Change email address in CC app

On my Adobe account I have two email addresses primary and secondary. I want to delete the secondary and make that my primary. The delete bit works but I cannot change the primary address - it says email already in use.

Any ideas?

If the CSR refers you to the forums, insist on speaking with a supervisor and keep moving up the chain until you get someone who knows what they are talking about.
