Pro 2020 and Windows 11

New Here ,
Apr 04, 2023 Apr 04, 2023

I just bought a new Dell Laptop and installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 as I do a lot of work in remote locations without internet service. I am connected to the internet on an almost daily basis but once I go out in the field and try to open a PDF with no connection, it freezes and shows not responding. The whole reason behind buying the Pro 2020 edition is so that I would not have to have internet to check in as I have a perpetual license. Is there something I am missing? The program works perfectly when I am connected to the internet.

Hi @Chad Stall

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Acrobat 2020.

Firstly, could you please let me know if this issue is specific to a particular PDF file, or are you having trouble launching the application in general? If it's the former, please try opening a different PDF file and see if the issue persists.

It's also important to ensure that you're using the latest version of Acrobat DC, which is version 20.05.30441. To check this, please go to Help > About Acrobat. If you're not on the latest version, please go to Help > Check for updates and install any available updates. After doing so, please reboot your computer.

If the problem still persists, you may want to try resetting Acrobat preferences to default settings. You can do this by following the steps outlined in this link: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau....

If none of the above steps work, it may be helpful to create a new test user profile with full admin rights, or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there.

Amal
