Please explain why I'm not able to download the 64-bit Enterprise version of the English US version of Adobe Acrobat Reader? As contractors, this perception makes us look bad as though we are not competent enough to be using the 64-bit versions to deploy as an Intune packages when the users can download the perceived better 64-bit online installers themselves. All operating systems are now 64-bit. Why would a vendor not make the 64-bit version available? Note, we don't want to install the MUI version, just the 64-bit US English version.... Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer this question that is affecting so many IT Professionals.
Hi @Kurt_,
Currently, the only available version for 64-bit is the MUI version. I have raised this request with the engineering team from my side.
However, I would suggest you fill out the feature request form: https://acrobat.uservoice.com/ so it reaches directly to the engineering team for future implementations.

Hi @Kurt_,
Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat Reader installation.
When I go to https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/, I can select the option to download the 64-bit version of the installer (screenshot attached).
Once downloaded, you can follow the steps mentioned here to deploy the set up on all the machines: Deploy Adobe packages using Microsoft Intune
Hope this helps.

What's the difference between enterprise reader and normal reader?

@Binoy22462746ggwa Normal reader is a single standalone version of the application, while the enterprise edition can be used to deploy to many devices.

Hello Souvik,
Even though it has ...64 at the end of the file name it installs as a 32-bit program in Windows 11.
The up left of the program reads "Adobe Acrobat Reader (32-bit)" see print screen below...
It installs into the 32 bit part of the file system and registry:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroRd32.exe"
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Adobe
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{AC76BA86-7AD7-1033-7B44-AC0F074E4100}
DisplayName: Adobe Acrobat Reader
DisplayVersion: 23.001.20064
Please esculatg and update the installer to a 64-bit progam.
Thank you in advance, and best regards, Kurt

Hi @Kurt_,
Would you mind sharing the installer package that you are using for deployment?
You can upload the file to https://assets.adobe.com/files, generate a shareable link, and paste it here.
This would help us debug the issue better.
Look forward to hearing from you.
-Souvik.

Hi @Kurt_,
The installer that you have downloaded is the 32-bit installer. Please try and select the 64-bit version on the same website for the desired results.

Yes, that is the problem, lol... Unfortunately, as demonstrated by your 1st first print screen, the 32-bit installer for the English version of Acrobat Reader is the only one available to choose from. There is no option for a 64-bit installer for the English version of Acrobat Reader 😞
Can you please make that available?
We do not want to use MUI.
Our users can go out and install the 64-bit English version or Acrobat Reader, but I can not download the 64-bit Enterprise English version of the installer and make an Intune package for them 😞
*Do you understand my dilemma?
*Can you please make the 64-bit Enterprise installer available for the English version of Adobe Reader? It should be very easy to do...

@Kurt_ This is designed behavior.
The language versions are designed for 32-bit, while the MUI version is made for 64-bit.
Our engineering team would like to know why you are reluctant to use the MUI version so we can get to a proper resolution.

Please Escalate and schedule a meeting with your Engineering Team Manager and me.
Agenda shall include the following:
*Nothing should be 32-bit anymore for modern operating systems.
*My Users can download & install the 64-bit version of Adobe Acrobat Reader en-US, but I can only deploy the 32-bit version of en-US with Intune. This looks bad. Business 101 is Perception is Reality.
*We don't want MUI. Our Users have mostly already installed the localized version of 64-bit en-US, and we will have two versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on one device; MUI and en-US, if I have to push MUI with Intune. We do not need any other languages.
*If our users can download the 64-bit version of en-US, then why can't I download the 64-bit en-US Enterprise version for deployment with Intune???
*Many posts from other admins like myself ask Adobe the same question, and there will continue to be many more... Why is Adobe reluctant to do the right thing for its customers? So they don't get any more questions like mine? Good vendors always listen to the requests of their customers, Customer Service 101 😉
May I humbly suggest that Adobe needs to do the right thing for its customers...
Please schedule the meeting as requested above.
Warm regards, Kurt.
