Hi. I'm curious if anyone has any experience or tips to share about a RoboHelp environment that uses BOTH source control and cloud sharing. My company uses perforce. I'm purchasing a couple copies of TCS5, one for me in California, one for writer colleague in Europe. I'd like to use Perforce for version control/backup, but use Dropbox for RH asset sharing and sync. Is this workabout? I'm guessing that the Dropbox/sync mechnism won't work if one or both of us has not checked out a file that needs to be (automatically via sync) updated. ("Not checked out" = file is in read only state.)If RH automatically checks files in/out of perforce in order to complete a cloudshare sync, that would be most cool! Thanks in advance for your ideas!-Kurt
Hi. Does anyone know what the items in the square box below are for, and how to enable them? They're grayed out on my RH11 system. Thx.
I have generated webhelp using RH10. The webhelp works fine with both Firefox and Chrome but when I display the webhelp from my local machine using IE11 the TOC is missing. Here is a screenshot.I also notice that the index is missing as well.
Requirements for Robohelp 11 call for:· Microsoft® Word 2013 or 2010· Adobe Acrobat XI or X· Adobe Captivate 7· Microsoft® SharePoint Server® 2010 or 2007· Adobe FrameMaker 7 or later versionsWill it function with out these components present? Thanks,Joe
We are performing a proof of concept with RoboHelp 9, and I'm trying to get it up and running to the point where we can upload content to the server. I've been following the instructions from: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/RoboHelp/9.0/RoboEngine/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11c0aaa9fd7-7ff8.htmlThis is what I have done so far:1. Installed Tomcat7 and verified that Tomcat is installed and running. Set the Java options.2. Installed Robohelp 9, and pointed to the correct install of Java and Tomcat.3. Configured Robohelp, using the application, and created a project called 'Design' using the Access/default option for logging.4. Browsed to http://servername:8080/robohelp/admin and received a 404 Error:As I'm not very familar with web applications/servers, I'm wondering how I point the application to look at the correct folder. It doesn't seem like Tomcat is looking in the right location for the appplication.Do I need to setup IIS to make this work?
I've imported a captivate 6 demo into robohelp 10 and everything works perfectly, except that the closed captioning (CC) icon does not display on the Captivate playbar. It shows up just fine in Captivate, but not in Robohelp.I've tried externalizing the skin to import into Robohelp and I still get the same result. The CC icon doesn't show up in the playbar. I have to have closed captioning in my work environment for my Captivate videos. Can anyone help?
HiI am using FM11-RH10, as part of TCS4.I want to display our copyright and trademark information as a button on the top panel (next to Content, Search, Index, and Glossary). The content is coming from a FrameMaker (.fm) file. So, is there a way I can link a FM file to this button? Ideally, I would want to do it as part of the settings or skin file. If that is impossible, I am fine with having that as a post-import task in RH as well.Is that possible? Sreekanth
This issue is in Robohelp 10, with a project that uses merged projects with a WebHelp output. This project was just upgraded from Robohelp 7 to Robohelp 10; prior to the upgrade, there were no issues with display in the published help. The project is based in a network folder and the webhelp is published to a different network folder. No settings or file locations were changed during the upgrade. When I completed the upgrade, generated and published all merged projects and then generated and published the master project, then attempted to open the complete webhelp from the index .htm file from its network folder, the TOC does not display and the Index and Search functions don't work in Internet Explorer, but all of the above works fine in Firefox. The project is not checked into Source Control. Any insight as to what I can do to correct this is appreciated.
I have a project containing 5 languages. I created a separate html5 single source layout for each so that I can include translated table of contents and index. Is there a recommended technique for pointing into the resulting output given a matching locale? What about defaulting to English in the event that there is no matching locale?
I am using RH10 and the help system is stored on a sharepoint server (it was output as WebHelp)All users are able to access the system once we give them access, but when they go to search for topics, some get results and some don't. I believe it's related to java, but I can't find any documentation on what version of java is required for end users?I have already uninstalled and reinstalled RH (as read in some of the forums) with no changes for the end users. Are their other outputs that don't require java for searching?Anything else I can test?Other information that would be helpful to share? Thanks!Laura(Moved this from the wrong forum -- sorry 🙂 )
Hi, I'm working in RH10 Multiscreen HTML5 with an Android Tablet layout. I've successfully published it and am now trying to clean up little things that testers have commented on. On the Index page, my bottom entry in the index is the word "White", which should return two values when touched. However, those two values fall below the bottom edge of the screen, with no indication to scroll down to see them, so once you've touched there does not appear to be any result to your touch.I'm trying to figure out some way to show what the TOC has, with the > and >> and two down arrows (NodePage, NodeOpenBook and NodePage). Is there a way for me to define additional stuff either in the Index page under the Android Tablet Layout or somewhere else in the project? Perhaps my answer will have to be that I add another word to the index after White which will have only one place to go so there is no confusion like this. After touching White:What I want it to look like without scrolling down as
We are experiencing an issue that I hope someone can assist with. We had a project translated and as such, Spanish accent marks are included over some of the letters in the titles of our project. They are also included in the .htm output titles. All of our links to those that contain the accent marks are broken. We need to keep them in the files to keep them grammatically correct. We've also tried replacing them within the html code itself. For instance, rather than using o with the accent, we replaced it with &#243 (or whatever the exact coding for that one is). Still isn't working.Anyone else have this issue and/or know how to work around it?Thanks,Evin
I have updated a WebHelp project for a Windows app (let’s call it App1). Now the Dev team is creating a separately installed app (lets call it App2) that shares some of the same Help information as the original app. Both apps can be installed on the same system. The Help for App1 is accessed from an About menu in the app UI. Some of the topics are dialog boxes accessed from a question mark icon (?) at the bottom of the UI (I assume map IDs are involved in hooking up the dialog box Help - I need to verify this with Dev). The Help for App2 will be accessed from the App2 UI, which looks very similar to the App1 UI, except that certain features in App1 are missing from App2.Here are the parameters: In some cases, entire Help topics will apply to both apps.In some cases, a portion of a topic for App1 will also apply to App2.In some cases, a topic or topic portion for App 1 does not apply to App2 and vice versaI’m using Robohelp 9 (RH9). Is there a way to allow App1 to display only the
HiI am using FM11-RH10 as part of TCS4.I have images referenced in FrameMaker book. These images are clear and are of good quality (no blurry text or pixelated graphics). Now, when I import the FM book into RH, the image clarity is slightly affected (text in the image gets blurry), but still are of acceptable quality. However, when I publish it as Webhelp, the text is hardly readable.I browsed through these forurms and found that selecting/ deselecting the Adobe Distiller option in Settings file gives better output. I tried that but it did not help.Any other workarounds? Thanks in advance.Sreekanth

I wanted to ask whether it was possible to have a style (list) that would automatically map an already existing list in a Word document to an HTML (ol/ul/li) list upon conversion. In other words, if I have a numbered list in Word as follows:FruitsApplesPearsPeachesCould I now convert that to HTML within RoboHelp with a CSS that matches the corresponding Word style and receive an ol/li list?I know that I can easily apply a list style from RoboHelp; however, there are a number of Word documents to convert and many have a list style as follows:FruitsApplesPearsPeachesCitrus FruitsOrangesGrapefruitWith the marked difference being that Oranges and Grapefruits are numbered four and five respectively, instead of one and two. This means that I have to start the list numbering at another number at appropriate intervals. Any assistance on this is much appreciated. I am using RoboHelp 10 and outputting to Web Help.
When I delete a topic from the TOC panel in RoboHelp 6, it correctly disappears from the TOC and is not included in the TOC when I generate WebHelp output. So far, so good. However, if you click on the "Search" tab in the generated WebHelp output and happen to search for a term within the deleted topic, the deleted topic still opens. How do I prevent this? Thanks
Has anyone iframed a robohelp project? We have a client who needed to put their robohelp project/files behind a login, and share the main website's header and footer. So we ended up iframing (the already iframed) robohelp project. The print button in the robohelp toolbar isn't working, probably because we're iframing an iframed project. Has anyone had a good workaround for that?
Hello, I recently upgraded to TCS 4 from TCS 3. In one of my projects, I am unable to Generate output. In the SSL menu, I double click any of the layout options (I'm primarily interested WebHelp and Printed Documentation). The Properties window never displays and the output is not generated. I tried this several times right-click the layout and click Generate... and also right-click Properties. The properties window simply never displays. Nothing happens. I should note that the application does not lock up, the window simply never dispalys. Generate Layout and right-click Properties seems to work fine with another project.I tried doing a Batch generate, and selected WebHelp (my primary layout) and Printed Documentation, and the generation did work. However, I need the Properties windows to set or adjust settings.Creating a new Layout has the same issue -- the Properties windows never displays, so I cannot configure the Layout.Any suggestions for how I can repair my Layouts Properties s
Are the enhanced search facilities available in Flashhelp in RH11. Webhelp does not work properly within IE or Chrome and Flashhelp does does not seem to have the enhanced search facility - help please
I recently upgraded from RoboHelp 10 to 11. I would like to take advantage of the new layouts, but I receive an error message when trying to generate the layouts. RoboHelp actually closes as the layouts are generating. Anyone else experiencing this error?
Not all my child projects are displaying in Internet Explorer 10 when I generate my master project. Three quarters of them are displaying no problem. I can see no difference between the robohelp output for the child projects that display in the master out put, and those that don't. (e.g. both can be launched separated, and work no problem as stand alone help in IE 10). This problem doesn't occurr in Firefox. Any suggestions?
Hi. I'm interested in creating multiple TOCs for a project. Included will be TOCs that only have a subset of the project topics and books. Is there a way to restrict searching to only those topics and books that occur in the TOC?Thx.-kt
I am trying to generate a Word document (Word 2013) from RH9. It goes through the generation process and just before it would normally offer to view the result (the Word document) the following message appears:'A supported version of Microsoft Word does not exist. Please install Microsoft Word 2000 or newer'Any ideas greatly appreciated.
I've imported an MS Word 2013 document into RoboHelp 11 and generated an HTML5 and chm outputs. In both the search button doesn't work.
