Hi, Please help. I am creating a site that generated leads. and im stuck on the sending of the leads A broker registers and sets up a limit of how many leads they will recive i.e 1 per day or 3 per week. WHen a lead is generated it will select a broker from the database based on postcode and check if the qouter is correct. If a simalar lead is generated it will not pick the first broker as that one has already recived one it will go on to the next that has the maatching criteria. Any ideas on how this can be acheived Thanks Carly

This should be a pretty easy problem, but I can't seem to find the solution anywhere, probably because the search terms are too common. Anyway, why doesn't a dynamic text box inherit its transparency from its parent movie clip. For instance, if you put a dynamic text item on the stage, name it myText, then convert it to a movieclip called myClip, then set: myClip.myText.text = "hello world" myClip._alpha = 10 nothing happens to the alpha of the text itself. Even the setting the alpha of the text directly won't change anything, although setting its visible property works fine. Isn't there an easier way to accomplish this then messing with text formats? Is it just me, or shouldn't a text field operate just like a nested movieclip in this regard?

I'm using MX 7. Anyone notice this? The selected option that is generated look like this: <option value="somevalue" selected="selected"> As far as I know, this is not valid HTML. I noticed it because it doesn't work in Firefox 1.5 (works in IE 6 though) Should be: <option value="somevalue" selected> Right?

Hi all! I'm using the date field with a dynamic generated date. Look at the code: var today_date:Date = new Date(); begin.selectableRange = {rangeStart: today_date}; Well this is working fine, but the problem is that it's including the day of Today. Is there any way to tell it to start with yesterday instead? Thx in advance. mw

I've got a batch script that runs an ant script that executes "cvs log -h application.cfm" on the cvs server. When I execute the batch script manually on the command line, everything works fine. When I execute the batch script via CFEXECUTE, the batch works fine, the ant script works fine, but the cvs command doesn't appear to do anything. The results from the tag are: [echo] before [echo] after As you'll see from the attached ant script (unchanged except for the cvsroot attribute), those echos are either side of the cvs command. When running via the command line, I get the results from the cvs log command in between those lines, but with CF I get nothing. Any ideas at all on how to get this working will be greatly appreciated.

I have a movie clip that I am scrolling vertically in one direction (to keep it simple for this question) when you move your cursor over a button (movie clip that acts as a button. When you roll off it stops scrolling. Everything is working so far in the code etc. But what I need to know is what to insert in the code to stop the movie from scrolling at some point, even if you roll over, otherwise it will eventually scroll right off the screen. This is what I have so far. sphereButton.onrollOver = function() { this.onEnterFrame = function() { spinner._y += 10; }; }; sphereButton.onrollOut = sphereButton.onrollOutOutside=sphereButton.onDragOut=function () { delete this.onEnterFrame;}; Spinner is the name of the mc and sphereButton is the name of the button. Can someone show me what to insert into the code to make it stop at some point even when you rollover? Thanks for any help.

I've recently upgraded to OS X 10.4 and reinstalled my DMX 2004. It's been a little buggy, but fine overall. (I did upgrade to 7.0.1) Yesterday, I tried to install an extension, the WebPhotoAlbum226.mxp, and I kept getting the message: "This extension requires the following products: Dreamweaver MX or greater", and the installer refused to install the extension. I downloaded another extension and tried to install it also. Same message. Has anyone else had this happen? Thanks, Chuck Cruse puffer67@earthlink.net

Okay, I was working my way through the MX 2004 game development book, and then I had the opportunity to make a game to teach good foods from bad foods. So, I altered the whack a capsule game that was in the book pretty significantly, mostly using it as a jumping point. My problem is this: I have some of the tubes containing healthier foods, and others containing less healthy foods. when the player clicks on the good foods, the score goes up just fine, but when the player clicks on the bad foods, the score for the bad foods doesn't increment, it adds it into the score for the good foods. It does this even though they're supposed to look at different variables. I have had three people looking at it with me, and they can't figure out what's wrong, either, though they have suggested several things. This is the part of the code that is misbehaving (if you need the rest of it, or the fla, I can provide it):

How can you set the XML connector's URL to a variable? I have a variable called "thisURL" and an XML Connector called "myXMLConnector" Thanks much.

when prototyping an existing class, for example: Array.prototype.myMethod = function():Void{ //Perform some action here } for...each loops return the new method, for exmple, after the previous prototype has been declared: my_arr = new Array[1,2,3] for(i in my_arr){ trace(i) } should return '2,1,0' but instead returns 'myMethod,2,1,0' this means that it will now be impossible to loop through an array in this way without first knowing, and then accounting for any protoypes that have been declared. is there anything wrong with this prototype declaration that is causing this behavior? any help is much appreciated....

Hi all. We have a new client who has a Linux environment and I was just wondering what sort of output is best for this. Currently, we use a .chm to provide context sensitive help for our application but I believe that won't work for Linux people. Does that sound right? I realise that an alternative output will no longer be context sensitive but it would still be nice to give them access to the content. Any suggestions would (as always) be greatly appreciated. Regards

Inclusive dates of leave are # <input name="leavedate" size="30" maxlength="30" value="#variables.leavedate#">. The above value is stored in database named "testcolumn". when I fetch that value to print out using following codes <cfset variables.curValue = testqueryname.testcolumn> <cfoutput>#Evaluate(DE(variables.curValue))#</cfoutput> I got an error as below: ColdFusion was looking at the following text: < The CFML compiler was processing: < marks the beginning of a ColdFusion tag.Did you mean LT or LTE? an expression beginning with "\"", on line 1, column 1.This message is usually caused by a problem in the expressions structure. Can anyone help me what I did wrong? thanks

I'm working on a flash site, and am running into an actionscript issue that has me a bit stymied. The main .fla timeline is 42 frames long. Frames 1-23 are the preloader, each frame between frames 24-31 contain one of the sections of the site, then frames 36-42 contain subsections of one of the main sections. 32-35 are just blank frames to help me keep things visually separated while I'm working on this project. In frames 36-42 I have a sub-navigation for that subsection setup. For each of the buttons in that sub navigation, I've attached a very simple actionscript that links to the other subsection pages. I've used actionscript like I've shown below, where "web" in this case, is the name of the frame that I'm targeting: on (release) { gotoAndPlay("web"); } When I click on a link to take me to the final frame, which happens to be named "specevents" (special events), it takes me to that frame correctly. If I click the "specevents" button again while still in that frame, I'm taken ba

using hidden form field hi i am still kinda losst on what this concept is all about. can anyone explain to me (help ) on what this is for . how does the action page play a role in this? thanks

OK, I have a bit of code that is BOGGING down my app. I need some ideas for smoothing it out. Basically, I need to be able to reference an array by 3 elements (id, qstn_id, zone_id). In a query later, I sum up the data and assign it to the proper position in the array (ie zone1[6552][124747][16543] = 2). When you create an array, does it create all of the elements below the element I have created? For the example above, does CF have to create positions for 1-6551 for the first element, 1-124746 for the second, etc? Would it help any to reference the position in the original reference list rather than the actual IDs? Ex. instead of zone1[6552][124747][16543], it would be zone1[1][1][1]. I'm not married to the idea of the array. My other idea was to assign dynamic variables to the zones, but I don't think it would help. Any help/ideas will be appreciated.

I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. I have 2 CF Servers behind a Hardware Load balancer and the content is stored on a NAS device through a UNC share. Colfusion seems to access the files okay but every now and then I get a 404 error that will not go away until I restart the coldfusion services. I have already turned off caching and the problem still occurs.
