Highlights are not saved in original file

Device - Oneplus Pad Tablet

My file name is bhanu.pdf

I open this pdf from a folder from my files app. It opens in adobe reader and when i highlight any sentence, it automatically saves the file as bhanu(1).pdf and gets saved in downloads folder.

The changes to original file are not saved in original file and folder.

    Found one thing.. This might be because of bug..

    The file is read only in OnePlus File Manager.

    Check from Google files, it's working properly on that.

    Issue would be coz of new update from OnePlus

    Hope you are doing well. Thank you for writing in!

     

    We tried the workflow inhouse, and this is designed behavior for the same reason you mentioned. 

    The issue is not reproducible on Samsung devices as the file manager allows editing of files.

     

    Have you tried opening the same file directly from Reader Mobile and then try making the changes instead of the Files app?
