Question

Black screen when trying to add signature

There have been several discussions about this issue over the last several years. A variety of solutions have been provided, and some of them work for some people. Unfortunately, none have worked for me. Here is a complete list of everything I have done:

I’m still getting a black screen with a white dot in the center when I try to sign a document. I’m running macOS Big Sur 11.6, but this has been a persistent issue for a while. I am just one of a number of people still having this issue. If this describes you, then leave a note here. Let’s pressure Adobe to acknowledge that there is a legitimate software issue that needs to be addressed by their development team!

Thank you,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for reaching out and sorry for the trouble.

Could you please confirm if the issue started occurring recently? Please share the the Acrobat and OS version currently in use.

Also, confirm if the issue occurs with any PDF on which you try to add signature or with some particular PDFs.

Share the screenshot of the screen you receive.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Jeff,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Did you try once removing the application completely from the machine and reinstalling it?

If not, please remove the application and reboot the Mac.

Then reinstall the application from this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/download-install-acrobat-subscription.html.

Check if that makes any difference.

If the issue persists, we will need logs for further investigation.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
