CS6 Master Collection - Some items for the following product(s) could not be installed

New Here ,
Jan 15, 2017 Jan 15, 2017

So yesterday my colleague gave me the CS6 Master Collection that we use at work so I can do some work related stuff at home.

Whenever I run the 'set-up.exe' the proces initialises and the installation starts. Though at the end it says: Some items for the following produc(s) could not be installed. Whenever I click on the logs it says not found. I have tried 3 times now, and it has taken hours of my time.

Things I've tried:

* Delete the mastercollection and re-install

* Delete the mastercollection via 'revo uninstaller' and delete all associated files and re-install

* Use AdobeCleanerTool, used the 'cs6 only' option to keep Acrobat, Flash player, Reader etc. and re-install

I added 2 pictures, very sorry that they're in Dutch but cannot get the installer in English.

Translation from top to bottom:

De installatie is voltooid en u kunt deze toepassingen gebruiken. Voor sommige componenten kunt u de computer het beste eerst opnieuw opstarten voor u de software gaat gebruiken.

Installation complete, you can now use the following products. Some product may require your pc to be rebooted before using them.

Sommige items voor de volgende producten zijn niet geïnstalleerd.

Some items for the following produc(s) could not be installed.

Mogelijk kunt u het probleem vaststellen via het bestand met het foutoverzicht. Neem voor verdere ondersteuning contact op met de klantenondersteuning als de problemen zich blijven voordoen.

I don't know what else I can try. I really need it for my work.

Hopefully someone can help me.

Thanks in advance,

Bart

Are you using a new machine/operating system?  Older software and newer operating systems are not cooperating very well.

My PC is 3 years old. Some specs:

Intel Core i7-3770 CPU 3.4GHz

12GB RAM

64 bit Windows 7

So don't think that's the issue unfortunately

Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... says Encore, but sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account)

I ran the 'Set-up.exe' as an administrator.

It eliminates half of the proces. We're down to only a few programs. Though the most important ones that I need..

See the image of the result I got now:

ADOBE4.png

The weird thing is, it does say installing Adobe After Effects and premiere etc.

See:

ADOBE3.png

Maybe After Effect and Premiere etc need even more permissions?

Pretty sure it's PC-related. I've had those 5 that haven't installed in my last post before. Uninstalled them though. Keep in mind I have used the AdobeCleanerTool for the cs6 only option so all files from AE, PR etc must be cleared right? Or may there still be some things that prevent another install? (I'm not that technical so don't have much clue where it could be and what it is)

Barts12566434 if you are continuing to face difficulties installing Creative Suite 6 then I would recommend reviewing the installation log files to determine the cause of the failure.  You can find complete details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files in Adobe Creative Suite (CS6, CS5.5, CS5), PS Elements, a... .

You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover in the log files to this discussion.

Thank you for this. Here's a pastebin link to the summary of my installation logs:

-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------- - Pastebin.com

Sorry there are some Dutch lines in there, it's because I have a Dutch system.

Here is the rough translation:

Error 32 Het proces heeft geen toegang tot het bestand omdat het door een ander proces wordt gebruikt..

Error 32 The proces is unable to acces the file because it's used by another proces..

I do not know how this can occur as I've ran the installer as an admin already.

I think I've changed the permissions to full permissions now for ProgramFiles and (x86) / Adobe.

Another thing I thought of, is it safe to rename the Adobe folder in the following directories?:

c:\Program Files\Adobe

c:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe

c:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe

c:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe

C:\Users\Bart\AppData\Roaming\Adobe

I'll try to re-install now.

Thanks for update Barts12566434.  If the installation continues to fail look at the log file to determine any additional files/folders that will need their permissions repaired.  Each time you install the install log is appended too.  This means that the most recent errors will be at the end of the file.

Well, we actually went downhill. Last time I had 5 programs not installed (look few messages above). This time 9 didn't install. Just went back to the logs like you said earlier. 9 of the same errors: DF024. Same thing like before except this time it's for even more programs which I find to be quite weird. Even though my folders have 'full acces' enabled in Properties -> Security.

Barts12566434 it could be that the current User account is unable to adjust the file permissions appropriately.  Solution 3 in the DF024 document, referenced in message #9, discussed creating a new local administrator account and then trying the installation.  I would recommend you proceed with this solution if the number of errors is not decreasing.

I made a new user and called it Test. Made it administrator aswell. I then ran the installer on that new account and it came out like this.

adobe.png

Still have 4 uninstalled. I checked the logs; again, DF024. Find it strange though how it's somewhat different programs than before.

Edit: Can I use the programs on my main user on my pc that I have installed on the test user?

Barts12566434 if you are continuing to face DF024 errors then you will want to look at what else could be causing file permission failures. Anti-virus software and system optimization programs can often cause unexpected behavior to occur.

Considering you are continuing to face errors under both accounts I do not know if the software will work under either account.  I am sorry Barts12566434 but you will need to look at your local system configuration to see what else is causing the installer to not be able to move files to the proper directories.
