Scroll bar disappears on update to v23

What a headache—especially for designers working with PDFs all day! Scroll bar appears for a second when the PDF is re-sized, then disappear immediately, never to return. This is a major issue. None of the suggestions in other threads solve the problem—scrolling is enable, touch mode is on never, not hiding menu, toolbars etc.  Issue is on a desktop computer MacOS.

Hi sherler79814686,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

Please refer to the information about the Acrobat Scroll Framework upgrades for macOS in the following post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-scroll-framework-upgrades-for-macos/td-p/...

We acknowledge that the new Acrobat represents a notable change. However, we hope that as you get familiar with the new interface, you can be more productive & get more out of Acrobat. To learn more about the new Acrobat, you may refer to the following featured post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/learn-about-new-acrobat/td-p/14078856.

As we made these changes in the interface, we have tried to ensure all tools & features that are currently supported retain their familiar functionalities and workflows as they did in the previous version. We are committed to addressing any gaps or issues reported by users related to any break in current workflows in all our past & upcoming releases. In case any of your current workflows are not functioning as expected, do share them with us on this thread, and we will address them with the highest priority.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

I am using Acrobat for Mac version 2024.001.20604 and the missing scroll bars is STILL an issue. I have to do some text unerlay for musical scores and not having smooth scrolling text is more than inconvenient. FIX THIS, ADOBE!!!

Use the up and down arrows on your keyboard to scroll.

Why?

My suggestion avoids the need for a scroll bar and works much better than using the up and down arrows provided by Adobe.

I agree. I wish software changes would take users into account. Some of us are trying to earn a living using it!

Wacom users: put cursor in/above page or remarks column and scroll with your touch scroll wheel on your Wacom. That did it for me.

Mine keep dissapering too...This is one of the worst updates ever. I've had to re-download a previous version.  Another 'fail' from Adobe....

Why is this post labelled as "Solved"? This issue has not been addressed at all.

I believe you are correct. Try the suggestion I have proposed, namely using the up and down arrows on your keyboard.

You are missing the point. If you are working with a Wacom tablet and marking up a PDF with the pen, it is highly inconvenient and frustrating to put the pen aside to use arrow keys to navigate. It slows the work down considerably, and is an awkward manoeuvre.

This upgrade assumes we are using a mouse. I am using Wacom pen tablet and will not accept that I supposed to adjust to a navigation experience that does not allow me to use a Wacom pen. I have to put down the pen to activate the scroll bar using my trackpad. How can that be forced on us?

agreed!  Adobe is horrible, they couldn't care less about their defective, bugged inferior products that they force on users....as long as some computer programmer is able to add some ridiculous, unimportant new widget or tweak to their software, all is good in Silicon Valley......shame on Adobe!
