Hello everybody. I need a hand loading multiple images using the LoadVars method with a text file. I can get it to load 1 image but not anymore than that. I am aware of other methods like using components but I am looking for a method where I can access and change all data from 1 text file (there will be text variable text within the file aswell to, but I am more concerned with the images at the moment). Anyway on to the issue. I have created a much simple .fla file that outlines my problem. The movie contains 3 layers: - top layer contains AS - middle layer contains an empty movie clip with the instance name of mcImage1 - bottom layer contains an empy movie clip with the instance name of mcImage2 The AS layer contains the following code: imagedata = new LoadVars() imagedata.load("data.txt") imagedata.onLoad = function(ok){ if(ok){ mcImage1.loadMovie(this.Image1) mcImage2.loadMovie(this.Image2) } else trace("Problem Loading") } In the same folder of my .swf fil

Hello all I have a random picture flash animation that works with one frame only. The principle is that it loads files from an Array of filenames that is staticly filled out into an empty Clip object on the timeline. Works out great! But the problem I have is that I have to make it dynamic. The customer must be able to add files as he wants through a system that works with text files (and I can't modify that system). So basically, he would upload the files and the system would add the new filename to a textfile from which the animation would add it to the array. My question is how can I fill an array from a text file? Thank you!

I've read most of the CFChart posts but cannot get this to work exactly how I want it to. What I need is for the chart to display TQ along the X axis and Counts along the Y axis. Then I need two values displayed as stacked bars for each TQ along the X axis. The first value is the InsideTQ, the next value is OutsideTQ. Both InsideTQ and OutsideTQ equal the total count of points for a TQ value. e.g TQ value 5 has a count of 60 InsideTQ points and 55 OutsideTQ points, so TQ value 5 has a total of 115 points. This part works pretty good. The problem is that I have muliple Originators for each TQ and for each InsideTQ and OutsideTQ. I want to display the TQ values along the X axis ( 1 to 15 ) but only display them once. In each TQ value I want to have the Originators with their In and Out values displayed as stacked bars. e.g. Originator Y, TQ 5, Inside 60, Outside 55 next show Originator Z, TQ 5, Inside 40, Outside 35. If it isn't asking too much, I would also always like for the

I'm doing a simple Minus equation here it is: Question : 100.24 - 100.23 My Answer : 0.01 Flash Answer : = 0.0.00999999999999091 Question : 10.24 - 10.23 My Answer : 0.01 Flash Answer : = 0.00999999999999979 Question : 0.24 - 0.23 My Answer : 0.01 Flash Answer : = 0.01 Why when i'm over 10.00, Flash gives me a wrong answer. Also, there is somethings weird. If I put the number in textfields and I display the result, it will be different of the same equation in a trace. I need to build a form that calculate money. It's a problem for me if decimal are not valid! Any idea?

I am looking for example code of a web service inserting data into a database. I have usuccessfully been taking a crack at it. Below is the code: page that calls the web service: <cfinvoke webservice = " http://localhost/cf_test/StoryBuild.cfc?wsdl" method = "insertSBdata" returnVariable = "insertSBdata"> <cfinvokeargument name="inputParam1" value="Fname"> <cfinvokeargument name="inputParam2" value="Lname"> <cfinvokeargument name="inputParam3" value="Department"> <cfinvokeargument name="inputParam4" value="Story"> </cfinvoke> <cfdump var="#insertSBdata#"> web service: <cfcomponent> <cffunction name="insertSBdata" access="remote" returntype="any"> <cfquery name="qStoryBuild" datasource="EDStoryBuild"> INSERT INTO story_tb VALUES ('#inputParam1#', '#inputParam2#', '#inputParam3#','#inputParam4#') </cfquery> </cffunction> </cfcomponent> Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to learn ActionScript, and while the fog is starting to lift there are little things like this that confuse me. I have an existing audio player project that I'm revising according to the Best Practices docs. In the first frame of the Action layer it has a script that includes variable declarations like this: this.autoStart = 0; It appears this code declares a variable called autoStart and sets its initial value to zero. In the variable list window at runtime it comes up as: Variable _level0.autoStart = 0 So It's working as it is, but in reading the documentation it appears it would be better to write the code like this: var this.autoStart:Number = 0; However that doesn't work. It generates an error when I try to test the movie. If I change it to: var autoStart:Number = 0; It works. All I've done is remove the "this." from the declaration. I'm trying to understand why the notation this.autostart works without the var keyword, but not with the var keyword. Tha

Hello - really needing some help! I have a movie clip that contains a button. (i.e. my_mc.my_btn) I have some event handlers for the movie clip (my_mc.onRollOut, my_mc.onRelease, etc..) and they are working fine. However, after I add these event handlers to deal with the movie clip, my buttons inside my movie clip quit working all together. It's like the movie clip handlers are overridding the button functionality. How can I use movie clip handlers and my buttons inside continue to work? Help!

Download zipped FLA If anyone is bored, I'm having a problem with a rollover issue in the above movie that I have been creating. It is an interactive, navigable map of city parks. Rollover of the individual dots marking park locations on the map works fine. But I am also trying to list all the parks' names on the right, where you see the "Bergen Park" button. This is so that the user can either mouse over the map locations and see the park name OR find where the park is located by mousing over the park name on the right. I want this "Bergen Park" button to cause a section of the movie clip that has an instance name of "bergen" to play, making the Bergen Park dot on the map enlarge when the "Bergen Park" button is moused over. I thought that this actionscript would do it: on (rollOver) { _root.bergen.gotoAndPlay("11"); } on (rollout) { _root.bergen.gotoAndPlay("19"); } But it is not working when the movie loads. Only if I mouse over the Bergen Golf Course dot on the map does t

How can I get the new MX7 tags in my "auto-complete" code writer in DW7 (7.0.1). For example <cfformgroup>. Thank you.

so I thought this would be simple enough, but i keep on getting a value of "-1" when i run this. the showVideo(mystream) function is called whenever a video is selected from a list component, and "mystream" is populated from an XML document. The video plays fine, so why am I getting a value of "-1"?

HI, I would like to know if I can create a topic inside a topic (sub-topic), the result would be like a tree. I have a topic title but I would like to add some related subjects as sub-topics and I cannot find where to do that without adding a whole new topic. I'm using RoboHelp HTML. Thanks a lot! Beatriz.

Hi , I have a form to input a club members details including their address. The club member is a child and so there is a related parent/guardian address table. My question is, how do I get my form to autofill the parent /guardians address if it is the same as the childs address so that the record can be submitted to my database without having to fill in the address twice? I have seen forms with tick boxes to say the address is the same for delivery as for cerdit card holder for example. How is this done please? Any guidance appreciated. Thanks Jules I am using ASP with MS Access.

Can anyone confirm if they have been able to activate RoboHelp today? The thread below suggest that this is becoming a problem. See the update section at the bottom of the post. http://www.pbase.com/image/63272581.jpg http://monkeypi.net/?p=61 It seems almost too conspiritorial to be true.

I have a CFREPORT Template that has been running fine for months. This report has 8 layered controls (Color coded page tabs for a Table of Contents). Yesterday I added 2 new Calculated Fields and added 2 layers to the 8 making ten layers. Each layer has its own "Print When" clause etc etc. Ever since I have been getting the error message in the title of this thread. Is there some kind of clue or secret code to help figure out what is going on here? I have no 0 length text at least that I can see. How can I pinpoint which control or field may be causing the problem?

This is driving me nuts. I'm trying to load an html text file into a dynamic text box labeled 'loadedInfo.' 'loadedInfo' is in a movieclip instance called 'text_field' - however I can't seem to get it to work or even pull up the error that I wrote into the action script (even though I have a similar script working on another site I did). Here's my actionscript to pull that variable into the dynamic text box (it's in the main timeline): myLV.load("resume.txt"); //Load Vars var myLV:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); myLV.onLoad = function(success) { if (success) { text_field.loadedInfo.htmlText = myLV.info; } else { text_field.loadedInfo.text = "There has been an error loading the requested information. Please contact the webmaster and report your error."; } } If you want to see the swf file it's here: http://www.midnight007.com/pizza/layer_100resume.swf And, if you want to see the fla file it's here: http://www.midnight007.com/pizza/layer_100resume.fla

Currently, when I try to publish my work to the web, I recieve "Failed to publish. reason: Canceled by user". Now I know I haven't cancelled it, so I'm assuming it has been timing out. I can publish perfectly fine to my hard drive, however I encounter problems when publishing to the web. I've been using the FTP option. I know the server is being reached due to the creation of the project folder. I've tried numerous times to publish both to a folder being created by RH, and a folder I previously created. Any suggerstions?

Ok, I've been working on this all day and I hoping someone can help me. The alerts work correctly, but the form never submits. I've tried changing the cfinputs to read submit versus button. When I do that, it blows by the JS alerts and submits the page. I need the alerts to appear BEFORE submitting the page. <cfform name="LINAdmin" method="post" action="prereqBranch.cfm" format="flash"> <cfformitem type="script"> function submitButton(type) { if (type == "Transition LIN") { if (resultsGrid.selectedItem.lin == undefined) { alert("You must select a LIN to transition."); return false; } else { alert("Before you can mark a LIN for transition, you must complete the following form."); LINAdmin.Submit();} } } </cfformitem> <cfformgroup type="horizontal" style="horizontalAlign:center;"> <cfinput type="button" name="branch" value="Transition LIN" onClick="submitButton('Transition LIN')"> <cfinput type="button" name="branch2" value="LIN Remains" on

I'm getting an 'error executing a database query.' The query is a simple <cfquery name="myquery" datasource="#application.dsn#"> SELECT * FROM #url.table# </cfquery> The debugging info i get is as follows: SELECT * FROM Order VENDORERRORCODE -3506 SQLSTATE 42000 It also states the error is in the FROM clause and only happens when url.table is Order, not the other table names. I know the order table exists because i get a nonexistent table name error when url table is a bogus table name. This implies that it knows the order table exists but says there's an error in the FROM clause. The query is successful on all the other tables in my db (MS access, i'm using the access driver without unicode). Any ideas?

Hello, I created a scroller that reads from an RSS page using the XML object and XML Load method. Every minute I call the XML Load method to reload the data. This works well when under Firefox and Opera, but it is not reloading on Internet Explorer. Any ideas? I am using IE Version 6 SP2. Is this related to Internet Explorer security? Is there a work around? -- Thanks in Advance
