Used to be able to open PDFs on my android phone, but now when I try it brings up the page to sign up for premium, and I can't find a way to close that page and still open the file. Recently when I installed another app or seemed to mess up my permissions but I think I added back what should be enabled to get acrobat to work. Then I Uninstalled and reinstalled but it still doesn't work.

I have recently experienced the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy A52s. I am offered up to 3 apps to read pdf files - none of which are appropriate. To amend these I am directed to Settings - apps - change default apps but Adobe Acrobat does not appear as an option. I don't understand what the issue is or how to solve it so if anyone can help, I will be exceedingly grateful!

Hi @positive_art8934

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

What happens when you tap on the cross icon in the top right corner of the page? Do you get any error message, how the application behaves? A small video recording of the same would be very helpful for more clarity.

Also try to clear the cache of the application and reboot the device once and see if that works.  Go to Phone settings > Apps > Acrobat Reader > Storage > Clear Cache.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Amal,Thanks for responding.Since I can't access the app I can't see a 'cross icon' or show you how it behaves. I usually need to see/read pdf files that have been sent to me from companies providing quotations, instruction manuals I've downloaded, forms to complete, friends sharing items via Messenger such as the one I've screenshot and attached to this message, which in this case is a knitting pattern. As you'll see, there are only 2 apps on offer to open the file. I tried deleting the 3rd, Huewai Health, in case there was a maximum number that could be offered, but it made no difference.I had tried, repeatedly, to search the phone settings, app settings and Adobe Acrobat settings for a clue to allow me to use it by default. To no avail.Since reading your message I have:a) emptied the Adobe Acrobat cacheb) transferred Adobe Acrobat totally to my SD cardc) re-booted my phoned) tried opening the file - still no joy.I tried opening Adobe Acrobat app - and was immediately offered the option of making it my default pdf reader!Despite this, I still can't open pdf files received via Messenger as only Colornote and HTML viewer are offered. Any other ideas please? Thanks.
