SharePoint Windows Explorer – Problem opening PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Hello,

Some of our users (and me) get this error message, when opening pdf files from windows explorer in SharePoint (important only in windows explorer! In the browser it works).

This is appears to be the similar issue like here:

But the path is for sure shorter than 260 letters (even shorter than 50 in some tests) and we are running the newest Reader DC Version.

Additionally the error occurs with SharePoint 2016 and our soon new SharePoint Subscription Edition test environment.

It looks like newly uploaded pdf files are working, without issue.

Strangely also for some users it works all the time without issue.

Is this maybe a known issue?
