Beware!!! I signed up for monthly payments to an annual subscription and Adobe tried to make me pay £100 after using the software for one month. No other software subscription does this . It's absolutely absurd. The first person I spoke to about this had exactly the same experience with Adobe. Sort this out - you can't rope people into a year's worth of monthly payments with just a couple of clicks. It costs Adobe absolutely nothing to cancel someone's subscription - nothing other than a scam!

did you cancel within the free trial period?

when you subscribed did you select the plan with the lower monthly cost (that has a one year obligation) instead of selecting the monthly plan that costs more per month but allows you to cancel at any time?

did you contact adobe support?

I did but it's the fact you do it in the first place - you can't threaten
people with arbitrary fines if they decide to cancel subscriptions early.
The only notice you give about an early cancellation fee is a little
asterisk at the bottom of the window displaying the plan - it doesn't even
specify the size of the fee. I didn't see it and I'm sure lots of other
people don't either. No other software subscription does this and you
shouldn't even be offering it - you can't rope people into contracts after
just a couple of clicks - there is no obligation to meet the monthly
payments each month. Not happy at all.

it's no different that leasing a subscription an apartment or car.  (except those are not able to be cancelled).

and it's clearly stated when you first click to select a product abd are offered the options to buy.

It's very different to an apartment or car, firstly because you sign written contracts, secondly because in those cases there is a cost to the seller for an early termination of contract (Adobe have no opportunity cost for the supply of their software) - it is also well established in the car and rental industry that you a make contractual agreements on an annual basis, this is not the case in software - so your analogy unfortunately is a poor one.

The penalty fee is not clearly stated - it is hidden as term and condition of the agreement  - you are given no warning message before typing your payment details in - you are certainly not told how much the penalty will be.

I have already spoken to a number of people who have been caught out by the same thing - they all reference Adobe as the only software company that has duped them in such a way.

You have no right to threaten people people with early cancellation fees of £100 when they have used your software for one month - you clearly don't if your company backs down as soon as someone kicks up a fuss. It's an absolutely disgrace and needs to be sorted out.

i have no standing to say anything about your account.  contact adobe yourself.

in fact, i  already asked you if you'd contacted adobe (+ 2 other questions), and you said yes.  i don't know to what you were saying yes, but presumably all three questions.

Nonsense. If it were " clearly stated", as you claim, then you wouldn't be getting these emails from people who were conned in the way I was. You are demanding continuing payment for a service your customer has cancelled -- money for nothing. In the case of an apartment or a car, there may well be a loss to the owner if they cannot find a customer to take over that apartment or car immediately; in addition, the owner may have to incur costs due to wear and tear on the leased property. None of this applies to Adobe plans. Don't youi make enough money from your actual products? What do your shareholders have to say about conning people as a business model?
