Impossible to open pdf files in POCO3

I have a POCO 3 mobile phone and I can't open pdf files with Adobe acrobat (although I've given the program all the permissions) . I am not given the option to use Adobe to open the file. Instead, I can choose another programs as moon reader, Dropbox, etc. It seems it's a general problem with these mobiles using Miui. Is there anything I can do to fix it?. I've got the latest Adobe acrobat version.

Sorry for the trouble.

Are you referring to not seeing Acrobat Reader Mobile on the open menu list, or are you not able to open PDF files with the application?

Please check to open a PDF from within the application. 

Also, a screenshot or recording of the event would be great for further investigation.

Hello, I mean I'm not able to open pdf files with the app (for example, I can't open a pdf file received on WhatsApp).

If I open the app and look for the file in the device I can, but that's not practical.

Hi @Ana26180717qfkh,

When you try to open the file, do you get the option to choose your default application to open PDF or it opens up on the system PDF viewer? 

You might want to clear all defaults from your device first then from the settings app and it would give you the application picker menu to choose from.

If Acrobat does not show up on the favorites list, you can click the option saying more and then select Acrobat Reader there.

The option would be to download the file and Acrobat recognizes the file for you on the Files tab to open from the list.

I get the option to choose my default application to open the PDF, but Acrobat is not there, as I show in the previous attach. Also if I click in the option "more", the phone randomly opens apps that can open PDF files as Drive, Acrobat, Mi Browser or Mi PDF Viewer.

I didn't notice that before, now I think it's a Xiaomi bug.

Also @Ana26180717qfkh  might have the same problem, because POCO uses same OS as Xiaomi.

Hi @Ana26180717qfkh @Luisfy, if the application does not show up on the picker list, that has to be done with the Android interface, as Adobe cannot interfere with the design behavior of the Operating System UI.

Before, when pressing "More" (the 3 dots), it was taking me to the OneDrive application, without giving the options that it gives now (which include Adobe Reader)

Just a tip: You can click the radio box saying "Remember my choice" to help your device keep Acrobat Reader Mobile as the default for PDF viewing.
