I was wondering if you can add a property/code to the skin that would stop horizontal scrolling of the TOC/hide the horizontal scrollbar. I've tried a few things but none of them seem to work.
Since upgrading to RoboHelp 10, we are having problems with popups Auto-sizing when the .chm is called from our program. Auto-sizing pop-ups are displaying in a small window that always requires the user to do vertical and horizontal scrolling.A workaround could be to change all of the Auto-sizing pop-ups in a project to Custom-sized pop-ups specifying what the Width and Height should be.Problem is that there are a bezillion of these that require changing. Is there a way this can be accomplished 'globally'? Only Auto-sizing pop-ups should be changed to the Custom-sized pop-ups. 'Display in frame hyperlinks' would remain 'Display in frame'.Looking forward to advice from those with more experience. Thanks!
How can I create what's this functionality in robohelp 10 html project.
I was catching up on watching a televsion show and watching it with no issues/no problems with flash before. I went to the website below and all of a sudden flash is not working. I did not change any settings, run any updates. I checked various browsers, flash content is not working on any of them. I can view youtube videos however just about any other site I've tried, nothing and many websites will not display correctly. I tried some of the troubleshooting suggestions in the forum however some of them I'm unable to do such as alter the flash settings, it takes me to the page but tells me I don't have Flash installed. I've tried switching user accounts on my pc as others have said flash works for them on the other account however mine is still broken. I've actually tried a system restore, still no luck.Windows 8 (64 bit)Flash Version 11.9.900.152Tried web browsers IE, Firefox, Chrome - I've verified it is enabledActive X is disabledI've ran the 'test' to verify Flash is installed
Hello all,I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue I am having in flash. I made a shape using the pen tool and made it a mask. Then I inserted key frames and did a few shape tweening. It works fine for a while and then suddenly freaks out in a couple of frames then goes back to normal and I can't figure out why. I have the file if anyone wants to take a look, I can email or if there is any way to attach it here I can. Any help wouyld be appreciated. Thanks!
Hello all,Our company is looking into RoboHelp 10. However, I have tried multiple times to request a demo from Adobe's sales department and was always passed to support, who passed me back to sales and so on. The last person I was able to contact in support let me know they don't do demos of this product. The guy mentioned just trying out the trial version and setting it up to see if we like it and if we don't, no worries. Well, we don't have the time or the resources to just try it out to see if it's something we can use. We are seriously looking for an online help system. So with that said, would anyone be interested in sharing how you are using RoboHelp 10 for your clients and maybe talk some features and ease of use of this system. If so, I would be very grateful for any help so that we can decide if this is something we will want to use. Hopefully, you can send me a private message and I can send them back, so that we can connect.Thank you
We have made some changes for security reasons, and my regular host address no longer works. when I entered an IP address as the host for ftp publishing, my whole project crashed and I can't re-open it.. I don't have a recent backup, though I can patch something together. I'm hoping I can do something with individual files to solve the problem. The files that changed, according to the timestamp, were:The cpd file (I already renamed that so it would rebuild - didn't help)The .ldb file$rhvariable$.htmThe pss fileIs there anything I can do with any of these files to solve the problem? Thanks for any help...Marion
Hi all -I'm using RH HTML 9 to maintain our help file, and I've come into a fairly big (okay, devastating) issue with our map files. The issue is that they are just... gone. All my topics were correctly linked yesterday, but when I opened up RH today the links were gone from the Topic Properties menu and I am unable to add/link new IDs:I'm not quite sure what would have caused this, as the file location hasn't changed and I haven't done anything other than generate a new version of the project. Anyone have any ideas?I'm not well-versed in the behind-the-scenes workings of RH, so I'm not quite sure what to do here. Please help! Thanks,Erin
I've created hyperlinks to bookmarks. Some change color when clicked and some don't.
I have a Robohelp 9 project (single sourced through FrameMaker)I can compile the help and run. When I view it, I see the full help along with the "Allow blocked content" message. When I click Allow Blocked Content, my help appears but now the TOC is missing. (see images below)I have been generating the help for the same way for a long time and this is the first time I have seen this problem.I did install/uninstall Robohelp 10, but I have built help (albeit a different project) successfully after thatI do not really know what scripts are running here and blocked. Has anyone seen this and can anyone help?Thank you!
I am converting a RoboHelp 5 WebHelp project to RoboHelp 10 WebHelp and the project uses 508 compliant output. When I click on the search tab I see special characters like $, %, !, #, etc. showing up as search words. I have tried adding the characters to the Stop Words list and generating the output again but the special characters still show up. Is there a way to suppress these characters from showing up in search? The characters do not show up in the RoboHelp 5 508 output. I am using IE8.
When I search for "Glossary" the Glossary Topic does not appear at the top of the search list. When I type: "Search" The search Topic is at the top of the search list. Both of the topic titles are written with Heading 1 style.
Hi,I have 2 separate projects and they are both having the same issue....In the Project Manager > Broken Links folder no broken links display, but when I check in the HTML FIles (Topics) and Images folder I see broken links. Any ideas why this could be happening? Some where very obvious. It was an image on one of my very important pages.Help!
I've found a few topics on how to add the standard skin back/next script to a skin, for that I thank everyone. I would like to take it to the next level and make it behave even more like browser buttons meaning when a user has never navigated to a 2nd topic the Back button is unavailable (gray), when they have navigated to multiple topics the button is available (blue). Same for the next button.Standard script:For back:javascript:history.go(-1);For next:javascript:history.go(1);Any ideas?I believe I saw it somewhere before and now I can't find it.
I was wondering if it is possible to exclude topics from an index based on a conditional build tag or if the title contains "x" or by any other method (script?).There are hundreds of pages in this help that only contain an image and I don't want them in the Index. For example, there is a topic called "Widows dialog" and "Menu dialog", etc. I want to excude them from the Wizard without having to manually delete 500 pages from the index. Basically any topic with the word dialog in it. Of course I can have it not index the word dialog, but that doesn't help much. Also, what is your opinion on having topics with only screen shots in the index? Anyone else ever do this? Thanks for any feedback!
I am using Robohelp 10. I have to create a CHM file and have started using the option to create one from webhelp so that I can use a customised skin. When I generate the file I get a grey bar appearing on the left hand side of the screen:I am keen to have the navigation bar at the top with the back, forward and print buttons but if they are included it insists on this odd grey area on the left. Clicking on hide shuts it down and then it is fine but the end user has to do that themselves. How do I get it to build with it automatically hidden like this:These are my window settings - if take the tick out of TOC & Index the grey box goes but then so do the buttons. Oddly the Window is HTML - if I create a webhelp window I cannot pick it up in the Generate CHM output from webhelp option. Any ideas would be very gratefully received - I have 3 finished projects all ready to go apart from this!Next day update - by reading other postings I decided the bes
Hi folks, I have been trying for many hours to get this to work, but I am having no success.I am using Technical Communicator Suite 4. My FM11 book is "linked" into RoboHelp 10, I am generating HTML Help as my output.I have three heading levels in my FrameMaker doc (Heading 1, Heading2, Heading3) (there's are "Automapped" to RH's Heading 1, Heading 2 and Heading 3 styles).I also have three chapter files and a TOC in FrameMaker. I have followed all the advice in the TCS4 online help and in this Adobe blog article http://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2010/03/demystifying_mapping_filesettingisf_and_toc_generation.htmlabout how my FrameMaker TOC has to be "indented" but I simply cannot get it to work. The TOC I get in RoboHelp has a "book" for each chapter file in FrameMaker, then a "topic" within it for each Heading1, 2 and 3 - but these topics are not nested, they're all flat.I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi,This issue is only with IE. When I search for terms in the online help, search is displaying "searching results 100%"...but there is no search results that are displayed...can anyone help me with this...
I am using RH 10.0.1.292. I generated the Webhelp output and using IE 8 on Windows XP Professional SP3.The WebHelp output displays the topics but it is using the styles from the default.css.I want it to display the styles from the custom .css I have. The styles work when I generate the Microsoft HTML Help output but not when I generate the WebHelp.I have applied the .css at the topic level and can see the .css file in the Project Manager under the Style Sheets folder.I have also selected the .css in the webhelp settings under Content Categories when generating the webhelp. I did not see the css file in the output webhelp folder, so I put it in there. I do not see a css referenced in the output topic page. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Please help!
Hello,I have RH 9.0.2.271 installed in Windows 7. I have one project, with about 3500 topics and about 2300 map IDs.Two days ago the map IDs were working as normal, I saved, compiled and ran it.Today when I opened the project, all the map IDs were still in the *.hh files but they are no longer assigned to any topics. All of the IDs had previously been assigned to topics, there were no unused map IDs. Now if I manually reassign an ID to a topic, then save, compile and reopen the project, the reassigned ID is again unassigned. The only thing that changed in between the two RH sessions is that I made Chrome my default browser. I have since changed the default back to IE 10, but that did not fix the Map ID problem. Is there a way to reassign the Map IDs other than doing each one manually, and what needs to be done to save the assigned IDs when the project is closed? I'm adding a screen shot of the Edit Map IDs window. Previously, all the IDs in the left window were blue (assigned) and they
Web help search button does not work-All previous posts related to this issue have no resolution.Generate\save a project in System 1 search works and Generate\save a project in System2 search failsSystem 1 (win7-robohelp installed- admin-browser security tab enabled) --search function finds results with entry in search box and selecting GO button.System 2 (win7- robohelp installed - user- browser security tab not available) - search function finds no results with entry in search box and selectin GO button.Any suggestions? Does robohelp need to eun as admin to work correctly? What security tab functions could affect robohelp? Could this be a java issue?
We have a customer with search issues. Our help is WebHelp built in RH10. Our customer runs our software (and help) on a Citrix server with IE9/Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise. At least one user terminal has IE8/Windows XP Professional (ver. 2002 SP 3).When they run our help and click on the Search tab, following is displayed:Any ideas on what's causing this?
Hi, I need to create styles for the 3 different types of dropdown that I want to use in a new project.I've tried doing it and I can't work it out, even with the Adobe help. It always seems to default to the formatting of the original standard style. I tried duplicating the original style and changing that but my new one doesn't even show up in the top left list of styles.I also want to change how numbered lists look (font type and size) but I can't figure out how to do it without relying on inline formatting. Is there such a thing as a good overview of how to do this stuff anywhere? I think I'm lacking the basic concepts and I need to get it sorted before I go too far with this project. Thanks
Regarding RoboHelp’s Link to Word feature…I have a RH 9 HTML project on my local drive with several hundred help topics that are “linked as references” from Word documents on a network drive. All was well until recently… several of the linked help topics are showing as “out of sync” even though the source documents have not be changed or moved. The out of sync topics all seem to be randomly picked, and when I update one topic to get things back in sync, another topic appears out of sync. It is not project specific, because I created a new project and created links to the same Word documents and the out of sync issue happened again. I tried removing the cpd file and opening up the project so that a new cpd file is generated, but the problem persists. Any thoughts on why this is happening? Is it some sort of connection issue?
