First and foremost I don't know what I am doing... My issue is I'm trying to download a manual from a website and it's not downloading. It says I might need Adobe to be able to download it or read it. I downloaded Adobe and when I go back to and click on download manual nothing happens. I called the business and they were no help whatsoever. Am I doing something wrong? I have an IPad that I'm using. I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. Thank you for your time.

What Adobe program did you install?

What type of file is the manual? If PDF, you need Adobe Reader.

I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Acrobat Reader forum .

How do I post a link to the manual? I am ignorant when it comes to computers.  I'm  sorry. It bothers me that I am not knowledgeable  about computers.

We may not need the link, as it is the same for all PDFs that you download from the web, but the link is the URL with the web address in the top bar of your browser. On an iPad, tap it, then Copy, then come here and Paste.

Try the instructions below first though.

Hi @Jennifer28761570z2od,

As correctly shared by Jane, adding a screen recording to better understand how you can open the file in Acrobat Reader Mobile.

The screen recording is of an iPhone instead of an iPad, but the workflow will be the same.

Hope this helps.

-Souvik.

I am moving your post a second time since you are using Acrobat for Mobile on your iPad, not desktop.

To download the PDF into Acrobat for Mobile on your iPad:

  • First, confirm that you have installed the free Acrobat Acrobat Reader from the App Store.
Do not get the Premium version (paid); get the free version.
  • Navigate to the PDF in your browser (Safari)
  • Click the Upload button in the upper right
  • Scroll down and choose Import to Acrobat
  • A second window pops up on the left — choose Import to Acrobat again
  • The PDF will open in Acrobat on your iPad

You said you downloaded "Adobe", but I have an entire screen of Adobe apps on my iPad. Adobe is a company. Make sure you downloaded the Free Adobe Acrobat Reader. You do not need the paid Premium version to read PDFs.
