Masked images not displayed properly on Android Acrobat Reader

PDFs containing masked images display fine on desktop (PC, Mac), but the images are not displayed properly on the Android version of Adobe reader.

 

For example see the images on both pages in the attached document. They should be masked with a feathered texture edge, but on Android the full image is displayed and the mask does not appear to have any effect.
