Question

Removing saved credit card details

I recently found out that my credit card details are saved with Adobe, without my permission. I had purchased adobe Photoshop.

I am currently subscribed to an annual plan and will not be renewing the license, so saving the card doesn't make sense.

Please let me know , how can I do it.

Hi everyone,

We understand your concern; however, the option to delete the saved card details is unavailable.

Our team is aware of this and is working to resolve this. We need time before introducing this or a similar option for our users. Until then, we assure you that your saved card details are safe in your Adobe account.

Hope this helps!

Thanks

Kanika

I ran into the same problem but I HAVE A REAL SOLUTION.

There is still no way to delete the card information from your own account end. However, I chatted with an Adobe rep and I was very friendly and specific about what I wanted: "I have successfully dadded a new card ending in XXXX and now I would like to remove the old card which ends in YYYY. Can you please remove that card for me."

It took them 5 minutes and they said it was done. I confirmed and it was gone.

I just changed the date to an invalid date so that they can't use it

Wrong, this does not work. It works for others but not this POS company. They will run the card when you click save and if it does not go through you will NOT be able to save the card or move past that screen. If you close the box, the original card is still there and they will still continue on with their shady criminal enterprise.

Today Adobe rep responded to my request to remove my credit card information, his reply:

"I have successfully raised a request to delete the payment details."

I will of course check later to confirm. Still, I am left with a negative impression of Adobe.

CHAT also hung up on me and refused to remove my cards or speak to me.

One small remark: the last chat I had with an Adobe staff employee, I first said hello.

CONTACT CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND REPORT ILLEGAL TAKING OF YOUR CREDIT CARD BY ADOBE.   I HAVE OT DO THE SAME THING.  Adobe loses its right to use of your credit card.

I didn't remove my credit card from the account, but now that I have a prepaid subscription, and I do not have need for the Photography plan anymore, the credit card information formerly stored with Adobe are no more available on the Adobe site.

If there is a credit card that you used previously but no longer do, then you may be able to submit a request to Adobe to ask (or confirm) that it be removed.

ProDesignTools Firstly that link logs me out. Secondly do I need to read between the lines of your post? i.e you said "may" does this mean possibly not? and "used previously but no longer do" does this mean expired?

I dont want to spend another half an hour of my time looking for a hidden link that will not answer my question.

It means that if you have a card on file that is inactive (i.e., not being used for any current/active subscription), then you should be able to confirm that it's removed from your account or you can submit a request to Adobe for same, via that page.

Haven't tried this personally, but under GDPR which came into effect last month, companies now need to have a way to allow customers (esp. in EU) to delete personal information.

I agree. Adobe are ruthless with their techniques for keeping customers and taking their money.

They should be more ruthless with their software actually working and getting rid of the many and growing number of shortcomings. I'd happily keep paying if I liked their software enough but alas I do not.

Chances are that somewhere in the agreement you accepted when you took the subscription you also agreed to allow them the use of your credit card information.  My guess is that you won't be able to change any of it without contacting support since they need some means of being able to charge you should you decide to drop the plan early.

Thanks for the info.

But the customercare said they cannot remove the card. I have finished paying for an annual plan already. Then why keep the details.

Hi,

Your credit card information is absolutely safe with Adobe, however, there is no option to remove your credit card details.

You can anytime update your payment method but not remove it.

Thanks

Kanika
