You do know that there is more than one Android app?

Please post the exact name of the Adobe program you use so a Moderator may move this message to that forum

No, I did not know. Please forgive my unintended ignorance. Adobe Acrobat is the app name: version 21.4.1.17706

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and sorry for the delay in response.

As you receive the request to use liquid mode in the Android app, could you please share the screenshot of the request you are referring to?

Please also share the make and model of the device. Check if there is any pending update for the application.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

It does not seem possible that you have no clue of what default9bj0j87y7vyl is talking about! How come I know exactly what that person is talking about and I am not an Adobe employee???

Anyway, I also get that annoying prompt on both the plain Android Acrobat and the Samsung version.

Hi Philippe,

Sorry for the delay in response.

We just need to confirm the message that appears. We have tried to replicate it and it works fine at our end. It will be helpful if you can share the screenshot so we can further share that information with the team and get this checked.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi, I had given up hope of any help. Here is a screen shot of the message that I get every time I open a pdf on my Samsung a31. Good luck with working out what I can do.

Regards Mark

For now, if you tap on the icon to the right of the Liquid Mode icon, it will provide you with a few other options to change the reading mode to something else.

I would suggest that after you change the reading mode, then use the "Save a copy" option to retain this preference the next time you open the copy.

Unless you save a copy of the source document with a desired viewing preference other than Liquid Mode, it seems like when you set a document with a particular reading mode, it will remember that last reading mode preference by default.

The same seems to be true in the full desktop version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC :

  •  "Page Display" preference (shown below just to illustrate the similarities).

In addition, you should also disable the "Push notifications" service for that app.

See slides below:

  • In the apps settings section, tap on "Notifications"

  • In the next screen, tap on the "Allow Notifications" toggle button once to disable messages pushed to the user by this app.

  • Slide below shows this preference disabled

This is a workaround.

It requires to save a copy and it doesn't work for new documents.

I think you should be kind and say that it is intended behavior and there's no way to block this annoying message.

Instead of keeping silent for a year.

Hello,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. As of now, this is how the application is designed to behave. Enabling liquid mode and then disabling it on one document will stop the prompt from coming up again on the same file.

However, I would suggest you to kindly fill the feature request form so that it goes directly to our product team for them to look into it and implement it in the future updates: Share your feedback on Acrobat DC (uservoice.com)

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Souvik.

Hi, thanks. I tried to fill in the request your link sent me to but it wouldn't let me input anything. It sent me to someone else's request for the same thing and it's not worth me struggling through some system when it's been an issue for others, and for some time. I doubt that your mob give a toss.

@Paladin67

For the instance, you can disable the application to switch the document directly to the liquid mode by:

1. Settings --> Preferences
2. Turn Off the "Convert to Liquid Mode automatically" toggle.

To have the option to completely disable the liquid mode and its prompts, our team is working on it. It will be implemented on to the application in the upcoming updates.

Are you joking? That option does not exist. There is no such option in the preferences section of the settings. What app are you talking about?

Please share the version number of the Acrobat Reader mobile application you are using?

You can check the version number by clicking on your profile icon-> Adobe Acrobat Reader Mobile.

It looks like you are using an older version of the application, due to which you are not getting the option to disable Liquid Mode.

It's been kept up to date regularly so I believe that it is the latest non-beta version. That is what Play Store says.

Hi S.S.,

Any update on your team working on disabling the prompt? It is quite frustrating how every time I open a new pdf document I have to close the liquid mode window before I can fully see the pdf I'm trying to read. This is clearly something which is annoying a lot of users and has me ready to go searching for another application that will suit my needs. Also please consider this an official feature request. I don't think customers should have to jump through hoops just to request something (only to have it seemingly ignored by Adobe) like Paladin67 had to do.

Kind regards,

I

++Adding to this thread,

If I am not incorrect, Adobe have acknowledge the issue and they are currently working on it.

The request to disable the Liquid Mode prompt should be reflected in future updates of the app.
