Hello! I am working on a document that other users have commented on. After I am finished, I want to delete their comments and only keep mine, however the "delete" option is greyed out on some (but not all?) of their comments, and none of the comments are "locked." So instead, I tried to export just my comments to a new file, but it is exporting all of the comments (even though I am using a filter and "export selected comments"). What I have found so far that works is if I hand-select my comments one-by-one in groups of 20ish and export those, but I have over 100 comments per document so this is tedious. If possible, I would like to get the PDF to have just my comments without running a script because, frankly, I just don't want to learn how to do that, but if I must, I must. Thank you!

Hi @Elissa28953005b9ek
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that
Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.
What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.01.2006x installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.
Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...
You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.
Also, please go through the correct answer shared in the similar post https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/can-i-delete-all-comments-on-a-pdf-with-one-click... and see if that works for you.
Regards
Amal

Hi Abdul! Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately, none of these solutions worked.
1.) I have tried with 3 separate PDFs and the issue persists. The PDFs are downloaded to my computer and I am working on the desktop application Adobe Pro.
2.) I just updated and this is the version I have now, it did not work.
3. I reset the preferences as described and that did not work.
4. "create a new test user profile with full admin rights" I don't know what this means but I only have 1 license issued from the company I work for so maybe I can't do this?
5. Yes I know how to select all, the issue is that when I try to "delete" the "delete" is greyed out and they can not be deleted. I do not want to delete all comments, just all comments that are not my own.
6. A new wrinkle: I tried to delete the other editor's comments from a file that I did not comment in -- and it worked! Then I made 2 comments, and I tried to delete the other editor's comments and I could not (they were greyed out as above).
What other options do I have? Thank you!
Elissa

Had the same problem .. Ended up using the Sumatra PDF to delete them. Not too mention, Sumatra is faster, crashes less and open's files quicker. Maybe some developers from Adobe should use Sumatra to see how you can write an app that reads pdfs that doesn't crash, is faster and more user friendly.. An opensource app is coded better than the app from the company who wrote the pdf spec. How does that work!
