Has anyone seen this issue I'm having where you start to type in a search term and the webhelp initiates the search before you're done typing and also adds a space? For example, if I start typing "anonymous" into the search, I get to about "anon" and then the search starts and a space is added at the end so now the search field shows "anon ". Also, when this happens if you don't let it finish searching before you hit backspace and try to finish typing the word, I get the "Failed to load XML" error and you have to refresh the browser to proceed.NOTE: This only happens in IE and Firefox. Chrome functions perfectly.I'm on RH10.
I'm using RH10 Webhelp and am required to upload source files to CVS via eclipse. I have been uploading files with changed dates to maintain a current version on CVS.However, I have discovered that the files in the main project folder that I thought were storing user variables and build tags and have new dates after I've made changes, are not the correct files. Please tell me which files store the updated variables and build tags so that I can include them in my upload.thanks, karen
I'm testing the integration of RoboHelp Projects with SVN (with PushOk plugin).Everything has worked well until now apart from renaming files. The following error occurs: COM.SvnClient.Error, HRESULT=0x80020009Path '...' is not a directoryThere is a similar discussion from 2010 in the forum: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3005946#3005946The suggestion is to duplicate the topic into a new name. But this is not a workaround for us. What about hyperlinks referencing the topic?I can't see this beeing the only way to rename files. Isn't there another solution?
The images in my HTML5 output are being stretched vertically when viewed in Internet Explorer 8. I know there are HTML5 issues in general with IE, especially older versions, but is there a quick fix for this? I've attached an example below. The first image is supposed to be the search icon (magnifying glass) and the second is a little printer icon. Both are stretched vertically.
Is there a way in RoboHelp9 to allow print PDF option for topics in a published WebHelp? My need is for a context sensitive help embedded in the application. Thank you.
I am using RH 10.0.1.292. I am able to add most of the widgets to screen layouts for a phone screen, but there are a few that are grayed out. When using the Screen Layout Editor in Design mode, the widgets that are not available from the toolbar are: - Search Results Area and Search Results Area (Small Screens) - Topic - All the Browse Sequence widgetsWhat step am I missing to have these enabled?
I have several hundred topics in my project. I just opened the project and all of my topics are showing as broken links. There are no topics listed either in the topics pod or the HTML files (topics) section in the project manager. How can I get them back without linking each file manually? I tried deleting the .cpd file but still the same.
I don't get it. I have a new computer. More RAM, faster processors etc, yet doing something as simple as clicking on a menu, RH takes around two-three seconds before showing the menu!On the Customize dialog box for the menu, on Options, I have this:I thought setting Menu animations to None would fix this, but there's no visible difference. Any ideas on how to fix this? It's just happening in RH.I have RH 9.02.271Windows 7 Ulitmate OS, 64-bit system
Does RoboHelp 10 work with SharePoint 2013. If not is it planned to support SharePoint 2013 in near feature? When? Is there any road map?
Hello,We aare using Robohelp 10 to develop and generate our WebHelp system. This output is being integrated into our browser-based application that has been developed using Python, and the the user interface is rendered as .dtm files. Now, the issue is that when after integration on the Webhelp, the help container is displayed with the context sensitivity, but without the left-pane (having the search and index tabs). We looked into the RoboHelp api, and understood that if the left-pane is to appear by default, then the context sensitivity will be lost and the default help topic is displayed always. Is this correct? Can someone please help us ?Thank YouVinay
It's Magic!...or something.I am using TCS 4 (FM11, RH10).This is a screenshot from FM. It is a graphic (PNG) with a text line or text frame (I've tried both) over it. The text is "Duration".After importing into RH, this is what it looks like. What happened to the text? It took each letter in "Duration" and added 3 places to it: D becomes G (D ef G), u becomes x (u vw x), and so on.WTF? (or ZWI in this case). It also appears to have merged the text with the graphic into a single image in RH.Can someone explain this? Has anyone seen it before? And how do I fix it? I mean, besides changing the word to "Aro^qflk" (which does work, btw).Help.
When I generate output as an eBook, the results do not use the correct fonts. I assume I need to embed the fonts somehow, but I have not been able to find a way to do this. The font names are listed in the .css file, so I don't think that's the problem. I'm using RoboHelp 10, and using EPUB3 as the eBook format.
Hello all,Has anyone been able to generate an epub output that includes nest lists that are aligned properly?I have been trying to get nested lists to behave properly for a long time, with Multilevel lists, HTML lists, converting autonumbering to text, but to no avail.I have tried generated epub 2.0 output (using the script) and epub 3 output (using the SSL) to no avail. I am able to generate Webhelp with no problem.the epub 2.0 output using multilevel lists looks a bit better than the epub 3, but still not perfect. It looks fine in Robohelp, but not in the output as displayed on an ipad.epub 3 output seems to be a problem because the custom rh-list definitions are ignored completely. If anyone has figure out how to define nested lists (ordered and unordered) for output to epub, please let me what method you are using.I've attached some photos. In Robohelp it looks fine:In ibooks at small font, it looks all right, but there are a few small alignment issues:In ibooks at large font, the is
Hi, Working happily in Design view using RH 10, and from one moment to the next the Design View display changed. The font display has changed to a truncated style and the word wrap has disappeared. I tried rebooting and then reinstalling and no luck in getting rid of the issue. The output is fine and as expected, so I am presuming that it isn't the CSS. Which I haven't edited for eons anyway so it really shouldn't be that anyway. This is happening on all my help projects - each with a different CSS - so it can't be the css unless RH did some sort of strange global change behind the scenes without my knowledge. Any thoughts on how to get Design View to display normally would be much appreaciated, Thanks, Tannis
I have a small project of about 20 topics so far and tried to produce printed documentation as PDF and as Word, but neither would work. I kept getting an errow that said:Waiting for Printed Documentation VBA Macros to be registered. Failed to register Printed Documentation VBA Macros. Then Robohelp freezes and I have to use the Task Manager to close it. After it closes I see this error message. I looked at online help for Word, about disabling macros which you can access in Word's Trust Center. But the Help advised against it, says it's dangerous to disable macros. I'm not sure how to fix this. Any ideas?I have Windows 8, and am saving to a local drive.
Text assigned my normal style has bold formatting assigned. But the style itself doesn't call for bold. Also, things that were supposed to be hold (e.g., GUI elements) now are no longer bold!If I select a paragraph with this odd bolding, Word says it has the normal style assigned. But if I highlight the paragraph, and then assign the normal style again, the bold goes away and all seems well.I can fix this stuff manually, I guess, but there has to be a better way. What am I doing wrong?
How can I troubleshoot"The Printed Documentation Wizard encountered an unexpected error when attempting to generate Printed Documentation"using Robohelp HTML 10.0.0.287It did create an output file, but I don't know if it's complete. It created a log file in output directory that only contains:|SourceProjectName:WINPOS.hpr|DestinationProjectName:
Hello all,I have created customized styles for myself and my team to use for authoring content, which I then import to RoboHelp, as I am the only individual who understands RoboHelp and HTML/CSS. I created a corresponding CSS style sheet in RoboHelp to correspond with the names of the Word styles. When I go to import the files in RoboHelp, I am running in to an issue with paragraph tags and heading tags. When I import a file from a Word document, I have not found a way to map a <p> tag that is parsed from a Word document to an <h> tag, as heading tags do not appear as a selectable item in the Conversion Settings window when importing Word files. I would be able to keep the formatting if I left the headings as <p> tags; however, it is my understanding that RoboHelp 10 search relies heavily on the heading tags for weighting search results. I have about 400 topics, and search is used heavily by those using my documentation. I would prefer to keep the <h> tags
I am trying to import HTML files from a previous version of online help into a newer version, but am getting the following error:"The filename is invalid. The ''' character cannot be used in a path."I have checked filenames of all HTML topics but I could not see '' or any other special characters having been used. This is happening for all HTML files in the older release of the help, not just one. Used version 9 for creating the older version, and that's what I am using for the new version. Please advise. If this error cannot be resolved, I'll have to manually copy the content from older topics into topics created in the new help.
I am using RoboHelp 9 and can't seem to find out what WebHelp Search actually searches. Will it search Word documents, PowerPoint or PDF documents that are included in the Project files?Or does it only search for the keywords that I enter for that topic page that the file is linked to?Deb
Hi,We have integrated the webhelp into our application. The webhelp is showing all the tabs (TOC, Search, and Index tabs) in the landing page of the application. When I navigate to the other screens of the application and access context sensitive help I'm not getting the TOC, Search, and Index tabs displayed in the help page.If somebody has come across same issue please me know the workaround. Thanks,Panendra
I know this is all a day late and a follar short but for those folks that still use Robohelp for Word:If your company is going to Windows 7, X5 will not work. You need to bump it up to at least RH8.Even after you upgrade, if you use the tripane (winhelp_2000) view in RH for Word, it will not work on Windows 7 even with the microsoft patch. With the patch it will look like an older version of RH in winhelp_4. At least I have not been able to get it to display. What will work is if you compile it in Webhelp. You will loose some links. I know I should be moving to Robhelp Html and I tried, but when I did that I got a lot of garbage at the top of all my topics, I lost all my external links and I would have to retrain my partner...Now about links. My only complaint about Robohelp for Word was it's limited external linking capacity. If you use RH for Word you know you can only brouse to the net or to an htm or html document. It doesn't mean you
Is there a way to add a font button to the toolbar in RH 10
I have RH 10. I applied the patch to generate output files for IE 10. Links for index key words assigned to more than one topic do not display correctly for me in IE 10....In the above image, "Account class" has two linked topics. The gray box displaying the topics no longer has the border it had in IE 8, the font size is larger than it was previously, the text of both topics is truncated on the right, and only part of the second topic is visible. The image below shows the same info in IE 8 compatibility mode.Similar issues occur if more than two topics exist. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a resolution for it? Thanks!Tim
I've read posts about this issue but I have not received a satisfactory answer as to why this occurs or how to fix it. Note that this problem occurs regardless of the complexity of the project. When the project is first generated (DHTML > Pure HTML is selected), I first receive a script/ActiveX warning....After I accept the option to allow Blocked Content, the TOC no longer appears and the Search, Index, and Glossary buttons no longer function. When I click the Error icon on the lower left corner of the page, the following appears:Note that this error was not encountered in RH 8. My system is Windows 7 and my browsers are IE8 and Mozilla (Firefox ESR 17.0.7).I would appreciate any guidance regarding this situation.Thank you.
