Adobe reader in android won't sync with OneDrive

Hi

I have Adobe Reader 24.7 and I have it connected to my One Drive account.

Up to a few weeks ago I could read and edit pdf files from my One Drive and, after closing the document,it would upload the modifications to the cloud.

But lately, it does not happen at all.

It is not related to file size, internet connection... I have updated both apps and didn't solve. Rebooted and also cleared cache and uninstalled and reinstalled... But nothing seems to work.

How can this be corrected?

Correct answer Amal.

Hi there,

Hope you're all doing well.

This issue has been fixed in the latest June update of the Acrobat Android app. Please go to the Play Store, update the app to the latest version, then restart your device and check if the issue is gone.

If you still face any problems or need more help, just let us know,  we're happy to help!

Bhai ye error tab aata hai jab Adobe ka filter tag mein kuch bhi extra smell karta hai. Ab ye version maine bilkul stripped-down rakha hai – sirf allowed attributes, double quotes, aur kuch nahi:

Hey @André38990753swgv, Same exact issue hit me a few months ago on my Samsung – edits wouldn’t sync back to OneDrive no matter what I tried (cache clear, reinstall, everything).

What actually fixed it 100% for me was rooting the phone and giving Acrobat proper system-level file access. I used this one-click rooting method  and literally two minutes later the sync was working perfectly again. Edits upload instantly now, no more waiting or errors.

If you don’t want to root, the next best thing that worked as a temporary fix: Settings → Apps → Acrobat → Storage → Clear storage (full reset), then force-stop OneDrive, restart phone, and re-link the account. Got most people going again until they rooted.

Hope it saves you the headache it caused me! Let us know if it works.

I didn't try the rooting option, but back then I tried the other method you suggested, including full reseting both apps and re-syncing, but it didn't work as well.
I will try next week to update the app, as it seem that in july a release apparently had fixed the issue. I will let you know of the outcome

Hello, if the file was shared to your One Drive account and you weren't given permission to edit, any changes you do on Adobe android will not save to one-drive, rather it will save to the local drive of your device. You can ask whoever shared the file to you to give you permision to edit.

Hello,

but it is my personal Onedrive Account - with the same Email address as my Adobe Account. I don't see how I can give more permissions.

Is there any news regarding this? Is adobe actually working on this?

In the last months I have stopped relying on Adobe to read and mark my pdfs. Instead I am using OneDrive's PDF reader. Despite being slower, doesn't glitch and I don't risk losing my work

Agree, as a creative cloud subscriber I am not happy. Makes Acrobat unless for me when traveling.

The problem I think stems from Acrobat forcing the PDF up to Adobe's cloud. I do not want a file from One Drive going to Creative cloud. Thus all edits are kept in Creative Cloud and thus not sync'd back to One Drive. At least I saved edits on one PDF finding it in my creative cloud. Adobe should not be forcing the PDF to creative cloud unless I request it.

Same issue, I lost all updates to two PDFs. It is now over 6 months and this is now not resolved?  Any updates?

Same problem for me too.  Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ running Android 14 and Acrobat 25.1.0.370.36.

This seems to be a pretty widespread bug.  Any updates?

Hello,

we have the same issue. Our users connected the Onedrive in the Adobe android App, once the make changes, the file isn't saved on the Onedrive, but in the Documents folder on the local device. How can this be resolved?
