Can’t open password protected documents in iPhone or ipad

i had subscribed to some news later that is password protected when it sent to me,I’m not sure how they created it but when I try to open it either with safari,google chrome ,acrobat reader for iOS ,or other pdf reader,it just report that the format is not supported on this device,can someone help
