Adobe RoboSource Control 3.1 is a separate folder under the main Adobe folder (Program FIles (x86) > Adobe > Adobe RoboSource Control 3.1). So it should be "installed."I have also downloaded the RoboSource 64 bit fix and copied it into the Adobe RoboSource Control 3.1 folder (renaming the original version of the file). Note that RoboSource Control Server is installed on a separate server machine. When I click RSO3Explore.exe to start the app, I first get a message that the Publisher cannot be verified (I select Run), and then I get the message that "RSO3 Explorer Component has stopped Working" and then "RSO3 Middle Tier Server Component has stopped Working". I am forced to close the program. In Task Manager > Processes, I have 2 instances of "RSO3MiddleTierService.exe *32" running. In Task Manag
Hi team,I've Windows 7 on my PC and RoboHelp 10. I've a licensed version of RoboHelp 10 on my PC. However, I have some issues with my PC and am formatting my C and re-install a fresh copy of Windows 7.Is there a necessity for me to deactivate the existing license in RoboHelp 10 and activate it again upon installing RoboHelp 10 on Windows 7?Also, will there be any issues if I do not deactivate RoboHelp 10 >> Format my C drive >> Install RoboHelp 10.Santosh.
Hi all, has anybody perchance written a script that inserts all topics into a single browse sequence? This would be similar to the 'auto-create from TOC'-function but using a single long sequence instead of separate ones for each chapter. Most of our users think that the concept of browse sequences is confusing in Webhelp. They just want simple 'forward' and 'backward' buttons that jump through the TOC.Robert
Hi all and hope everyone is well,I have a large user guide and help project with FrameMaker as the single source. The project is translated into 8 languages, To ensure consistent file names across all 8 languages in RH, I set the RH Topic Name setting to use my Filename marker in FrameMaker to name the HTM files. (Project Settings>Edit conversion settings for FrameMaker documents>Other Settings>Topic Name Settings>Topic Name Marker>FilenameThe problem is that this file name is also being used in the <title> tag within the HTML RH creates. The result is that when I run a search, the file name appears rather than the actual topic title. Oddly enough, I have a handful of topic that are using the topic title in the <title> tag rather than the Filename. I cannot figure out why, but because it does happen, I know that it can be done. See in my screen below, most of the topics use the same Title as the filename. However, two of the files use the topic ti
I have a Help project created in RoboHelp for Word 8. I recently upgraded from Word 2007 to Word 2010 and discovered that RH8 for Word won't work with Word 2010. So I purchased RoboHelp 10 and have installed RoboHelp for Word from it. Alas, RH for Word STILL won't work with Word 2010. When I try to open my project, I get this message:Before I bought RH10, I live-chatted with an Adobe sales person who assured me it was compatible with Word 2010.BTW, I tried to roll back to Word 2007, but I was getting weird behavior running Word, so I have reinstalled Word 2010 and want to stay there.Any ideas?
In HTML view (RoboHelp 9) extra spaces are appearing between words in the code. This does not affect the regular text, only the code. Any suggestions to get rid of the extra spaces?
This started after I deleted my output files to fix a search error (the ol' failed to initialize database error). I created my outputs again, and now I can't get the hyperlinks in the master page to appear in the published version. This appears in the working version on my hard drive, and the uploaded version (where I discovered the issue) on SharePoint. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
In RoboHelp 10 I created a second Index that I want to use called "Index - Windows".The original Index named "AppHelp (Default) - Index" includes hundreds of topics that are absolute garbage as a result of creating it with the Index Wizard! But I cannot delete this because the Delete choice is grayed out. What do I do to get rid of this (or empty it of all content without deleting one thing at a time?)Also, why is the Index list not in alphabetical order? How can I force the topics into alphabetical order?
Is it possible to create more of a flowchart look/design in RoboHelp including 1-2 levels of information, rather than a help system?
Hello all,Sorry for double-posting, I think I posted in the wrong forum so am reposting here:I have generated a merged webhelp project as per the instructions at:http://www.wvanweelden.eu/blog/2013/02/28/adobe-robohelp-creating-merg ed-webhelpThe output help file is quite large. I can run it without issues on my PC. However, when I copy it to a server, it does load, the TOC pane appears empty until I click around a few times in the help. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!
I want to upgrade my RH 9 to RH 11 but before doing that want to know if the move involves any changes in the project file or for the developers in terms of coding, help linking or map IDs.
I have done searches for this user guide and cannot find it. The dialog indicates there is a hyperlink to download but there is none. Can someone please send me a link to it? I,
We imported a RH8 project into RH9 on another computer. For the most part, it went smoothly; however, for some images and hyperlinks, we get the message: The image file "___.jpg" used in "______.htm" is outside of the current project and will not be shown in Project Manager.Additionally, there are approximately 20 broken links displayed in the Broken Links tab.Your suggestions would be appreciated as we have multple huge projects we need to upgrade. Thanks
Robo Source Control 3.1 : History and change reports are allways empty. I only see titles on the file report.htm (using IE9 or Google Chrome).
Hi all,I have benn previously using the Open Toolkit to generate Javahelp from DITA content. This worked fine but process changes force me to try out Robohelp. The main problem is that Robohelp creates awfully structured HTML output and relies on CSS to streighten the formatting. Particularly with lists this does not work in Javahelp. For example, if you have a list in 2nd order (within another lists) then Robohelp creates two flat lists and simply increases the margins of what is intended to be the list bullets in 2nd order. It seems that any margin-left attributes do not work in Javahelp. Does anybody have experiences with getting the Robohelp output to work in the Javahelp viewer?Robert
I am just wondering because I've been told it's a Word 7 issue and I have not seen anything in the forum on this. I know there are not a lot of us still using RH for Word, but there are enough of us that someone else must have come accross this issue.
Please let me know the pricing models of RoboHelp. I am interested in buying a couple of licenses, and hence need to know the available models and the cost details. Thanks
