Google pixel 3 won't open pdfs

My Google pixel 3 will no longer open pdfs or sites that contain them.  It used to do this automatically.  I installed Adobe pdf reader, but my phone still won't open them.  When I touch a site that contains a PDF, it seems to like it begins to open but then nothing happens.  Help🙁

Hello Sylvia,

I hope you are doing well. I am sorry for the trouble.

This issue could be due to a conflict between the applications for being a default PDF reader. Please follow the below steps once:

1. Go to Settings > Apps > Select the default open with app > Clear defaults.

2. Once done, try to open any PDF file saved on your phone; it should show you the pop-up to select the default PDF application, select Acrobat Reader Mobile.

3. From next time onwards, you should not face any issues with opening PDF.

Let me know if this works.

Thanks,

Souvik.

Hello Souvik, Thanks for your reply!  I wasn't quite able to figure out how to do what you suggested.  Some other things weren't working too well on my phone, so I went ahead and did a factory reset.  After reloading my apps, contacts, etc, my phone is now opening PDFs just fine.  Thanks again for your help and have a great day!  Sylvia
