Here's what i did:Output format has "generate word docx" checkedin the "Section Layout", i added a word doc (docx) at the top followed by "chapter layout"The generated doc starts with a blank page that only contains a section break. deleting the section break has no effect. What can i do to add the cover sheet that includes its header and footer?
When I Batch Generate my projects from File > Generate > Batch Generate, one of my selected layouts will not Publish. The Generate function works, but the Publish function does not. Nothing happens when I press Publish.Even when I publish only this layout using Batch Generate, it still will not Publish. I have to double-click the layout under Single Source Layouts in order to Publish.A couple of my other projects have the same issue, but some of my projects do not. Other users within my company have the issue. How do I fix this?Thank you,CharlaNote: I use Windows 7 Professional.

This time we can see 'Show' button(link) on the browser. If we click on 'Show', blank page get displayed.2. Hi,1)We are using Mutli Screen Desktop layout in Robohelp 10 project. While I understand that the output is not fully compatible with IE8, but in this case I am facing a show stopper issue that search results do not come up. They are coming fine in IE 9, 10 and other browsers. I also tried enabling the Active X/Java script settings in browser but it did not help. Can you please help?2)Also, when the Mutli Screen Desktop help page is called from external HTML with the below syntax <a href="Multiscreen_HTML5\index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=1&rhmapno=21"> the help page opens up in a small window with TOC left pane collapsed. We can then maximize it ofcourse. But we require opening it in full window mode with TOC left pane shown by default to user.Is there a solution to open it in max window size with left pane enabled? Will appreciate your insight and help on above questions. thanks in advance.
My RoboHelp 10 project has nested popup windows (that is, I can open a popup window within a popup window within a popup window). The problem is, when I close the popup window at the lowest level, all of them close simultaneously. This is not good for navigation, particularly if the user is following instructions in the popup window and needs to go back up one popup window level. Is there a method by which I can close each individual popup window, for example, by adding a Close button to them? In other words, can I change the format of the popup windows?Your help will be much appreciated in finding a solution to this problem because it is fundamental to the way we want our Help to function. If a solution can not be found, we may have to change to another product to produce our Help.
I have my help files created and sent to be published by the developers. How do I open that file so I can page through it and review it prior to sending it out again?
I'm looking for a way to test Multiscreen HTML5 output from the desktop for multiple screen profiles. Is there an emulator that will properly prompt the "sniffer" index.htm file in root to access the correct help set? My developers are trying to test the help using various browser sizes with Chrome and are not getting the correct screen profile to come up.For my project I have three screen profiles setup:Desktop:Width: 961px to 9999 pxHeight: 768 px t0 9999 pxBrowsers: Chrome, Firefox, MSIE, SafariMobile:Widgh 320 px to 600 pxHeight: 300 px to 1200 pxBrowsers: Android, iPhoneTablet:Width: 601 px to 960 pxHeight: 300 px to 800 pxBrowsers: Android, iPad, SilkAt this point my only idea for the developer testing is for me to drop all the Browser settings for each profile. Will the help work without this parameter?

We are using RoboHelp 10 on a Windows 7 platform. We publish directly out of FrameMaker to WebHelp via RoboHelp. However, this is not a FrameMaker issue, so I hope this is the right forum.Note that we check the format (indentation) of the headings in our TOC in our FrameMaker source files, and the FrameMaker TOC is formatted correctly. When we publish to WebHelp, the format of the nodes is fine for everything that is a heading 1 or 2 in FrameMaker. However, the hierarchy messes up sometimes at random on headings 3 or 4.Here are two examples, where the underscore represents the indentation. How the hierarchy should appear in WebHelp (and how it actually appears in FrameMaker):Heading 1___Heading 2______Heading 3_________Heading 4How the WebHelp TOC hierarchy actually appears at times:Heading 1 [open book icon] (always ok)___Heading 2 [open book icon] (always ok)______Heading 3 [topic icon]______Heading 3 [topic icon]______Heading 3 [topic icon]______Heading 4 [topic icon]______Heading 4 [t
Hi,Previously, our organisation used Eclipse for creating online help for eclipse based application. Now we wanted to use the same html files in Robohelp (without disturbing the structure of html files arranged in the folder) to build eclipse help and pdf. While starting Robohelp and creating new project, it is not accepting the folder location with the exisiting html files.. It specifies it needs an empty folder. If I add a new folder, then it creates another copy of the html files in the repository. We need only one copy of html files in the repository..Also wanted to know the files which can be deleted from the workspace, once the output (online help, PDF) is generated for avoiding space in the repository.thanks in advance,Nalini
I'd like to add an achored button to appear at the top of the page on the right on select pages. Can I do this with Adobe Air?
I am trying to stop RoboHelp 10 mucking up (shrinking) my PNG screenshots when importing a FrameMaker 11 book. The help file is at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/TechComSuite/3.0/Using/WS1b49059a33f77726-31aee1b1342288940d-7fd0.htmlIn the Image Conversion Settings dialog, there is a field for 'Maximum Dimensions' but the default units it wants appears to be points?I want to specify it in pixels, as that is what my PNGs are composed of! How do I do that?I'm getting the error message "Give a valid value for 'Width' field in 'Maximum Dimensions'. Valid values include measurements in pt, pc, cm, mm, in"This is at odds with the Help docs, which includes the line "For example, if you specify the window size to be 800 x 600 pixels, you can specify the maximum dimensions to be 640 x 480, so that the images do not exceed the window size."
Win 7I have had Air installed for at least a year. I was updating a separate program and something went awry with the update. All of a sudden most of my 32bit programs would not work and had to be reinstalled. When I tried programs that work with Air, I get the cannot find the Application Descriptor error. The programs I use are Less Parser, Crunch(another less parser), and Tweetdeck.I cannot uninstall Air with Windows, I cannot update it, and as you see below I cannot install Air applications. I uninstalled Crunch and tried to re-install it. I am hoping there is a way through this.My appdata/local/air/logs[2013-11-11:00:35:41] Runtime Installer begin with version 3.9.0.1030 on Windows 7 x86[2013-11-11:00:35:41] Commandline is: -arp:uninstall[2013-11-11:00:35:41] Installed runtime (3.9.0.1030) located at c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe AIR[2013-11-11:00:35:41] Exiting due to error: [ErrorEvent type="error" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="app:/setup.swf" error
Is it possible to export topics from from RoboHelp 10 to Excel 2007? If so, how? Thanks!
We currently have a 2,200 topic RoboHelp HTML 10.0 project and are looking for a solution whereby multiple writers can work on it at one time. Because the topic IDs change frequently, any solution with a file sharing software (we tried Tortoise SVN) is not usable at this time. One thought we had was that we could split the project into separate projects and then publish the output to a shared location, thereby creating one WebHelp output that we could post. It must be a WebHelp output that we can post on the Internet. We would like a shared TOC, Search and Index if possible so that to the user, it just appears that they are using one help system. I am finding it difficult to sift through all of the information in the forum and Adobe website to find a specific way to do this. We want to stay with RoboHelp as our help authoring tool. What suggestions would you recommend?
We decided not to add Index keywords to our project, so it would be nice to exclude its tab from the output.
I'm using Robohelp 10.I compile my HTML help file after adding a few new topics. The file compiles without any error messages. But when I open the help file and try to perform a search, I get the "'VarHTMLHelp' is undefined" error message. How can I get rid of this?
I'm using RoboHelp HTML 10 with SharePoint as my version control. When team members attempt to check in files, they receive the following message:The message appears for several items to check in, so team members have to click Yes many times to actually check in. I'm not sure if this is a RH configuration issue or a SharePoint issue. Is there a way to stop the message?I set SharePoint settings as instructed here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/robohelp/robohtml/WS1b49059a33f77726-5aab66613798e5ec9b-7ffe.htmlI have the following Version Control settings in RH:
We have been using the same site for a couple of years. In the last week when I try to publish it errors out with "parameter incorrect". The Intranet address has not changed. It will actually push the file over, but with errors such as not all .jpgs will display correctly. Can someone help please??
I am able to successfully build a project from the command line. I want to also publish the HTML output to a website. When logged onto the build PC, I go to the folder where my RH project resides and I enter a command like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 9\RoboHTML\RHCL.exe" "MyProject.xpj" -p "MyServer:MyLogin:MyPassword" -g rh.log The above command appears to work perfectly. Now, I have a CI (Jenkins) that I need to be able to invoke the above command from as part of a bigger build process. The EXACT same command above, when invoked from the CI (on a different PC) does not work. The help compiles just fine; no problems there. The problem is the publishing to the website, that fails. When reviewing the log I see the following at the end of the log: Finished applying Template in 1 sec(s)Finished applying WebHelp in 16 sec(s)Compilation complete.Warning: Failed to publish to "MyServer". reason; The login request was denied.Tests Done: - Copy/paste the command from Je
I need to install the RoboHelp 9.0.1 and/or 9.0.2 service releases. I have 9.0.0.228 installed and the "Updates" link is deactivated on the help menu (though obviously there are two updates available). When I try to update either service release manually via the AdobePatchInstaller, I get an error messsage that the Update Failed - Updates could not be applied because updates are suppressed by the Administrator. I am an administrator on my computer and updates are not being suppressed. Is there another setting I am missing?
I created an HTMLHelp project using RoboHelp 9 that is housed on a server here at the office. Users use a link to access the server and the help file. I am finding that the online help works fine on IE8, IE9 and Firefox...but does not work with IE10 (links within the help...whether on the TOC, Index or Search just take the user to a blank page). It does work with IE10 when in compatibility mode...but unfortunately our software does not work properly when IE10 is in compatibility mode.Does anyone know of a way to make online help projects created with RoboHelp 9 work with IE10...or do I need to upgrade to a newer version of RoboHelp? Thanks in advance.
Is there a way to include Review Comments made in RoboHelp in the PDF for Review? Or is there another way to get Review Comments printed? If this isn’t possible: Does anyone know another easy way for me (as the one who updates in RoboHelp but does not have expert knowledge of the application described in the help) to ask the product owner/reviewer questions like “is this correct”, “should this be updated”, “should this move somewhere else”?(I really like Review Comments because they mark the text I have issues about and it fits neatly in the work process to write them as I work with a topic.)Thanks!
The instructions for installing the security update reference only \RoboHTML. MDBMS.dll also resides in the \RoboHelp folder. Should the patch be applied in the RoboHelp folder as well as the RoboHTML folder?
