Email attachments wont download

I am not able to open an attachment from my email on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 cell phone.  It goes to the attachment and says downloading but stays at 0%.  I also see a blue bar that scrolls from left to right but the app does nothing more.  I first noticed the problem with the email I received on 6/11.  I have had no trouble previous to this.  I am able to download the attachment from my Samsung tablet without trouble using the same email program.  This leads me to believe the trouble is specific to the app for my phone.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app which didn't fix my problem.  Please help!  Thank you.

Hi Joan,

Could you please let us know if this is the case with some particular PDF attachment?

Did you check if you can download other PDFs on your device?

When you open an email with an attachment, it shows the download icon to download the file.

If you are not able to download the PDF, then it does not seems to be an Adobe issue.

Please check and let us know.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Just for your information I was able to get my problem resolved by doing a

factory reset on my phone. Thank you for your help.

Hi Pepper,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As you have mentioned above, you are not able to open the PDF attachment in the email directly in the application. Am I correct?

Try once to reboot the device.

Clear the cache of the application.

Also, check if Adobe Acrobat Reader is set as the default application to open the PDF on your mobile device.

If you can download the attachment on your mobile device, go to Download manager on your device and try to open the file from there.

Check if the files open in the application or not.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Hi,

Thank you for your response to my problem in opening pdf attachments with

Adobe Acrobat Reader from my email application. Yes you are correct that

this is the issue.

I have rebooted the device and cleared the cache of the Adobe Acrobat

Reader as well as my email application as you have suggested even though I

have done this previously. It has not cleared my issue.

I do not see anywhere that I have the ability to set Adobe Acrobat Reader

as the default application to open the PDF. I have compared the settings

of Adobe Acrobat Reader between my phone and tablet and the only difference

I see is that the settings on my phone show none set as default and the

tablet shows the app is set to open by default for some actions. If there

is a way to change this on my phone I have no idea how to do it.

I am still not able to download the PDF therefore I cannot open it in

Download Manager.

Any further assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Joan
