Adobe Acrobat, Edit PDF, Auto Changes Causing Issues

Greetings,

I need help with Adobe Acrobat, Edit PDF.

I use Version 2024.002.20736

I have included the following evidence files:

AdobeAcrobatEditPDFIssue1autoRepeatOfText.png

AdobeAcrobatEditPDFIssue2autoMovementOfText.png

AdobeAcrobatEditPDFIssue3autoDeletionofTextAndRepeatOfText.png

I am editing text in a pdf (near the footer region of the file, but not actually the footer) using “Edit PDF” and have encountered issues.

The issues I have encountered include: Auto changing of text in similar locations across different pages in the document; addition of apparently repetitive text; deletion of unrelated text; movement of text; and relegation of text to be non-editable.  I wait 10-30 minutes and sometimes additional changes are made.  I closed the pdf file last night having saved the latest changes and there were new changes this morning.

  1. Can you explain what is going on and why?
  2. How can I stop the automatic changes?
  3. How can I edit the text the automation makes un-editable?

Thanks,

KZ

Hi @Kerry36753132sged

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20857 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082 and see if that works.
