Is there anyway that I can pass a particular string to an array and it return only the fields associated with that string. e.g. my_array.sort("age=50",Array.NUMERIC); In some way I want this to return ONLY the fields associated with all ages that are equal to 50 from within the array. I think Ive made that clear enough. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Hi guys and girls! I've created a login system for a site that has two groups of users - administrators and members. My login system is working fine, and when logged in the user goes to the members area. However, I'm trying to edit the login system so that people in the 'Administrator' group go to admin.cfm and 'Member's go to member.cfm. I've tried using one of the tutorials in the developer centre, but it doesn't seem to have helped much. If it makes any difference, I am using CF7. Thanks a lot, whoever helps will be doing me such a big favour!!

Hi all, i have the following problem: I have a list component on stage. I have 10 Items in the list , selected index is 5. Now i want to delete all the items above 5 (6-10). I think an array would be a solution but im not so kind with this so i need your help. Thank you Simon

I have a new intel-based 17" macbook. I can only get audio to play through my usb headset with flash. All's well with every other audio application: quicktime, dvd player, vlc, etc. Is there any way to set flash player preferences? They don't seem to use the system setting. The apple store recommended a format/reinstall. That's pretty harsh for what looks like a prefrences setting. Any advice?

I've gone over this code and tried loadsa different things but onSessionEnd just won't work! Session variables are enabled and i have set a sessionTimeout in the application.cfc but still nothing! i'm trying to load pics into a loader in my movieclip, i'm looping through about 20 items, to be placed in a movieclips dynamically attached... this does not work... mcContainer['node'+nCount].pic.contentPath=myimagepath; this does work... mcContainer['node'+nCount].pic.loadMovie(myimagepath); but it does not come in scaled / sized like I want... any reason why the images do not appear in the loader component in the movieclip? it's like the screen is not being refreshed or the loader never finishes, when I trace the contentPath after the fact it says the right path, but no image is there.

Hello to all (on a Sunday afternoon), Briefly: Trying to load 32 movie clips (via the script below) onto the stage (dynamically). In theory, each clip (or box) will load through a For Loop and each name of the clip is loaded through the number created by the loop. The problem is the x and y position is ignored ONLY when I insert a variable name instead of "this" in f "this._x" or "this._y". (The variable I am using is _global.cl_Name) The clips load fine but all in the upper left hand corner of the stage. Any help or variation on this theme would be appreciated. Thanks D.

I have a requirement for a user to input multiple paragraphs of information into a MEMO field on an Access database. When user enters multiple paragraphs, they run together. Looking at the posting database it said something about TEXTAREA WRAP but it did not solve provide the breaks needed between paragraphs. My next idea for solving the problem was to have the user enter a paragraph of text data and store that in seperat fields within the database. I need for the user to be able to click on different buttons to tell me when no more data is coming. I can see that you can name a button on "input" but i don't seem to be able to access it on action page. How can I best accomplish getting breaks between paragraphs? thanks

I have the page, when it first loads; it displays image1 with all the text1 for description1 for this image1. If I refresh the page, then it display different image and text description suppose image2 and text2 for description2 and so on until image5 and text5. Every time the page it loads, it appears different image. Is anyone done something like this? Can you guys help? Thanks

On one of our servers that is running Windows 2003, SP1, CFMX 6.1 (6,1,0,83762) we receive the following about every other day. "Not enough storage is available to process this command." The message only comes up on one of the .cfm pages and the other .cfm pages are stillaccessable. We have over 2GB of disk space available and 1GB RAM so I don't think either of those are the issue. In order to resolve the problem, I simply stop/restart CF and then everything works OK. The only thing that I know that has changed with the server during the past few weeks is that the following MS Patches were installed: MS06-013, MS06-014 and MS06-015. Is anyone else experincing the problem and if yes, what is the fix. I realize that I could always uninstall the patches, but wanted to see if there is another alternative before doing so. Thanks

Can I set a certain page to ignore an IF statement in the application file which I want every other page on the site to take not of. ie is it possible / is there an instruction that says don't read the application file in this page. OR Can someone explain how I can wrap the statement in an IF that says if the page is xxx then don't do the statement else do it. Since this will run every page I need it to do the least work to keep processing times fast. thanks for any ideas. Simon

I have a form, when users push the next button there will be some input field checking before the user is realy going to the next page. Now I want to check if the zip code (Netherlands) is not less than 6 postions. In the begining I used this code: if (zipcode_txt.text eq "") { result_txt.text = "Your zipcode is empty"; } But now I want to check if there are really 6 positions in the input field. I have already been trying this code, but that's not working: if (zipcode_txt.text le 6) { result_txt.text = "Your zipcode is empty"; } Can someone help me out here

Hi, I would appreciate some help writing a conditional statement so that a folder doesn't get compilied into the output. I know how to select each file and select the advance tab... but is there a way to write a statement in the SSL to exclude whole folders? Example: I have a "Junk" folder that I have created in the TOC and also as an IE type folder and I want everything in it not to be compiled in the output. Thanks

OK - I'll try and explain: I want to use CF (MX6) to format a js variable while inside a js function: e.g: <cfoutput> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> function formatSomething() { var something = "#DateFormat('02/04/06','dd MMM yyyy')#"; alert(something); } </script> </cfoutput> Now this is ok if I hardcode the value of 'something'. What if I want to pass 'something' in? <cfoutput> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> function formatSomething(something) { var somethingElse = "#DateFormat('"+something+"','dd MMM yyyy')#"; alert(somethingElse); } </script> </cfoutput> Of course this doesn't work! - Neither does: var somethingElse = eval("#DateFormat('"+something+"','dd MMM yyyy')#"); var somethingElse = "#Evaluate(DateFormat('"+something+"','dd MMM yyyy'))#"; var somethingElse = eval("#Evaluate(DateFormat('"+something+"','dd MMM yyyy'))#"); It's not specifically dates either - I just want to

Hello Gurus I have an application that encrypts confidential data and am looking for experts to guide me to the best method for storing the encryption key. We have an outsourced company that manages our DB - I don't want to store the key in the DB. We have a an outsourced company that manages the app/web server and web files - I don't want to store the key in a file on the server. I'm currently storing the key in an app scoped variable but don't want to do that either! Now what's left (if anything)?!?!

website: http://www.datafusionsystems.com/ Click on link to download resume. You will see it downloads it as index.cfm. Here is the code I am using. <cfif isdefined("URL.downloadresume")> <cfcontent file="c:\domains\datafusionsystems.com\wwwroot\noah_britton_resume.doc" type="application/msword" deletefile="no"> </cfif> I have no idea why it is behaving strangely. I'm not using CFHEADER of CFCACHE on this page. Thanks!

I have the attached code for declaring and then using session values. However anytime I submit a form to the page with the session variables I am told that the varaibles are not defined, which should not be so since I have declared the said variables. For example I am currently getting the following error: Element PRODUCTNAME is undefined in FORM. But as per my code, this has been defined. I have also tested the other elements and they are all being shown as undefined. As always I aprreciate the help

I've had this code working before in other projects, but for some reason it's not working now in this new one. Can anyone see the problem? There's a "Button1" instance on the stage and the Actionscript for the frame has this: Button1.onRelease = b1release() { var my_valid_frames:Array = new Array(2,4,6); function b1release() { var temp_frame:Number = my_valid_frames[random(my_valid_frames.length)] this.gotoAndPlay(temp_frame); } When you press the button, absolutely nothing happens.

I have a layout that I've created in Flash that involves bringing a picture in dynamically into a box. I can get it to come in at the top left without a problem, but ideally I need it to fill the height of the box (if it's a portrait picture) or the width (if it's landscape). The box's dimensions are 555px wide x 420px height If it is a portrait picture, then it needs to be centred horizontally. I'm so used to pressing a couple of buttons in InDesign (fit content proportionally and then centre in box) that I forget everything technical in Flash requires so much thought! Any help would be most appreciated. Andy

Hello, I have an application that I want to sort by the email address URL ( everything right of the @ ) , but still want to display the full email address. There was a question similar to this but it was not answered in a format that I could use. I am using an Access Database. My query is <cfquery name="getEmails" dataSource="#application.db#"> SELECT email_ID, email_address FROM email_out ORDER by email_address </cfquery> I have tried the ListLast(email_address,"@") in the SQL statement but can not get it to work. I have tried the ListLast(email_address,"@") in the query output which will print out the right part of the email address, but that is not quite what I want. I want to have the query output all of the information but sort it by the text that is right of the @ i.e. janet@wpxdesign.com jim@wpxdesign.com wayne@wpxdesign.com So basically if this did not throw an error this is what I would need - <cfquery name="getEmails" dataSource="#application.db#"&gt

I have a task that needs to be run every two weeks (14 days then 28 days, etc... after the date.) from a date that is extracted from a database. How would I do this?

Hi, I have database table and need need to pull the information from the table by its specific row, does anyone know how i can do that? Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.

hi there i am trying to acomplish what i thought was a simple task of updating one field in my db using the contents of another in my tbl_profiles i have: key | penSignedIn | lastSignedIn 73 | | 2006-05-19 21:14:56.0 I am trying to update my table so the tbl_profiles.penSignedIn field is populated with the contents of tbl_profiles.lastSignedIn <cfquery datasource="nya"> UPDATE tbl_profiles SET PenSignedIn = #rs_user.lastSignedIn# WHERE profileID = 73 </cfquery> i am getting this CF error "Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression '2006-05-19 21:14:56.0'. " and CF says "SQL : UPDATE tbl_profiles SET PenSignedIn = 2006-05-19 21:14:56.0 WHERE profileID = 73 " which looks ok to me!! i've tied various different formats such as SET PenSignedIn = {ts '#MM_rsUser.lastSignedIn#'} SET PenSignedIn = #MM_rsUser.lastSignedIn# SET PenSignedIn = '#MM_rsUser.lastSignedIn#' but none seem to work which is driving me up the wall!! - can anyone please point me in the rig

Summary: Using Log4J from JRUN leads to ClassLoader conflict Steps to reproduce: I created a java class file that uses Log4J. I packaged it in a jar and put it in the directory "JRun4\servers\cfusion\cfusion-ear\cfusion-war\WEB-INF\lib". When I use the <CFOBJECT> tag to instantiate the class, I receive an error message: log4j:ERROR Could not instantiate appender named "adest". log4j:ERROR A "org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender" object is not assignable to a "org.apache.log4j.Appender" variable. log4j:ERROR The class "org.apache.log4j.Appender" was loaded by log4j:ERROR [sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader@53ba3d] whereas object of type log4j:ERROR "org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender" was loaded by [coldfusion.bootstrap.BootstrapClassLoader@4ca6b6]. The messages show up in the cfusion-err.log. My Appender is called adest, so I know it is finding the class and running it. Maybe someone who knows more about how ColdFusion and JRun classloaders work together can help me. I have check

I'll ask it quite simple: There is a triangle movie clip with vertices A (0, 0); B (256, 0); C (0, 256) Each vertex has some color (e.g., A - red, B - green, C - blue). I need to shade the entire area of this triangle by interpolating between these 3 colors. Something like a gradient, but it has 3 vertices, not 2 like a linear one. I tried two ways: 1) create a 256x256 BitmapData, attach it to my clip and shade the triangle in bitmap, manually (just like people were programming 3d graphics before opengl&direct3d). this works, but is very slow (of course). 2) create a 2x2 or 3x3 or some other lilttle square bitmap, shade it then scale it to 256x256 with smoothing option (attachBitmap's argument) enabled. this works quite fast and looks almost right but not quite right. I also thought on how to accomplish this with a gradient (maybe several gradients), but no ideas... You can check out my code at: http://heilong.oceanography.ru/flash/lab/
