Adobe not listed as available app to open file on samsung phone

New Here ,
Nov 02, 2024 Nov 02, 2024

Just stopped working, no changes to device. When trying to open downloaded file (ANY type) Adobe is not listed as an available app. (Google wallet, however, is.)

"You don't have any apps that can open this type of file." Except that I pay for Adobe premium 🙄🙄🙄

I've tried all of the 'unplugging and plugging back in' and it won't work. WHY?

Hi there

Hope you’re doing well and thanks for reaching out.

To help you better, we need a bit more information:

1. What type of file are you trying to open? Adobe Acrobat is used for PDF files, so please make sure your file is in .pdf format.

2. Is the Acrobat Reader mobile app installed on your device and set as the default app for PDFs? If not, please install the app from the Samsung store and set it as the default app using the steps below:

  • Go to Settings > Apps.
  • Find the app currently set as the default for opening files and clear its defaults.
  • Try opening the file again and set Adobe Acrobat as the default app.

Please try these steps and let us know how it goes

Hi @LaHunter,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble.

Would you mind going to your phone's settings-> Apps-> search for Acrobat-> scroll down and select "Select as default"

Once clicked, you will be able to make other choices in the next screen.

Once done, the PDF files will open in Acrobat Reader from the next instance you try to open it.

Hope this helps.
