My university course provided me with an adobe account but I had to use my student email to activate it. Now I am out of uni, I still want access to my cloud account and was planning on buying the programs to continue my use of Adobe.
The issue is my old student email got automatically deleted as soon as my course ended. I can still login to my Adobe account associated with that email (even if my email is now deleted) but when I go into account preferences and follow tutorials to change the account's email to my private one, there is no button option to change my email or even reactivate my plan.
I mainly want my old account simply so I can have access to my creative cloud storage and continue working on projects I had in Uni. Is there any way I can change the old email and swap it over to my own and pay for a new plan or do I have to make a new account and lose my old storage of work?

if that fails to help, use a browser that allows popups and cookies and contact adobe support by clicking here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human
p.s you can also use phone (but chat is usually quicker), https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html
p.p.s. you can also use twitter to tweet @AdobeCare
p.p.p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam, https://community.adobe.com/t5/using-the-community-discussions/staying-safe-in-the-adobe-support-com...

I rather suspect that part of the issue is that the school owned the license, not you. Customer support may be able to transfer the assets from that account to your personal one once you have it set up, assuming the assets still exist.

I agree with this and generally speaking, if it was an Enterprise account, the assets belong to the Enterprise, which is, for a school, nonsense. If it is an Enterprise account, @kglad's first link (https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/create-update-adobe-id.html) will not work.
