Remove AI Assistant Button

Explorer ,
May 13, 2024 May 13, 2024

As an Adobe emloyee marked there answer as the correct in another post, when was it was clearly pointed out that their answer doesn't work, I have reacreated another post for everyone to vent their frustration at the AI assistant button in the new Acrobat.

Link to the old post: Re: remove AI assistant button

.... and no, we don't want to change the UI back to the old one to remove it. We just want the setting in the options to turn it off to actualy work!

Hi there

I hope you're doing well, and thank you for reaching out to us.

To address your concern, please follow the steps below to disable the generative AI features in the Acrobat Mobile App:

  1. Update the App: Please ensure you're using the latest version of the Acrobat app by updating it through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

  2. Reboot the Device: After updating, restart your device to ensure all changes are properly applied.

  3. Access Preferences in the Acrobat App:

    • Open the Acrobat app.
    • Tap on your profile icon, located at the top right of the screen.
    • From the drop-down menu, select Preferences.
  4. Disable Generative AI Features:

    • In the Preferences menu, locate the option for "Enable generative AI features in Acrobat."
    • Toggle off the switch to disable this feature.

Once you’ve completed these steps, please verify if the issue persists.

If you need any further assistance or encounter any difficulties, feel free to contact us. We’ll be happy to help.

Hello Amal

Thank you for your reply, as others have said this solution does not work for most people.

The AI solution provided by Adobe should be an opt-in solution not opt-out - when will Adobe understand that many companies will not permit software that has an AI component to operate - already I have colleagues using other PDF editing solutions to avoid AI - Adobe should not push this solution onto their customers without a robust process to remove the feature where it breaches company guidlines.

Regards

John

Please forward all our concerns to your engineering team.  This is something you should be doing, not asking us to do.

Hi @HornedTrickster,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

While we most certainly forward your feedbacks to the engineering team, filling in the feedback form helps in getting the features prioritized and expedited.

That being said, it would be great if you could fill in the form, and share the link to your post here.

More the number of upvotes on the post, along with us sharing the feedback, the quicker the chances for a change in the future versions.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Regards,
Souvik.

Hi Amal

I agree with other peoples comments, suggesting we complete another feedback form on another page (that requires a seperate registration) is a waste of time, the 'feature' needs to be controlled by the user (your customer) and not controlled by your engineering team - there needs to be a way to turn this off completely and remove the bloat that it causes to the program.
